Dear Eric, this video answered all of my questions I've sent to you today... Really gentle and beautiful approach for the torso with connecting everything else without being to much to follow and handle. Those questions/remark about the vision and do we even want to be without pain are wrapping it into full circle lesson in only few minutes ❤. Your teachings are real treasure 😊. Thank you...
Your are so welcome. I have a bunch of new videos that may be of interest. Have you tried *The Movement Called CD* ? ua-cam.com/video/onyGosQtosA/v-deo.html . Also, I encourage you to try the *Basic Somatics Miracle Sequence* : ua-cam.com/video/uzF6cdm5aMo/v-deo.html
This was amazing, my torso is the beginning of everything, I am just discovering this. I swim underwater twice a week and it also helps. Thank you, new subscriber here. 🙏🏻🤗
I am so glad you found my channel. A good goal is to develop a basic personal somatic practice. This playlist is a good place to start, working from the top down. *Start here. Begin your Somatics Experience Here playlist:* ua-cam.com/play/PLFLw4vgr7ayiIX9O0hRsMwyxhaK4LTXXF.html This is an basics course I made a few years ago: *Free Intro to Somatics Course Playlist* , Where you're stuck is hidden. 2h:28m Somatic Movement to reconnect to yourself. ua-cam.com/play/PLFLw4vgr7ayhL0zxrFjrpw0ok2298dZEG.html&si=n1fYUY8YG_NGkvP0 Once you know the basics, try a bunch of my multi-movement sequences: *Practice Sequences, Combinations of Movements Playlist* ua-cam.com/play/PLFLw4vgr7ayi5g-EIHvIoxssLuuYpKptY.html My system considers the torso holdings as the location of most people's root holdings. Free the torso. This movement has a good front, and sides assessment (not the back, the inner-x or twisting assessment). It will show you some of my approach to assessment: *Can Gentle TWISTING Free Your BREATHING?* Gentle Slow, Simplest Twisting Washrag Full Version 17m:12s Detailed front and side breathing assessment combined with an easy, slow twisting Somatic movement exercise ua-cam.com/video/lfbeq1is-ns/v-deo.html
For me, too... Every time, it still surprises me that the tension can diminish. With more and more practice, as you become a better teacher for yourself, you can find more and more enhancement of your movement. More liberation. More Freedom. More ease in your being. Look deeper. Make your Somatics practice more somatic. Seek the amnesia. Where we are stuck is hidden. Can you find more and more?
Great video today! I noticed how sore my hands are as I'm getting back into fly fishing for the season. This was helpful, and as an added bonus, I can breathe a bit fuller. 🌞🌞🌞
I am happy that you tried this. As much as it is for the hands, it could also be called Relax Tense Neck, or Relax Yourself. Remember, the hands are connected to the rest of you. Tense hands are a flag saying the rest of you is tense. I hope you catch many fish, with relaxed hands!
I’m a somatic teacher too and luv as you do to help but I watch you and luv the way you integrate softness into no big deal. I have genetic hemochromatosis and I overloaded iron in my joints before I was diagnosed , therefore synovial fluids eaten away , had my left hand knuckles replaced and can hold a straight arm in all fours but right hand not done yet so affects extension of my wrist and bent elbow so imbalances all fours so awaiting replacements and doing all that I can to prevent from getting worse. When I had left knuckles done it eased my wrist allowing me to flatten on the ground on all fours. Fingers crossed for next hand/knuckles to be done. Just wanted to say thank you Eric.
You are very welcome. Thank you for you comment and sharing of what you are up against. That's pretty intense. I suggest to you that you can take much of the tension burden off the joints in the extremeties by changing the tension of the torso. In the torso is where a lot of the slack is taken up by persistent holdings. Get the slack from the torso. To do that, look for the subtle limits of your breathing space. That is how to illuminate the normalized holdings. The sides(both the verticals and the diagonals), the back (both the verticals and the diagonals), the front (verticals and diagonals). Get all the slack you can. Not stretching, but relaxing. I wish you much success in your upcoming surgeries.
I am glad you are finding these hand relax video helpful. That is what this video starts to show you. That the roots of the hand tensions are in the torso. Beause the roots of the shoulder tightness reside in the tensions that constrict your breathing space. Those constrictions feel normal to you. They are changeable. Address front, back and sides. You can look in greater resolution by considering the verticals of front back and sides, and also the diagonals of front back and sides. A shortcut (or a culimination) is to then focus on twisting (rotation) To change the tension habit takes a gentle repetition, practicing often to keep reminding the system that it doesn' have to be stuck in so much tension. Please let me know if you have questions, aha moments or other breakthroughs along your path. -Eric
@@ericcoopersomatics Thank you so much. Yes, I am quite aware that my hands and wrists are casualties of other parts of my body. I have the same problem with my ankles and feet, and change has only started to occur after starting to work with corrective exercises for my whole chain... not physio, physio got me nowhere, in fact made it worse because they were only focused on my ankles and feet despite me repeatedly insisting that was something wrong with my hips and shoulders. Grateful for people like you.
If you need guidance, please let me know. My 'Begin Here' Playlist is a good place to start: *Start here. That is an important relationship to consider. To go even further up stream, the more normalized and hidden tensions of the torso likely play a big part in the tensions of your shoulders. This video offers an easy experiment for you to test some of that.
Hi Eric a friend understands whenever their hands, thumbs hurt its food related, and theyre so focused on finding the cause , that being titled arithmetic, would bypass them doing something like this. iwas able to help some of my tenses ribs, shoulders...i understand, why. What would you suggest for me to show them?
Yes, this one, *Relax Tense Hands* ua-cam.com/video/T1CPMfOg3i0/v-deo.html is a good place to start. For the specific thumb pain, I encourage you to also relax the some of the muscles that oppose the movement of the thumb in certain ways. Pandiculate the muscles that pull the thumb away from the palm. They go across the back of the wrist. They can create a lot of thumb pain. Try this video: *Relaxed Forearm, Wrist, Hand and Thumb 2022* ua-cam.com/video/ypXLFjsHZg8/v-deo.html Especially the section starting at 9m:53s. The whole video is good for the thumb related tensions but especially that section of it. Remember, the roots of the hand and thumb pain are big tension patterns that have their constrict breathing space in the torso. They may find great benefit in starting at the top of the *Begin Here Playlist:* ua-cam.com/play/PLFLw4vgr7ayiIX9O0hRsMwyxhaK4LTXXF.html

It is my pleasure to be of service. This knowledge does little good if held too tightly. The world needs it. I'm glad you found it helpful.

Yes could the chronic tension between my shoulders be a contributing factor of my stiff fingers or visa versa ?
