He is one of the first supervillians I remember as a little kid. I remember being mesmerized by John Byrnes art style and always tried to draw the character, which set me on a path to drawing as a hobbie.
He’s one of my favorite most powerful Avengers villains and I’m sure because he’s so powerful is why he’s so underused. I’m happy to have him in my collection.
I wanted a Count Nefaria and I did get him. Retro is as retro as it gets. He's a classic avengers villain who dabbled in ionic research and was responsible for Wonder Man and Goliath a.k. a. Atlas of the Thunderbolts. He also acquired ionic powers that made him powerful enough to even withstand Thor's hammer. As for his look, he captures the comic book look. Older comic book readers(ouch) are more familiar with this character and would appreciate getting an action figure made. Now we need a Graviton figure.
Thanks for the review on this product Anthony. Hasbro is developing into quite the child's bath toy company. The paint is minimalistic and done so shoddy that it looks like it was painted by an eight year old. The character is old school, so it was right up my alley. Until I saw it. Reminds me of the Orb ML did a couple of years ago. From the shoulders up, it is a great figure. The problem is everything below it.
Not only do I know who it is ( he is a very early avengers, x-men etc villian) he changed over time, and was one of the avengers greatest villians. He is one of my most favorite. Great Bryne work!! I've waited from the first marvel legend release(yes toy biz) for this release.
I've actually been getting better at drawing because of all the free anatomy lessons you give in your Marvel legends reviews, thank you for all your hatred for bad figures 🙏
He killed the X-Man,Thunderbird,and in that costume he gained Superman level power by combining the powers of the Erik Josten,Power Man,the Whirlwind, and the Living Laser multiplied 100 fold. He can go toe to toe with Thor easily. I was jazzed to get him.
He is a character I wanted a figure of along with Graviton. Sadly Hasbro is charging an arm and a leg for a basic figure with so so articulation and a bad paint job. I remember reading black and white reprints of him against the X-Men. I think he receuited the Eel and Porcupine, maybe Scarecrow too. Originally he was a crimimal mastermind, who went on to sython powers from Whirlwind, Living Laser, Power Man (who became Goliath, the villain version) and I forget who else. I think his power is ionic based like Wonder Mans. So he's super strong, durable, flys, has laser vision and super speed. Basically and evil Superman. I think he's also an energy vampire.
I do enjoy that the head of New York's Italian mafia is a spandex superhuman who can throw down with the whole Avengers roster at once and flat-catch Mjolnir with one hand. It's the kind of weird that you just don't get in a modern comic villain.
He's the evil version of Superman. Why Hasbro didn't give him a mean "yelling" face is beyond me. His costume made it's debut in 77" and lasted all the way into the early 2000s. John Byrne and George Perez drew him best and his best story arcs were depicted by Byrne and Perez.
Oof! My God, Man! Google first! Nefaria's actually a long standing Marvel villain who's gone up against Captain America, Iron Man, the Avengers, the X-Men and has the power to go toe-to-toe with Thor! This figure is his most iconic look from one of the most memorable Avengers stories ever. He's been one of the most requested figures for years! Sadly... the Count we were finally given is cheap as Hell. The Count deserves much better. He's got a great design that would have made for a stellar figure had Hasbro not given up and cheaped out from the neck down. If you haven't bought this one and want him... Let's face it. We waited YEARS for THIS. An apology Nefaria is not coming soon!... Wait on him. He'll be about twelve bucks on Amazon in about a year.
You should check out the new 5” Sonic movie figures they’re 15 bucks and have Figma style articulation while still using hinges for the wrist and ankles which I think is a smart choice, feels fairly close to what import Sonic figures would be like.
I hope you will review the Total Anime Jazwares figures. They're super impressive and affordable, and certainly makes hasbro look like a joke. The S.H.Figuarts Tanjiro Kamado deserves a look as well.
Im wondering if his head is big enough to put on a DC Multiverse figure to make a better Ra's-al-Ghul than the one we got with that Grundy build a figure.
I don’t know who it is but for a Marvel comics fan who wants every character Marvel ever made this is for them. It’s probably so minuscule of a character that they didn’t bother putting much effort into it but that’s not really saying much lol.
I have no idea who this guy is, and you couldn't pay _me_ to add him to my collection. The only reason I could fathom grabbing him for is to use his head somewhere else.
is this just a doctor strange repaint or something, with new head? Perhaps the infinity ultron 'evil' doc strange? but it does suck. why bother putting this out for sale?
He’s the ceo of Hasbro

I DID want a Count Nefaria!! I was so happy when he was announced

Count Nefaria is a classic villain! Created by the great Stan Lee and Don Heck! One of the first major villains for The Avengers and Iron Man!

