I was a cutter and have over 200 scars. Every cut healed and got covered by and around the scars. I looked it up at it said i should see a doc. Apparently its not normal thats not to say internet searches are trustworthy. I was cutting for 20yrs. Started as anger and turned into a high. So got any advice for a 13yr old.

My husband had a small skin growth removed by a dermatologist, who initially thought it was a keritinaceous horn. The pathology report showed it was squamous cell carcinoma. They removed more skin in the area, and it came back clean. So don’t remove skin tags by yourself, even the experts can’t tell which are benign just by looking at the exterior.

I feel that regarding the girl who tattooed freckles, the commentary could have been about vetting for good people to do procedures on your skin, or perhaps about the sensitivity of skin on the face, but the remark saying basically that desiring freckles is whack because they're damage was not really the direction to take it lol. Ive been wearing sunscreen on my face every day and almost always a hat if it's really sunny, and the last time I got a sunburn on my face was when i was like 6 and i have a face full of freckles lol. While more freckles do appear more as a result of sun exposure if you already have the gene that causes them, most everything I've seen/read states that having freckles in and of themselves is not the result of sun damage, and even if the increased presence of them is physiologically the result of UV contact with the skin that's like saying your body creating vitamin D is the result of sun damage? idk the comment did not land. And I think the word "sun spot" already exists to describe freckles that specifically are from damage (burn)

I can't believe people are filing their teeth! I was screaming. If you file away all of your enamel you are just going to get cavities and have filings or the tooth removed anyway! The enamel protects your teeth, it's basically the shield that protects the soft sensitive inside of the tooth. Loose that and you have sensitive teeth and get cavities and other issues. One of the main reasons we brush, floss and use mouthwash is to protect our enamel and therefore our teeth and these people are just filing it all off!!

I know because I've had freckles since birth, I'm a shade off ginger, have green eyes and I live in England, a country where sun rarely penetrates the grey! Freckles are also very common in Scotland and Ireland, two other countries where light hair, light eyes and pale skin accompany them. the microneedling one is most likely using PMU pigments, not makeup. It’s a technic of micropigmentation aka semi-permanent makeup. it’s possible to do a session of 0.25 mm microneedling with pigments on the undereye and lips for a wedding, graduation, etc. it’s not as semi-permanent procedure like micropigmentation because it tends to last around 28 days max.

I also covered that thing in A&D cream and bandaids for like three weeks. It worked perfect, and I literally can’t even see where it used to be. I was super self conscious about it, because it was large, in a prominent spot, and it caused me pain often, because things would get stuck on it. I feel like I got lucky with the results and I never plan on doing it again.

If it nothing to worry about, I go home with a smile on my face. On the other hand I also do not discuss my concerns with my sister because she has a pill for everything. I was hospitalized when I broke my hip and before the operation, I was having spasms and when my sister came in to see me, she was telling me what I should take to relieve the discomfort. When the nurse came in, my sister mentioned it to the nurse and the nurse said, '' the broken hip is causing the spasms''.

Those of us with Gaelic heritage (I'm a mix of Irish, Scottish, Welch and English) have freckles naturally from birth, as was briefly mentioned and glossed over in this video. Calling freckles sun damage and asking why anyone would want them is pretty damaging to those of us who have them naturally. Obviously, some freckles are sun damage, but for me it's the asking why you'd want them that's a little rude. Given that they're a common phenomenon that occurs naturally mostly in white people, the narrative presented here feels really weird? It's a bit like saying the natural fold some asian people have on their eyelid is ugly (which isn't at all true, let's be clear), and why would you want eyes like that? It's just not okay to imply that a natural and beautiful trait that some people have is undesirable. I love my freckles, I've had them my whole life and they're adorable. People aren't trying to minic sun damage, they want to look like they have natural freckles.

I don't understand that thing with freckles should be sun damage. I live in the north of Scandinavia and me and many of my friends got freckles all the way through our youth and young adulthood. It wasn't until when we reached around 30 our freckles started to go away. Some of my school friends had freckles as kids and they went away, even though all of us had the same exposure to the sun. This isn't the same thing though... Permanent makeup is cosmetic but they're not using makeup, they're still using ink for the skin like a tattoo so it's definitely not the same and you shouldn't be microneedling makeup products into your skin because they're made to go on your skin, not in it and they have things in the products that shouldn't be in our skin, it's not even meant to be used on your skin for extended periods which is also why take your makeup off after the day is over.

I had some "anti aging" laser treatments done many years ago. My freckles were obliterated and I was really sad to see my face without them. I had freckles my whole life and they were part of my identity, even if I was bullied over them as a child - freckle face nanananana-na. The same laser treatments also melted the fat in my cheeks so while I looked a bit younger for a short time, I rapidly aged within a year and got jowls sooner than I should have. Don't do this to yourself, save up for a face lift with a good surgeon to tighten your skin, something I now want in my early 50's but won't be able to afford for a long time.

So, I’m really sick of the trend of “fake freckles” because it feels like turning something that a lot of people struggle with into a fashion accessory. That being said, the comments Dr. Youn made here were kind of just downright mean. It’s not bad to have freckles, and some people get them really easily. I don’t think people should be tattooing them on but to say “you do NOT want freckles” is really out of pocket.
