+RaptorXD22 hehehe yeh maybe I should :) I've got gamma protocol coming out soon. final shot is rendering as i speak. it makes this sequence look very basic now.. would love to revisit this sequence and upgrade it and fire it out on 2k cinema resolution bit it takes so much time :/

I felt like they use this in the civil war suit up scene for the helicopter for mark 44 or 45
PotatoPlayz one of the boys in the Marvel creative dept actually contacted me when they were working on civil war.. they were looking over my sequence so maybe it had a little influence :)

almost 10yrs and the CGI is still shinning brighter than latest Marvel releases. It's sad they didn't make something like this in the movie. a car suit-up would have looked awesome on big screen with RDJ
ah cheers man thats nice to hear haha - i would have loved to have revisited this and got it to look nicer again - more detail better shaders and textures etc.. but it is what it is and the idea of an in-car-suitup was conveyed nicely so i leave it as it is hehe

Sweet recovery with an epic pose!! You're so far the best fan animator I've seen on UA-cam whom uses 3D models, the facial expressions on Stark were well done and accurate. Can I ask you what software you used, or is it custom?
Ali Woznicki maya for animation. after effects for compositing. with this sequence I used mental ray to render but gamma protocol I used vray. I also used some houdini in gamma for things like simulating the sand on hulks fingers at the end and some destruction and pyroclastic cloud stuff! :)

I noticed how the armor is thinner and more fluid when he walks, looks almost like ringmail alloy in some segments in this vision of this armor model. Very cool.
yep i figured thinner carbon fibre and brushed aluminium plates were reminiscent of the materials used in cars - the suit is basically a full-body air bag designed to save him ;)

Anthony Mcgrath I hope in future Iron Man movies, whether it be with Robert Downey Jr. or not, that they integrate your concept of the car suit up. It comes in handy just like the suit-case armor.
that would be epic to see it on the big screen... hell even if they showed this short animation before the film :p

I would love to re render this with new shaders and lighting techniques just to see how it comes out.. a sort of special edition upgrade lol.. but I try to keep moving and learning from new pieces of work. This sruqence was successful exercise in what you DON'T see in order to sell a concept ;)

This is really top notch. Why can't Marvel employ you do do a movie like this. The recent animated feature staring hulk and iron man isn't even half as good as this. Expertly animated, and the voice was better too (that guy they are using from heroes was a seriously bad choice).

Sean Smith haha thanks but bear in mind it's as much fun for me to make too. Plus I watch stuff for example that comes from films and I'm puzzled as to how they get it all looking so absolutely real! Whether it's the creepy alien creature from LIFE.. or a super macro scene from Ant man as he runs through a tiny model town with white debris explosions blasting everywhere hehe. I aspire to search for that level of quality :D