He’s pretty much a crime boss with Superman powers, which is a pretty cool combo in my book.

happy to help

Luchino Nefaria been around since 1964 created by Jack Kirby.
Lookin like a dollar store Dr strange..... a Professor Odd
His belt looks like icing on a cookie lmao
Pretty much a classic Al Pacino character as Superman. He’s always fun.
Q of the Day: Yes, I know the character well, and he was one of my most wanted Marvel Villains.
Evil Dr Strange
He’s Space Ghost’s evil twin brother, hence why he has the same color scheme, but with an evil goatee.

He could be a gnarly doctor strange custom figure
I quite literally said "WHO?!"
He is literally Doctor Strange, surely I'm not the only one 🤣
Yep, one of those evil alternate universe Dr Stranges. There are plenty of them out there in the What If? series.
Headsculpt can be used as dr strange
I was thinking The Master from Doctor Who, also.
He was on the Animated Iron Man show. Apparently he is becoming popular again thanks to Contest of Champions mobile game.
I only know him because he's the villain when Thunderbird died.
I do enjoy that the head of New York's Italian mafia is a spandex superhuman who can throw down with the whole Avengers roster at once and flat-catch Mjolnir with one hand. It's the kind of weird that you just don't get in a modern comic villain.
no way, Arius from DMC 2 has returned as a figure!
We just need fabric capes they do it with star wars figures why not the marvel legends lines
You asked a question we already know the answer to - "Does Hasbro not care?". No. No, they don't care.
Know him (plenty of comments detailing his history), but not interested in acquiring one though. Solid review as always, thanks! 👍
I would prefer retro Spidey villains - The Enforcers, Big Man, Crime Master, Looter, classic Kangaroo, Mindworm, original Spider Slayer, etc

I was just about to say “wait that’s not Dr. Nefario” (from Despicable Me) 💀
You should check out the new 5” Sonic movie figures they’re 15 bucks and have Figma style articulation while still using hinges for the wrist and ankles which I think is a smart choice, feels fairly close to what import Sonic figures would be like.
I can't find them anywhere

I remember Moon Knight fights him in the Bendis run.
Had never heard of this character. He looks decent enough but not at full price. Will only get him if he goes on sale.
He will. Most of this wave is pegwarming hard.
Is Darwin getting a friend?
Count Nefaria has all the normal superhuman abilities...he is an Avengers villain
He’s got skin on the side of his beard
I don’t know who it is but for a Marvel comics fan who wants every character Marvel ever made this is for them. It’s probably so minuscule of a character that they didn’t bother putting much effort into it but that’s not really saying much lol.
He's a powerful classic villain from the avengers that's it
I can’t even put the cape on smh and one of the knees don’t bend I’m going to get some oil tomorrow 🫠
oil wont help the knee.
@@AnthonysCustoms that’s a bummer do you have any suggestions on how to make the knee bend more smoothly?
hair dryer or hot (not boiling) water
@@AnthonysCustoms appreciate the advice will definitely try that technique
@@AnthonysCustoms Also, I hope this doesn’t sound silly but wetting the action figure won’t potentially cause molding or anything would it
He’s Dan Yun’s daddy
Video is too short I feel you should uploaded another review 2 videos today
I only know Whiplash and the Mandarin
I have no idea who this guy is, and you couldn't pay _me_ to add him to my collection. The only reason I could fathom grabbing him for is to use his head somewhere else.
Same never Hurd of him, personally design looks wack no question when he got shown 100% skip👌🏻
is this just a doctor strange repaint or something, with new head? Perhaps the infinity ultron 'evil' doc strange? but it does suck. why bother putting this out for sale?
This figure doesn't give the character enough justice. I think the character is interesting but thats crappy bio is unfortunate
You should customize that figure to upgrade it and do a video about it!!!
The white paint showing at the abb crunch is just awful
Who?
