I've always called this suit the "Merch Suit" cuz it's like the default suit for almost every toy, backpack and almost every piece of spidey merch back in the day
There weren’t much access to images online nor were their as many artists back then with the resources we have now such as phones etc . So everyone would only use this render because it was all that was around and could be found. And finding artists to draw characters like this could be costly and or more difficult than just plastering something you see on a website or something
This suit is pretty much what you'd get if the Tobey Maguire suit was more comic accurate. Which I think was why I liked it. It was a hybrid of the movies and the comics by being the best classic looking suit ever
I find it really interesting that this became the spider-man plastered on anything and everything. I remember so much of the stuff I owned as a kid having this same render on it.
My favorite part of Kais Spider-Man show is when mj asked peter “Who are you?” And Peter said “Well, I’m Probably Spider-Man.” And it cut to black. Bravo Kai!
oh my god yes. I've had spider-man blankets, toys, books, coloring books, and everything based on this art style. I immediately recognized it when i saw the suit and dang i got excited. I feel really seen for all of this because i relate to kai so much as a teenage autistic person with a huge wide amount of knowledge of interest in spider-man myself and finding myself being able to completely understand what he means when he mentions one single obscure piece of spider-man media. I feel at home with this channel :]
I feel you Kody, I can't get enough of Kai and his streams. Just the way I eympathize with him and admire how he puts himself out there. You gotta be careful not to project too much but he's got this relatablility that snares you.
7:50 - This is one of the most realistic Spider-Man moments I've ever seen! Lol, it's like if "Spider-Man: Homecoming" was made by New Line Cinemas in 2001. Its a short clip, but the vibe feels like a reboot of Dan Poole's Spider-Man fan film "The Green Goblin's Last Stand" from the early 1990's.
I absolutely love this art style and design and I've always dreamed of and wondered what it would be like if someone would make an actual cosplay of it in reality. Now it's officially a reality, Thank you so much Probably Spider-Man for making this costume come to life!
When I think of Spider-Man, in just a general sense and not a specific version, Scott Johnson's is the one that comes to mind. His art was everywhere as a kid, and even today I still have Spider-Man blankets and an alarm clock with his art. Very nostalgic and very cool to see it made in real life!
I really love how it's basically the best amalgamation of every classic spiderman design with the raimi esgue lenses and the john romita Sr colors it just all comes together perfectly
The universal Spider-Man, it's the Spider-Man look that everyone knows and connect with one another with, it's beautiful and you've done it a service. Although you said this was just a suit video, I'm under the suspision that this was your demo performance for what is to come in your role as Peter Parker for your show. There are just moments in this video I think "Woah that's very Peter".
I love the different eras of Spider-Man merchandise outside movies and cartoons. It feels almost more definitive because that's the look that stays regardless of any cancellations or anything like that.
The merchandise is the spider man from our real world perspective and not from one single person or writer. This is how we would imagine Spider-Man if no one mentioned any specific version of him. I like that it feels like how Spider-Man always reverts to his advanced suit in the ps4 game. Even though we change the suit certain cutscenes will always register him as the yurilow spider that’s the case here with merchandise unless stated to be for a specific rendition of Spider-Man.
Man, this design was definitely part of my childhood. As a kid I had crayon box with Spider-Man on the cover and it was an artwork done by the same guy. Dunno if it was a legit box or a bootleg but it's still part of my memories. I think I also saw this design in pencil boxes, stickers, toys, etc. It was almost everywhere alongside the Raimi suit.
This is probably my favorite suit I've seen so far. I would love to have a suit that looks like this, I feel this design take the most expressive parts of Spider-Man's design and reflects the charm of his character.
Love this design for Spidey, absolutely takes me back to my childhood. One of the very few looks for Spidey where he's considerably buff and I'm more than stoked on it.
This suit was everywhere I loved it so much I have a freaking box with him on it and even an old dirty and sandy figure This suit is a masterpiece 10/10
Bummer it got ripped, still a well done suit. So many fond memories of seeing this Spider-Man on lots of stuff, the art really gives me 90s animated series/Raimi Spidey vibes. Scott Johnson is the 🐐
It's kind of cool to imagine this is a little bit like what Peter Parker has to go through making his costumes. And with Miguel O'Hara's suit, not only do you have a sweet Spider-Man 2099 suit. You also have a backup Dia de Los Muertos suit, too.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. These kind of suits with obvious stitching, seams, and actually separating it o multiple pieces are so much better than the Hollywood one-piece suits in all the movies (designs are still good, it’s just how they keep acting like these suits that have no seams whatsoever somehow separate into different pieces and cover up all imperfections). It actually looks like a suit that can be made at home (because it was) and something that can be worn under the clothes. I’d love for a spider-man movie to have the suit include visible zippers and external water shoes that blend into the design (like in the Miles Morales game), gloves/boots/mask/pants/shirt that actually separate and look like they can separate without looking “bad”, etc
@@-Teague- In a shot when Peter is saving Jack in the car, we can see a clear seam for the glove where it separates from the rest of the sleeve (different texture on the blue, and even on a slightly raised level). And the mask even seems to have a built-in face shell in-universe
@@moviehermit5631 mhm in the scene where the police have shot Peter in the leg and he's sitting on the ground looking at George Stacy you can see the line where the face shell ends and it's just cloth
Always disliked perfect suits in Spiderman movies ( Andrew Garfield and after ) Peter barely knows sewing , and builds his costume at home , , ,but the stupid Hollywood hero suits look like the used a team of researchers and a grant from NASA to build a simple teenager's suit that he was supposedly able to sew together after sneaking his Aunt's sewing machine into his bedroom for a few odd nights , , , I was born in 1977 an my favorite Spiderman suit was his Black symbiote suit from the 1980s , it seemed more sophisticated and more practical for sneaking up on bad guys at night , , you know black like a Ninja with enormous spider-logo , , , 👍👽
Growing up this suit was literally everywhere. It was on my lunch box, but pencil cases, I had a back pack with it, even a freaking cup. Damn those where the good times.
