Hi I'm Wendy a resin artist and crafter.
In this video I am trying out a brand new mixer from Istoyo and using their chess set for the project in hand.
I will try and give you as much detail as i can about both.

Hi there. plz dont think im goofy(i am, but.)lol...i get kinda "star struck" when i message big time tubers(thats what i call em..lol)....anyhow, im new to resin, and very new to youtube! but, this chess set just HIT me!! i am deff gonna take this technique to my sets! ive done domino sets, and i did a storage box for my blue and gold set. but i got a new chess set mold about 2 months ago, but got intimidated all the sudden! lol...ANYHOW, i wanted to say, i love your work!! i watch your channel ALL THE TIME! i think ive seen everything youve done so far!! i just started my channel, got about 31 or 32 vids out as of today..i hope to get as good as u someday!! plz keep doin ur vids! ur an inspiration to all of us!!

OH BOY! im bout to show just how new i am!!..loll. i was asked this the other day, and i gave the name i choose, which was Baby's corner. but they said it was not coming up...and so, i havent been able to figure out why yet..lol..editing is kickin my butt. im editing around 10hrs a day, so i forgot to look into why its not coming up! uhg..lol

I love the less is more approach you took with this. It turned out absolutely beautiful. That black you used for the last bit of resin is incredible. It looked like a sheet of black glass. Wow!❤

@Toonpish to be fair I think any of them would be fab as jar lid holders. I used something similar to the top part of the rook as a holder on a princess themed pot for my granddaughter 😊

I have family members who play chess and I’ve thought about doing a set for them but I was too intimidated. You always make things look easy. Your tutorials are straight forward and your projects turn out so beautiful. I think I’m going to have to try. 💚

Can I throw out a request 4 a future project? I absolutely adored the chess board u made with the Dragon stickers & lights as a collab. I think in that video u said if u made it again u wouldn’t use as many stickers. Thought it be a gr8 project to revisit, and put a new spin on it…less stickers? Someday when I stop being afraid of the editing part of content, I think I will make a themed board as my 1st video😊I think it’s a gr8 project for viewers that are new to resin & intimidated by the multiple steps. Love the idea of giving tips to help em bang out an incredible piece they can be very proud of! My favorite part of watching resin tutorials is any little hacks that make things easier & levels up our work! Thanks for sharing ur journey!

I literally just got the last istoyo mixer in December, I wish I’d known a new one was on the way! The stand, extra paddles, and drip tray are all excellent upgrades!

They are just a hint around the outside edge in a diamond shape 😀😀😀 really does look nice 👌 😀💜
It would be hard work. But I'd love to have a plug to be able to out in the centre of something like these chess piece. (Not specifically them but something similar) fill up with the starry sky around the outside then give it a black (or white)core after removing the plug. I imagine it would give a lovely effect.
I don't have any of the starry sky, I ordered different ones from else where and never got them, 3 times. I started to suspect it didn't exist lol.

That mixer looks really neat but not much use for me as I rarely mix more than 50 ml at a time. The pigments, especially the purple one, stole the show for me 💜 and the detailed knight piece.
I think we are on the same page with those pigments and that horse 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

I use uv resin to create the squares on my chess boards and then hit it with a light and finish the rest of the board with 2 part resin. I couldn't get my squares to stay in their space and not intrude on the next square.

Great video Wendy. Am I just missing something on camera because it seems like you lost all of the Aurora pigment except around the very edges of the chessboard when you put the black on the back is it just around the edges or am I not seeing it correctly?
Yes it was only ever going to be seen around the edge 😀😀 but it’s a colour highlight in a diamond shape 😀💜👍
If you have arthritic fingers as I do, this will save me a lot of aching hands.

I usually use isopropyl alcohol but a long neck lighter if I’m doming 😀😀❤️👍
What’s the AI button for on the mixer?
It mixes for 4 minutes, changing from forward to backward on the way and stops when it’s done 😀😀😀
