No more two different score for standard car and car with optional ADAS? EDIT: I’ve read the report, even with optional AEB and ACC it probably wouldn’t get 5 stars because it lacks pedestrian and cyclists recognition and the active bonnet.
Horrible 3* rating because FCA spares basic safety systems in their base model. Well done FCA! Who is making those decisions at FCA? Of course, they know they have to integrate systems that are mandatory in 2019 or fail in the NCAP test. Instead, they decide no to do so and keep people from buying this car, as no one wants a car with a poor 3* crash test rating. Italy seems unable to produce competitive cars anymore, with the exception of Ferrari. No wonder they are in a deep mess. Their decision making is absurd.
Since customers hate the automatic braking system it's actually very reasonable to leave it out. Too many false alarms by the emergency braking systems, awful thing to have onboard. I think it's great to still have companies that want to cater for the customer's needs, not for the automotive journalists and safety governance.