We remember that Spider-Man in the merchandise before the Ultimate Spider-Man took over. He seemed more like a real Spider-Man because he wasn't so skinny like the recent 2017 Spider-Man in the merchandise. Cool suit by the way! Looks great!👍
I really like your stitch work. Regardless of the tear hahaha. But it feels very classic, especially with that back spider. You captured the look and feel of Scott's art
This is awesome!! Been following Scott Johnson for every now but it feels like his og Spider-Man is really making a comeback now!! This suit will live on forever!!
This man is my childhood! I remembered him on puzzles, toys, coloring books, hell even those weird sugar candy sticks that were supposed to be Spider-Man's webs
Bro I had blankets and PJ’s with that version of Spider-Man back then. I always wondered who drew him for all that merchandise. It’s a shame he never got a comic run where he looked like this.
Scott Johnson's Spider-Man and another one (I can't remember the name for the life of me but it was the one from the retellings of the first few ASM issues that was in my school library) are my definitive childhood Spider-Man. They're the first 2 that pop into my head since they were the ones I always saw
This Spider-Man along with the 2003 Batman toy line (not to be confused with the 2003 cartoon even though that show is cool too) is so amazing and nostalgic. I rebought some of the toy line on eBay
That was fantastic and you did something that many comics don't which drives me crazy, it's a nit pick but I hate it when the web pattern stops behind the spider on the front, like if you removed the spider on the front you could see a gap, but at 2.22 I can see that you had the pattern continue, it's a small detail that I love, this is probably my favourite Spider-Man costume so it was awesome to see live.
when i saw the suit mod first pop up on my twitter feed, I absolutely coomed. I love that the internet has allowed me to follow the man that made the spiderman art that defined my childhood. he's an icon.
I remember seeing this Spider-Man everywhere when I was growing up I had it on pillow sheets and blankets and books I really love this art work and your suit is really good it looks just like it
You see this suit almost everywhere and on almost every merchandise and sometimes in hospitals when they have picture frames this brings a bunch of nostalgia
I used to have a stuffed animal toy of that Spider-Man suit, but then my parents put it into the attic, and when they took it out of the attic, they threw it away in the trash, I miss that stuffed toy
I was in my twenties and considered myself a veteran fan when this artwork was everywhere, so for someone to consider it "nostalgic" makes me feel _really_ old...
Thanks so much man! I got really excited when I saw your thumbnail. This really brings back the memories of all of the coloring books I used to do. (I also liked the video lol. Keep up the good work!)
The Old PS1 SpiderMan games also had this one as well. I liked this version because he was bulky and agile, and seemed very iconic. Every other character in the 90s and 2000s were going through this modernization of their iconic looks, whereas Spideys content creators at the time, made a image that was a amalgam of the most conservative representations of Spidey from every generation. This version of Spiderman used in Marketing throughout the 90s up until and even around Tobey Maguire Sam Raimi Spiderman era is the imagery that helped push Spidey into the iconic aura that Batman and Superman had at the time. 1.) Superman 2.) Batman 3.) Spiderman 4.) Wolverine 5.) Captain America Are the most classic and timeless in their marketing imagery throughout generations
God this is so clean, I love it! It's super satisfying to me how you always build the suits in pieces apart from a onesie. That's something most cosplays do which always cause an itch in my brain I can't scratch. Keep em' coming!
I still to this day have figures, bedsheets, and a light switch cover with the "Spider-Sense" Spider-Man branding, this era following the Ultimate/Raimi/ToyBiz Marvel Legends Spider-Man era of my childhood. The early to mid 2000's we're the very best time to grow up with the character and his world, and I cherish those memories to this day.
