Everyone always talks about the clown when it comes to Poltergeist, but what fucked me up as a kid was that guy peeling his own face off. I saw that shit in my sleep for weeks.
Lady in White…there are some genuinely intense scenes in that movie. All the stuff in the school closet. As a dad now, I can’t imagine letting my younger kids watch some of the stuff we did in the 80s.
We’ve all had those movies we saw as a kid and then years later try and remember them. I remember when burning DVD’s became a thing Ibwent back and searched for all the movies I forgot about. I would just type scenes into google…here were the ones from my childhood (not all are creepy) Invaders From Mars (1986) D.A.R.Y.L Fortress (austrailian movie about the kidnapped classroom) Lady In White (which was on your list) Peanutbutter Solution (also on your list) Theres honestly still one more that I just vaguely remember and its so vague I cant even give details for someone to help. Peanutbutter Solition and Neverending story didnt creep me out personally. But Peanutbutter Solution WAS one of those movies I had to go back and find as an adult
I had the same experience with watcher in the woods,i watched it with my parents, and when i told them it was too scary, they just laughed and said, "But it's a movie for kids.
I'm a little older than you. I was 17 and graduated from high school in 1985. I found "Return To Oz" interesting because it was an amalgamation of several of the L. Frank Baum "Oz" books like the lady who changed heads. I'm surprised you didn't include "Mr. Boogedy" a made-for-TV Disney movie that was shocking because it was targeted at kids at 7 pm on a Sunday night! 😮
Yayyyyyyy! Imagine my excitement when you start this list with my two favorite creepy kids movies. Peanut Butter Solution was so wild. The fact that it's about a kid who gives money to a hobo (I think he calls them winos which is hilarious) and in return the hobo comes back as a ghost to tell a little kid how to regrow his hair is a trip. Watcher in the Woods is amazing, I'm surprised it's not number 1. The scene from Alice when the women turns into a sheep saying "better - much baaaaah-ter" has lived rent free in my head since I was 7. I saw Hugga Bunch at a birthday party and thought it was so weird but totally forgot about it until now. Lady in White is outstanding! Great list, as always!

I remember my 6 or 7 year old younger sister had nightmares from this movie (Poltergeist), that and Jaws. Why was she watching it? Well, Thank my older cousin for that.
Invaders From Mars (its a remake but it was creepy) - 1986 Monster Squad E.T. (Well known but definitly had some creepy parts) I know theres more but those are off the top of my head
I saw lady in white, once. I'm in the uk. It was on at 11pm. I was maybe 8. It terrified me but I could tell it wasn't great. However I'm 39 now and desperately want to see it again. Did not expect it to appear in this video. I'd recommend paperhouse. Not seen it since I was 12 but it was weird and creepy.
I grew up with my Aunt and Uncle in the early 80's (I was about 9 to 12 at the time). My older cousin would come in rent these horror VHS/Beta tapes and he tell me, check this out Jerry. So, I watched some insane stuff at that age, like Carrie, Halloween, The Thing (Carpenters), Friday the 13th.....yep he didn't care he wanted to scare the crap out of me, most of the time it worked. Plus, a lot of those movies are some of my favorites now. Also, my Aunt would blow a gasket when she walked I and saw what I was watching. RIP Aunt, Uncle and Cousin. Those were fun times for sure.
When we watched Something Wicked This Way Comes and the Appalachian Folk tales series in my 7th and 8th grade English classes, I was amazed that they had us watch anything that creepy!
thats so funny, we watched watcher in the woods in school in 5th grade around halloween LOL. We built different lol.. hope you stick around the channel.. Love talking this stuff
@Born2BeRad my parents wouldn't let me watch horror movies so I didn't have much experience then (except at slumber parties.) Once I was in my 20s I watched everything I could find and eased my son into them while explaining that it's all makeup, acting, and special effects. Now I watch horror movies and horror documentaries late at night, by myself, with no lights on. And work in Spirit Halloween.
Watched Neverending Story and Caravan of Courage a lot as a kid. Little Monsters was one of the first movies I ever saw, but couldn't find it for many years.
I remember The PeanutButter Solution showing on Nickelodeon when it was still a cool channel out of Canada. The extended version of Watcher in the Woods makes a lot more sense.

Making Contact and Ghost Chase from Roland Emmerich are a couple of creepy ones from the 80's. I didn't see Making Contact as a kid but it would've freaked me out.

The child dropped the glass jar and the balls disappeared. I don't remember the importance of the balls but I do remember how devastated I was watching that scene. I think that's why the memory stuck. For almost 40 years I've been trying to find that movie again - searching google and writing on forums to see if my description sounded familiar to anyone. No luck. ...and now my search is over... The Hugga Bunch movie!!! Thank you so much for adding it to your list! I knew right away when you showed the scene of the witch getting old that this was it. poltergeist wasnt for kids. PG doesnt mean its for kids

@@mikepariseau9728parental guidance mean the parent is there for guidance…and who is the parent there for? Another parent?
@@andy1181-l3m it means it’s ok for a kid to watch not that it’s meant for kids
@@mikepariseau9728 well if you’re trying to get technical the rating doesnt decide who the movie was “made” for. The producers dont give the rating. The producers make the movie who they wanna make it for and then its given a rating
Watched Return To Sleepaway Camp with my kid yesterday. Does that count?

The ending of that movie is absolute nightmare fuel. I’ll never ever forget that damn scene.
