This is seriously one of my favorite channels on UA-cam! You make zero waste very approachable, fun, and not too serious. When I'm having a bad day, this is one of my top channels to watch. Only wish there were more videos! Lots of love from Idaho, Carrie Spencer
I swear your channel is a godsend. I'm just starting on my low-impact "journey" and you're such a goldmine of information when it comes to finding ANYTHING zero-waste friendly in London. You've helped and inspired me so much, I'd have no idea where to start without you, Kate! P.S.: Currently loving Who Gives A Crap, never going back to regular tp.
This is SOOOO helpful! Your videos are the best. I've bought eco-friendly toilet roll and also discovered Hetu because of you. But I can't carry stuff back from Hetu on my own, I have to get my husband to drive us there, so ordering from one of these places would be great. Cheers!
Great video Kate. The best type of unboxing videos are zero waste! Really excited for the growth of these businesses and the introduction of more zero waste stores/deliveries across the UK in the near future!
Imperfect Produce is a company that reduces food waste in grocery stores by selling the fruits and veggies that don't meet aesthetic standards (but are still perfectly good to eat). I don't think they ship everywhere in the US but they do ship to several major cities.
I’m going to be trying out a few companies myself, imperfect produce, butcher box (for my meats), a company called sur la table selling some eco products as well
I have been using Zero Waste Club for a couple of months now and suggested other non-gluten-free pasta - and here in your video I see they have followed a whole bunch of my suggestions for new products 😍❤️😊 this makes me very happy as I have been making all our own pasta for months as I couldn’t buy it Zero Waste and it takes aaaaaaages! Great video Kate xx
You’re videos are so helpful in becoming more zero waste everyday! I’ve emailed my animal pet food supplier to see if they’ll switch over to paper packaging!
I cannot get enough of your videos! Only discovered your channel a couple of months ago but I think I've watched every video. I'd love to see ones on kombucha and affordable ethical clothing.
Thank you so much for this very informative video! I'll be living in the UK for another 2.5 months (Erasmus student) and I am struggling to find zero waste pasta in a conventional store like Sainsbury's so ordering from the first or third store sounds like a really good option for me! xx Jen P.S. It's funny how excited you can get over plastic-free or little packaging once you are trying to reduce your waste! :D
thank you so much this is so helpful!! Can you make a video about composting in London? I live in an area without any green bins so information on compost collection/ home-composting would be very helpful!
Thank you! You are the best! So informative! I will definitely use one of this shops, especially this one delivering in London looks good! Thank you for inspiration!
Thanks for doing this! I always get a tiny bit jealous of the choice in London since my little Lincolnshire town is... Shall we say lacking. I'll definitely be looking at these for my next shop
Now I just need to find an option for plastic free on-line shopping in the US. Thrive has mostly zero waste packaging, but glass jars come in plastic bag. At least there other packing is paper.
This is just want I needed, thanks so much for this review! Will def check them all out. Struggling to get to bulk stores (none near me) and have found most bulk options on line are plastic laden. Hope their prices are reasonable and I’ll make the switch 👍
Paaaataaaa! lol! I love the fact that they recycle their packaging! I'm so interested to see what companies have this awesome service here in the States! You are so cute, btw!
Hi Kate , Loved your blonde hairdo in the IKEA Live Lagom videos Which brand of Hair Product was used by your salon to give you that beautiful blonde style ?
I'm over here, sobbing about living in America. Where I live, they don't even pick up the recycling- they do for households but I live in an apartment complex, so they won't. I drive weekly to the recycling center. My compost goes to my friend whenever I see her, because she lives an hour away and has enough land for a compost heap.
I live in the country so luckily I can just throw my food scraps in the field, but same as you with recycling. My city doesn't but some cities around do, it just depends. I have a cardboard box I throw recycling in and take it all up to my local manual recycling center when it fills up and sort it by hand myself. There are no bulk stores or zero waste options around me either so I do what I can but it's hard sometimes. America needs to step up the game!
Hi kate i am loving your channel and the posts you put up. I am from australia and slowing trying to go waste free a little at a time. I've got the beeswax wraps swag bag for the fridge and use reusable shopping bags. I was wondering if you have a "counterpart" in australia that i could follow as i need local suppliers i get veru envious when i see what you can buy lol!
Kate, your videos are always great! This was was especially nice how you compared the 3 companies and showed us exactly what the process is. Just one question, I noticed that the first company had no stickers while the 2nd & 3rd companies did use stickers. Are the stickers also compostable/made from NatureFlex?
I was keen to look into this as there are no bulk stores in my area right now. I had a look on the plastic free pantry site, and was comparing prices to see just how much more expensive It is to try shop zero waste vs a usual supermarket. In the course of my research I saw that plastic free pantry sells pasta from iris bio. I did a quick google search and saw that there are 5kg plastic bags of this for sale via other online sites for a little over £10. If you look carefully at the plastic free pantry site it does say that they are buying it in 5kg plastic bags and then sending to customers in paper bags... honestly I feel like this isn’t really a great example of plastic free living, they are buying it themselves in plastic, and not even in particularly large bags, and then selling it by the kilo at a huge mark up and Just repackaged in paper bags. Add that to the amount of unnecessary packaging that was added to your delivery from them compared with the 2 others....overall not great!
I look up to such a pretty woman with so much love for mother earth. Keep up the good work you are amazing. Very helpfull I love the planet & love the videos keep it up.
well, my council (not UK) explicitly states NOT to put organic foil bags into the food scrap bin they collect. They use a faster process that takes about a month for stuff to rot which is too short for bioplastic to break down and the foil clogs machinery. This might not be a problem on home compost heaps because there it might take longer. I suggest to check with your council before throwing such bags in the scrap bin
Haha 😂 it 's funny :) i m telling you, organic basmati doesn't really exist 😁 we use to make fun of this things with Indians 🇮🇳😁 this is the marketing part ;)

Do you already have a video about your worm bin? I would love one. Last year I killed some worms but want to build a better one this year.

Love this. I am definitely going to try zero waste club.
Thank you for this video! I have no bulk stores in my town so this is totally brilliant! Thanks!

Do you know of any sustainability/zero waste events in London that are coming up to learn more from?
Thanks Kate for sharing!
Amazing video, and so helpful! Love your channel
i wish zerowaste club would ship to america too. or start a location in america.
I dont suppose they ship to the US...? :/

Just one question, I noticed that the first company had no stickers while the 2nd & 3rd companies did use stickers. Are the stickers also compostable/made from NatureFlex?
Thank you for your reply! That's great to hear - I presumed all stickers were non-recyclable/non-compostable but that is great!

🙌
I truly appreciate you and your information. However, as a friendly suggestion, please try and sound check your room for your next film.
Using all with papper is also not good i think...paper made by wood and wood from forest....its not good for oxigen on earth....paper not reuseble
can you do a collab with someone zerowaste from america?
Great video!
Simpler Greener Mummy iii
Don't leave me hanging?! ;)
Please keep making content
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
It's not zero waste due to shipping but it is great because it is minimal.
I just found your videos within the last 12 hours or so and they are all great so far.
You could call it celluphane rather than cellophane
I wish that low/zero waste was possible when you have food allergies 😔😔😔
Haha 😂 it 's funny :) i m telling you, organic basmati doesn't really exist 😁 we use to make fun of this things with Indians 🇮🇳😁 this is the marketing part ;)