I remember getting a pair of shoes with his art on the box for them as a kid and I remember just staring and admiring the art and loving the eyes on the mask, Amazing recreation and damn good colors more suits need bright colors like this and less doo doo colors. The ending is golden too btw 🤟
I was struggling in math as a child. I had a little math book that had spider man related math questions such as "if green goblin throws 5 out 10 pumpkin bombs how many does he have left". These drawings were everywhere and even as a huge fan of the Rami trilogy, this is how I see spider man in my head.
This suit is awesome, probably my favorite one you've made now. Great video too, wish you'd show a little bit more of the creation process and more shots of the completed suit. These videos are always so concise which I appreciate but this video could easily be like 15 minutes and still keep my full attention.
I didn’t even grow up in the time period in the early 2000s and I still recognize this suit. Also that helicopter thing was hella hilarious, but it would’ve been terrible if you made it on the news. I wonder how that would’ve turned out.
4 hours ago I saw a meme that said “ ‘Tom is the best. ‘No Andrew is the best.’ ‘No Tobey is the best’” and then the real best Spider-Man was that 2000s guy. Funny enough I am currently sitting on top of a blanket with the Fantastic 4 and that 2000s Spider-Man in the middle. HE IS EVERYWHERE EVEN TO THIS DAYYYYYYYYYY
This Spidey needs to appear in Across the Spider-Verse or Beyond the Spider-Verse. Come on SONY! Do it! I also love how this version is strictly, and I do mean STRICTLY, Spider-Man. We never see him with as little as a damaged mask. So we never know what Peter looks like, and we never see side characters like MJ, Aunt May, Gwen, Harry, Flash, etc. We only ever see this Spider-Man and his rogues gallery. One last thing. Along with Tobey, this Spidey was my childhood Spider-Man. PSM isn’t kidding when he says he’s everywhere! Heck, I could probably still go to my local Walmart or Target and see this Spidey on a coloring book or something.
I grew up with that costum it was cool I liked the colors they're definitely some other designs that look much better but it's just nostalgic to see this design again I tried to look for this specific look for Spider-Man now I know thanks 😁👍
I always called this the “Universal Studios Spider-Man” when i was a kid cuz cuz it reminded me of all the shirts and merch they have in the store and I remember owning a puzzle wit this spider man and had it taped to my wall all thru elementary prob the ideal spiderman look and the first spidey costume that comes to mind when i think of spiderman other then tobeys suit.
OH MY GOD I HAVE LIKE 5 POSTERS OF THAT SPIDER-MAN IN MY ROOM this is such a huge piece of nostalgia for me! I grew up with this dude! Thanks so much for making this, you did a great job!!!
I remember for one of my birthdays as a kid my mother threw me a party where some family members and friends came over, and the theme was this exact Spider-Man and everything was emblazoned with that kind of aesthetic
Jesus christ, i remember when i was 5, my mom used to buy me all sorts of spiderman merch and all of them had this spidey custom, every. single. one. Even my toothbrush had the spider sense suit, lmao
Bro you don't know how much nostalgia literally flooding my brain when showed that Spiderman like I used to see that Spiderman in all the coloring books, stickers, posters and most of all the backpacks way back in elementary school and now that u think of it I used to grab one of the stickers which had his rogues gallery of villains and would ask people who they were which was how I got intoduce to characters such as vulture, rhino, electro, sandman, venom, carnage, the lizard, and the green goblin ah good times fr
The nostalgia this suit conjures is immeasurable.
So true.

I’ve decided I’m going to search for a word that can replace nostalgia, because nostalgia is overused as hell.
2:50 to 3:05 made me smile. Not because you ripped your suit, but the way you reacted sounded like how Spidey would. A true Peter Parker moment.
That’s what I thought too

Very accurate Peter Parker response.

I’ve seen these way way too much. I see them till this day too. The costume looks amazing too!
Maybe a tad light on the blue but you could airbrush muscle structure with a darker shade.
The spider sense Spider-Man should have been a show
Bro, FAXXXXXX.
I had bedsheets and curtains with this Spider-Man. Cool to see people remember him again. 👍
This is just pure nostalgia, The spider sense spider-man brand of spider-man was really the 2010’s kids version of spider-man.
When I was growing up this and shattered dimensions were I knew about the character the most also the all the movies
OH MY GOD
I HAVE LIKE 5 POSTERS OF THAT SPIDER-MAN IN MY ROOM
this is such a huge piece of nostalgia for me! I grew up with this dude! Thanks so much for making this, you did a great job!!!
You continue to prove that it isn’t unbelievable for Peter Parker to create a good looking Spider-Man costume on a budget
The suit looked like the actual art come to life man , would've been sick of the helicopter got you🔥
I remember for one of my birthdays as a kid my mother threw me a party where some family members and friends came over, and the theme was this exact Spider-Man and everything was emblazoned with that kind of aesthetic
Jesus christ, i remember when i was 5, my mom used to buy me all sorts of spiderman merch and all of them had this spidey custom, every. single. one. Even my toothbrush had the spider sense suit, lmao
If I was making a animated Spider-Man show, that's the suit I'd used. Good job of bringing this suit to life, my man.
