Came home to a wife complaining of water pouring out of a pvc pipe all over the back porch...aka the secondary drain. Watched the video and had everything fixed in 30 minutes. Saved a bunch of money in lieu of having an HVAC guy come out. Big thanks! The shop vac works great!
No need to clear the AC condensate drain line manually ever again! Automated / Programmable timer / runs once weekly for 2 minutes or when a clog occurs
*So amazingly quiet and **Fastly.Cool** in my room! 42db is at a whisper level. I bought 2 and installed myself.Very sturdy bracket and easy to adjust to fit windows of different size. Absolutely fabulous units!!*
The design makes this AC a possible alternative to ductless DYI systems. It works great. The remote control could be more visual aid oriented like a backligh design. Is impossible to see the lcd at least for me. Easy install ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx_hHgTlzH3uk31Fe2RVS3xEbXHGaN_z5Tation. Came on time . Great comfort around the house 5 🌟 again. Follow mfg instructions for care and all and this should be the only AC you need for those of is that don't live in new homes with central AC
Dude you are the MAN!!!! My landlord lives on Mars and Im pretty sure her last tenant before me never replaced a filter for over a year or two. Been hearing Niagra Falls constantly in my living room where my blower and evap coils etc is at. Stayed up all night doing anything I can to fix this thing. Tomorrow I'll tackle the sludge and the spiders!!
The line in my house got clogged and the backup line was dripping from the roof just like you said. I ended up getting a stain and the stealing of my house and I kept on trying to troubleshoot this. And if I just spent 20 minutes and watch the video I could prevented all that crap from happening. Thank you so much for your time and making this video.
Dude......Thanks so much for sharing this video. I've had my house for 8 years, and I've yet to do any maintenance of my HVAC, and now it is starting to act up, so I'm slowly learning what to do.
Thank you so much! new homeowner here. why in the world would my drainage elbow be pointed up!? I turned it so it points down to drain, bleach, water, shop vac as you said. Sadly there are spots that wore a hole in the ceiling below. That could've been prevented if maybe things were installed right. At least it drains and is clean now but I worry there are cracks in the pipe? ugh...🤦♂️
hey RC Jr. nice video. My problem, the overflow from AC goes to a pipe connected to a bathroom sink drainage pipe. (under the sink). There is a terrible order emitting from that sink. What can I do to clean it out. The AC tech said, "he wasn't a plumber". Help Please
My thermostat keeps turning off, I had 3 differnt guys and issue still isn’t fixed. Last guy finally told me it was just a bad thermostat. Bought a $400 one and it turned off and won’t turn on next day. Is a clogged pipe causing it??? Causing wire issues to thermostat to turn off? Also I have 2 of those and it’s only leaking from the top one leaving yellow stain down side of my house
IF you look at your FAU and see where the drain line comes out of the unti, you may see a valve that has two wires coming from it, it should just lift out, if that switched touches water it will shut off power to your unit. Try that and respond if not.
I think my condensate PVC pipe is clogged. The reason is I see/feel water on the top of the filter... and the AC can't get below 80... even with the thermostat set at 77. My dilemma, if water is coming out of the egress pipe, what good would it be to pour bleach down the line??? And if I did, how long will it take to dissolve the crap (if any) within the condensate pipe. 18JUL2019
So I do not have any of these lines outside of my house. I found 2 near my roof, but nothing is coming out of either one. I have a flood coming through my ceiling. So shop vac is out or do I try it from the top floor?
Hey RC, is there a way I can show you a pic of my closet AC? I know I need to clean / unclog it, but, Im not sure where to pour the water & bleach. My small condensation drain keeps overflowing. The water is ice cold but the temperature in the room is in the 90s. I appreciate your time.
I've got the same problem. I have an AC unit in an upstairs closet. I have zero condensation coming out of either PVC drain pipes, Low or high on my outside. It is stormy and humid for phoenix and my other unit is dripping but nothing on the one upstairs. There is no drip pan in the closet. Where do I pour the bleach and water.? I have the curved pipe and there are two opening, one has a sensor and cap that I can take off. The other opening is like an air vent sticking up in the air about 6" and is open. Thanks
!I honestly don't think blowing with your mouth is going to unclog the drain......I am trying to earn my HVAC patch for my vest...LOL I think I am going to use the shop vac!
Thx for the video. If you have water going into the pan does that mean it's clogged? I went outside by the fan box and there is water coming from the pipe located on the roof.
I think I'm having the same problem. The drain pipe near my front door over head just started dripping. I though it may be because we were running the a/c more often. I found one that might be the primary drain but it's much smaller then the secondary. It's located outside of my garage on the exterior of where my washer is. So I wasn't sure if this drain has to do with the washer. Any help is greatly appreciated!
You have to have a quick eye, because it passes quickly. Both primary and safety drain appear to be connected to the same drain. They should have two separate drain lines. If there were two separate lines, then he mistook the primary and secondary. The primary comes from the unit. The secondary comes from the safety pan under the unit. I suppose it will never be a problem as long as he cleans it out annually, but from the video as I saw it, there is no safety drain connected.
I have a problem with my AC unit outside. It is dirty and I'm getting ready to clean it. But I also noticed the line is all froze up. What does that mean ?? Is it low on freon or just because it needs cleaned
Would a plugged main condensate drain lessen the amount of air coming out of the ac vents in your home? I'm pretty sure the main line is clogged and the air doesn't come out of the vents very quickly. I cleaned the outdoor and indoor coils and the filters are new so I'm not sure why the airflow is so poor....
mikeheathercerovski our ac was fine. it just didn't blow as hard as the last house we were in. but even with the weaker airflow, it keeps our house cool even in 100 degree weather.
Pipkin50 I found that the drain was clogged and the water was leaking down the main air ducked. I sucked out 8 gal of water. After that it was running well.
Build up of ahh condensation. This main line ahh.. we will flush ahh it out. We will ahh mix this 50/50 ahh.. This is the ahh the drain ahh line ahh. lol
I'm getting air coming out not cold air kinda cool but the fan don't spin I used a tool to give it a kick start it spun for a min then stopped please help
I hope you fixed your ac. I've been without ac for almost a week now. It's so hot. I'm trying to figure it out myself too! This Texas heat is killing me!

