Sabertooth is great and I don’t mind the Wolverine, but it should’ve been an updated brown suit Wolverine instead.

I'm thinking they're going to rerelease that Wolverine for the 2026 game. In the teaser he wears an almost identical outfit, but with a slightly different plaid shirt (which is right up Hasbro's alley lol).
I genuinely thought they put him in this outfit to celebrate the game and that it IS the same outfit. Tbh I actually love it more than sabretooth. I'm all for having our heroes in civilian attire. Just wish the hat was removable or one of the heads was hatless

8:49-9:05 I don't get why so many people don't understand that. I've seen countless people in comment sections (not just Anthony's) saying matte and gloss finishes don't look any different, or that it doesn't change anything about the look. Sabretooth still has a generic Hasbro body look to it, but it doesn't look like Fisher-Price made it for toddlers

Get Marvel Select Sabertooth.
the upper body on Logan is new, the legs are reused. The legs first appeared on the 2017 Warlock wave Old Man Logan, though in that original use, there was no texture on them. They then got reused in the Logan w/ motorcycle pack, and that release added texture to the legs. There was also the Days of Future Past Logan that came packed with a Sentinel, the Cowboy Logan with black wifebeater, and the Old Man Logan from the 2-pack with Old Man Hawkeye

I only wanted Sabretooth, but this is my first civilian dressed Wolverine so it's not too bad for me. We've got the extra unmasked head from X-men 97 release & retro carded yellow/blue suit wolverine has a nice unmasked yelling head. IMO they're selling a "story" with this 2 pack, wouldn't be surprised if we get another single carded Sabretooth in not too distant future.
The only way I'll buy that single Sabertooth is if the knees are painless. And knowing Hasbro, they'll probably do that *exactly* just to get people to buy him again.
@@collegerebelDefinitely! Didn't think of that. They actually did the same with VHS Wolverine with angry head & 97 release was pinless no angry head. Those were maybe a year apart from releasing.
People shouldn't have to kit bash to get a head sculpt it should have come with. Wolverine should always come with an angry/yelling head sculpt. Packing 2 neutral heads for a wolverine is unacceptable.

Honestly I think the reason wolverine looks so realistic is because the wolverine in the insomniac trailer wears extremely similar clothing. Maybe they're planning on repainting it with the plaid and a different head sculpt to go along with the game.
Yes,I've wanted a Jim Lee Sabretooth on this body since Omega Red came out a couple months after the last Jim Lee Sabretooth. Certainly didn't need another Wolverine, but I should have both in hand later today after the mail gets here.
The head size on Sabertooth doesn’t bug me, probably cuz of the giant mane he has. But definitely these with Wolverine 2 packs, the figures that Wolverine comes with are more desirable figures. Sabertooth is very well done which is why I wanted this 2 pack. Hasbro did a good job with Sabertooth and I think the alternate Logan head should have been a hatless yelling head to replicate the pose on the packaging.

Those Wolverine elbows are hideous. Thank goodness they're pinless, tho, right? I'll never understand the praise for pinless joints when the sculpt is atrociously destroyed when you articulate the joints. Those elbows, the Dormammu body and that bearded Daredevil figure's knees are serious offenders against pinless joints.
I agree. The ONLY time I agree with pinless is for Spider-Man's arms. Other than that the praise for pinless is the stupidest shit ever.

Pinless can be done right. They’ve nailed it plenty of times. Not sure what happened with Logan tho. Pinless in general makes the figures look better and feel better due to the joint not being gummy and easily warped.
Whoa there, Hasbro could make pinless joints that look good. they have made pinless joints that look good. It's the same situation as their head articulation, we praise the double ball on War machine, and we still see how they keep (purpesfully?) messing it up on other figures so they can go back to their shitty disc hinges.
@@theraven268 they just re use bodies that have the disc hinges, constantly. That’s really the main problem. Most of Hasbro’s pin-less joints look pretty good, at least the ones I’ve picked up.

I was anticipating this sabertooth figure for forever. While i hate a forced 2 pack, I'm not mad at the Logan included.
The marvel select sabertooth is still my favorite. Has size, and the look of the cartoon/comic, not the best articulation but it works. The Wolverine is pretty cool, switch heads to a decent screaming one and you're set.
Yes I use the select one in my brotherhood of mutants his size and sculpt are great

If only the Sabretooth was a deluxe figure with a disgruntled 3rd head, fist hands, clawing swoosh effect that clips on the forearm and neck grabbing hands. That Wolverine is gonna be instantly thrown on eBay lol
I want this Sabertooth, but hate that I must buy 2 pack with useless Wolverine number 21332 figure. The only 2 pack from hasbruh in which I want both figures are Zola and new Zemo, but even this Zola is an old figure, so for people who already have Zola it's not a greateast 2 pack as well.

