I was 12! They had a test at school. My parents never had my eyes tested. No one noticed, not even my teachers, that I couldn’t see clearly beyond 1 foot.
This demonstrates why children need an eye exam early. My son was having a hard time reading at the age of 9, even though he was in a STEM program. His IQ was higher than mine, but he couldn't read. I tried working with him. Tried Hooked on Phonics and nothing helped. Then one day while we were waiting in line at the pharmacist, he was trying to read the labels on the meds and happened to pick up a pair of reading glasses ... and he could see! We were a week out from a trip to Ireland, so the next day I took him out of school to get an eye exam and glasses at a lens crafters. He had no idea that trees had leaves! I had no idea. There was never any indication that he couldn't see except that he couldn't read well. Take your kids for an eye exam early, like when they're between 2 and 4. It's important.
Okay, I'm gonna be the grinch here. Most of these are delightful, and I'm happy for the children. But that girl at 4:39, the one doing the fake crying, gets on my nerves. When kids do that, say "You're not crying. Stop it !" The girl is irritating everybody around her and she is delaying her own happiness at finding she can see better.
At 72, I remember seeing for the first time at 5. Brought tears to my eyes remember seeing leaves on trees.

Children should have their first eye exam at 6 to 9 months of age in the US there is a program called infant see that pays for the exams