Cool informational video. i am going to try this, since its dripping from the top outlet.
Good vid. Funny how some vids mention to use the shop vac & others don't.
I and the husky dog staying with me in the Florida heat thank you very, very much for this information.
He was very specific about being from Arizona
Thanks for the video. Now we know what to do!

Thanks for your time making the video.
Mine was just cleared out by a technician at the end of the summer so the AC will not be used again until next summer. When should I do it again?
nice vid.
It worked!!! Thank you!
Thanks for the video. I am also located In Arizona! Are you near the North Phoenix area?
Mine is literally frozen and ice chunks are falling down inside the house. Is this the same problem? Thank you. 😊

how to widely open the A/C condensation water drain pipe
Great information but I got dizzy! :D
I agree with you my head hurt lol
I’m not using my aircon but it’s still leaking. It’s winter here too. Is this normal?
How does a condensate line get clogged up? I heard a smokers house or candle burning can do it.

Let me rephrase, my little 'pan' that is suppose to catch condensation coming out of the ac unit is overflowing.
!I honestly don't think blowing with your mouth is going to unclog the drain......I am trying to earn my HVAC patch for my vest...LOL I think I am going to use the shop vac!
@EL.MAS.BUSCADO Nah, take your word for it
Ty good info
Thanks for showing this
hi, my fan is not working. and my capacitor is good, which button to push to see if my fan motor is gone? thanks.
Is that AC unit supposed to drip water?
Yes, if it isn't then you have issues. Re-watch the video.
My a/c drain pipe goes directly to a sewer pipe. Is that even a proper way to have it?
Thx for the video. If you have water going into the pan does that mean it's clogged? I went outside by the fan box and there is water coming from the pipe located on the roof.
btw I did pour bleach twice and it still flowing water into the pan.
The drain is clogged, if it is draining from the secondary. You will need to unclog the main drain if you have two drain spots.
rent a an air compressor dude!
I have same problem
I think I'm having the same problem. The drain pipe near my front door over head just started dripping. I though it may be because we were running the a/c more often. My top is dripping alot. And I'm a renter.. Not sure how to tell the house landlord
Just say its leaking
wow, your air is not very cold...my air temp coming out of vents is in low 50's
blowing into the pipe like you are doing wouldn't work b/c the air will go into your secondary pipe
You have to have a quick eye, because it passes quickly. Both primary and safety drain appear to be connected to the same drain. They should have two separate drain lines. one thing you want to clean that trap. that's where it will plug up
I have a problem with my AC unit outside. It is dirty and I'm getting ready to clean it. But I also noticed the line is all froze up. What does that mean ?? Is it low on freon or just because it needs cleaned
I have ice coming crashing down inside my house along with water. I thought it was an animal at first. I’m also wondering what that’s all about!

be sure the fan on your air handler is set to HIGH, be sure your fan blades are clean