So glad you mentioned aesthetics with this set. There's plenty of instances in this line where seeing the same few plain bodies reused across different characters with minimal paint detail, varying sheens to the plastic and at times awkward proportions really distracts me by highlighting the corner cutting of the line. I think that's why figures like Doctor Doom, Kang, Lady Deathstrike, the Lizard or Doc Ock using a new unique detailed body stand out as some of my favourites, they look unique whilst still fitting in with the rest of the line. That being said there can be good instances of body or part reuse, Sabretooth being a great example, it's more so the Sunfire/Bucky Cap instances that throw me off.
Also not the worst instance of an unwanted figure in a 2-pack, out of all the heroes in Marvel Wolverine is absolutely one who I associate with being in a costume just as much as in his civilian clothes, but the lack of an angry/yelling/teeth gritted head to match him up better with Sabretooth is a let down and does hold the figure back for me.

That Sabertooth is friggin awesome! It could, as you said, stand to be a tad bigger, but still acceptable. The Wolverine figure isn't really my cup of tea, but I will say that I really like his proportions. It's stout and squatty, as Logan should be. Sik
I agree that the Sabretooth figure looks incredible on that particular buck. I'd also love to get a newly sculpted Sabretooth that captures the aesthetic of the animated series, with a diaphragm cut and other articulation points similar to some Spider-Man figures. I'm sure a new beefier eight-and-a-half-inch body could be used to refresh other larger characters.

I'm a comic book over animated series guy, so this Sabretooth's size is perfect, as the character isn't meant to be the size of the Hulk or Juggernaut. I don't mind the Logan figure, even if it isn't the main draw for me.
I’ve always preferred the look that Sabretooth had from the evolution, animated series and ultimate comics but out of this particular design, this is definitely the best figure he’s had.
I bought the 2 pack for sabertooth obviously but I wasn’t really upset with getting the Logan figure (but I don’t think he’ll make it to my shelf) as for how realistic he is I can only assume he’ll inevitably get reused once they make figures for that upcoming wolverine video game in a few years
Best sabertooth ever! Been waiting years since the omega red, made my custom the moment it came out. Of course it could be better, ex: bigger, beefier, more umph, diaghram articulation, pinless legs (for stability) and toe hinge for dynamic natural posing. But again, still the best sabe ever!
Picked up 2 of these! Only because of the Sabretooth. I haven't even removed the Wolverine from the opened box one. Great release. Totally agree about the head size, but it doesn't bother me at all. I have an older Sabretooth from the Puck BAF wave and swapping that head on the newer body looks amazing! But I still keep it with the original head, because the new head sculpt is just so good!

Sabretooth's shite eating grin is pretty cool. Humungus Sabretooth from the 90's series would be something I would want. It would make more sense to me if Logan had sunglasses on with the cowboy hat like the animated series and his brown jacket if they must have him in civvies.
I like both figures individually, the double pack doesn't make sense to me though; Both in civilian outfits or Both in costume (wonder if they'll do the reverse for a civilian Creed). It works for me as I would've picked up logan and sabretooth in solo releases. The Logan coming with two nearly identical heads is my biggest gripe. The art on the package has them fighting and him screaming - they've got that uncanncy retro release with the screaming head, use it. There's no need to spend money on a second head that's basically the same. I get frustrated with how they design their artwork which showcases what they should be and then the figures aren't that.
Logan lower body is their standard civilian Logan sculpt they've used it for the riders series, OML & Hawkeye, 80th "cowboy" logan etc. gets used a ton but just repainted. I believe they have the sculpt with both a smooth finish (OML Warlock Wave) and then a jean textured version.
Just started watching it. So excited! Can't wait to see you get into that but
I preordered the pack for the Sabertooth to pair with my Mafex Jim Lee X-Men. I also wanted an animated style Sabertooth in terms of sculpt and while not 100% accurate I figure it’s close enough for now. The only real negative for me is I wish he had pinless legs, but that isn’t enough of a reason for me to not get him.
Getting this pack only for Sabretooth, I'll try to sell that Wolvie for $25-20.
I still kinda prefer the Marvel Select one but the articulation is so outdated...
I feel like those headsculpts would look amazing on the Caliban mold, we really need a Sabretooth with that body.

I'm one of those Sabretooth fans that likes em huge. That is why my Select Sabretooth is not threatened with an upgrade to the latest ML variant. Although I have to state that the work ML did on ole Creed is very admirable. These ML 2-packs have an agenda of greed all over it.

Head is huge on that Sabertooth, calves and feet too, those parts subtract from the point of em looking large like the show. If Caliban mold is used then it would look overly huge. Hasbro has another Sabertooth left since this one has pins on legs.
Who knows how long it will be but if they can improve Nightcrawler on second release they can improve Sabertooth.

The Wolverine lower body is from the Walgreens exclusive from a few years back I don't hate this figure but.....I tried putting the X-Men 97 head on it which I like buy of course the skid tone doesn't match
It's the wrong Wolverine! If they wanted to honour him, they would have chosen issue #90. They should have given us an updated love triangle Wolverine with bone claws and torn mask. Will have to create my own using the 97 body and head sculpt and claws from the love triangle. It just proves these people don't know the source material

Part of me does think the pants on Logan were used for one of the movie figs, but not sure if I can account for the shirt.

I was happy to finally get a bigger sabretooth but honestly i wish at least one of these anniversary sets had some kind of new wolverine in his brown suit or id honestly like to see the armored suit he had when he lost his healing factor and had the claws that came out of his gauntlets.

I think for all the wolverine 50 anniversary 2 packs there is only one figure from each pack worth having, excluding the patch and Joe fixit. sadly we have to pay two pack prices to get em. This particular pack I'm not to mad about, I love the Sabretooth and wolverine is just ok, I do like the playing cards accessory lol.
Sabretooth's huge head and Logan's elbows are the deal-breakers for me. I wanted both figures but I'll wait for a sale. Really though, that blasted head size is what gets me. It's inexcusable. Anyone who genuinely loves that, preference and all, has probably never been to a gym in their lives, or they genuinely have terrible taste, or they're straight-up rubes; nobody who's properly trained in the ways of the Old Masters could possibly prefer that head size for this particular case. I mean, just look at how gigantic it is compared to both Wolverine and Darwin.
Yeah I'm bitter and whinging because this absolutely should've been such an easy slam dunk. That there seems to be people unironically defending these issues is the rub.
I haven't bought newer Marvel Legends in a while but, I agree with you. I rate this set as a 7.0, also. I actually wished Hasbro with smarten up and texture up blank bodies so they don't have to reuse them, over and over. Like how Toybiz added texture to that Astonishing Wolverine figure. I'm getting this set for the Sabertooth. The Wolverine, that, to me, is an accessory. The pants were used with the Old Man Logan figure from the Caliban Wave and was used with the Biker Wolverine set that came with two messed up heads, one also being a cowboy. The only good part of the Lower half of this Wolverine figure is the ankles that have Ball Peg.which help because the hips suck. You did mention something I thought about before I seen in your video about Sabertooth being bigger. He is Bigger and was always drawn hunched. I liked how you made the head smaller lowering a little to make a point we both thought of. I'll get the set but, like I mentioned, Wolverine is basically Sabertooth's accessory, in this case.

size wise they are good size for late 80s 90s comics. i am glad we got this. i am not a fan of the the cartoon size...but yeah caliban would be great for cartoon sabretooth. now....two pack...was kinda bummed about it.

I'll put the unmaked head that came with the X-Men '97 Wolverine on it. It might look a little odd, but from a distance, it'll be fine on a shelf.
I also like that it comes with playing cards, so Gambit can have regular cards as a display option.
That Sabertooth is gorgeous. Even on camera, that matte finish shines... not literally, but it's noticeable.
I am considering shading my figures, but if I don't. I might have to give some of them a matte finish at minimum.
Also, I think there is a Venom figure that uses that body, and he is significantly larger than other Venom figures.

QotD: I'm just happy we got a really good looking Sabretooth. I try to temper expectations on getting any character cause Hasbro gonna Hasbro... As for the Wolverine. ehhhhhh... I might try to use it for something, but I don't need another Wolverine lol.
Anyone who says the last Sabertooth is a good figure is smoking copium at an alarming rate. That figure was terrible. Sat on my villains shelf for a week before putting it in storage and eventually trading it.
This was the only Wolverine two pack announced that was an instant need for me. Loooooooooong overdue for a good Sabretooth. The Patch/Hulk one would be kinda cool but I don’t need it.

My logan figure came with its right leg slightly shorter than the left. I think it has something to do with the foot not being placed correctly. Ugh. The sabertooth is perfect.

Finally! The nice claws for Wolverine.
Hasbro proved in the past that they can make a two pack where both of the figures are good and fitting together, as someone mentioned here the Juggernaut and Colossus box. Now what they are doing i think is release a high demand figure in an overall more expensive bundle, but the carried, almost filler figure has to be something that won't use up an individually well selling character or a version of it. But at least, this time they weren't lazy with it. I mean still they didn't match, and for sure, glued hat on both heads, that you have to buy another Wolvie if you want that look. For Hasbro, this is a business and they are selling products, as much as they can with - mostly - the least effort on the highest price. It's understandable. But that's why reviewers like Anthony are doing a great service to the fan community. Insightful product reviews comparing them to their prices and other products. Thank you. And i find the presentation entertaining too.

This Sabertooth looks good, I’d be satisfied with this one. I don’t own a cowboy Logan…so, I’m not upset about this. I’m just not sold on the face for Logan. So, I’m m gonna wait for a sale…if it happens and then I’ll see what other head options I have.

I absolutely bought this for the Sabretooth. Been wanting one for a while like many others.
2nd question of the day: I didn’t mind it, I wouldn’t have bought him if this Logan was a solo release. Kind of been on the fence about a street clothes Wolverine, so this stops me from buying the muscle shirt cowboy hatted Wolverine. I hate that this Wolverine doesn’t just have the comic eyes, and a growling head.
I think the VHS line is done. I expect they’ll do a X-Men 97 version soon.
I kind of hope not because I’d have loved a vhs Magneto, as I keep the boxes. But with them releasing two X-Men 97 Magnetos I can absolutely see you being right about that, lol.
