I vaguely remember seeing this when I was 9. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow scared the hell out of me. I've been searching for it ever since with no luck. Until now. Thank you so much for posting this!
"the house with the clock in it's walls" was my favourite of these. Vincent pitching his delivery at the young viewers who are being encouraged to read books is perfect, the lovable and slightly odd and scary uncle you always look forward to visiting.
Vincent Price was probably one of the best if not the best in the world as a character actor and his style of acting was unbelievable, he could memorize not just all his lines but the person he was speaking to lines as well, he has probably the most recognized voice in horror movies R.I.P.
Good 'ol Vincent 😌!! Loved him since, I was a kid 😁!!! Just when I thought, I've seen just about every Vincent Price movie, ever made, then this!! This one slipped by me, back then, and I haven't seen it run, on cable since. This was highly entertaining, and educational, too. Check out the actor playing Ichabod. It's the same actor, from 'Benson'.
I am a huge fan of Vincent Price, too, and I have been one ever since the 1970s. I even had a crush on him from late 1973 to mid-1978. I loved watching his movies on television and on UA-cam, and I always liked watching him on the Hollywood Squares and listening to his witty answers to the questions that he was being asked. I wish I could have met him personally while he was still alive, but I only met him in dreams that I had back in the 1970s.
Remember this scaring the hell out of me when I was a kid--Sleepy Hollow in particular. To this day when I think of Rene Auberjonois, I think of Ichabod Crane. Night, alone in the woods, the Headless Horseman patiently shadowing his next victim. Uggh! I'm an old man and this still gets me.
50:35 Vincent's trademark, ghoulish laughter - which he used to such brilliant (and lucrative) effect on Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' 4 years after this, in 1983. "BWA! HA! HA! HA! HA"
Checking out as this was the first filmed version of "The House With The Clock In Its Walls"...I wonder if Uncle Jonathan was based on legendary magic aficionado Orson Welles as it seems the actors in this version and the feature film resemble him...
I am an expert on the legend of sleepy hollow. did you know the headless horseman has been scaring people for 200 years since he lost his head on Tuesday in 1776 October 26 at the white plains battle ground (aka) chatterson's hill
Poor Tarby had to explain to his mother why he had a dirty pair of underwear for her to wash. Probably just told her that he was out someplace and had go all of a sudden and there was no bathroom nearby so he wound up having an accident in his pants. That still wouldn't explain what he was doing out in the middle of the night.
I think I watched this sometime around the late 1990s and it scared me pretty bad! Had all but forgotten about it, only remembered the horseman throwing his head and the clock ticking inside the walls. Finally found it after so many years. The story selection is pretty good and Vincent Price is his charming self. But the acting is terrible overall! Rene Auberjonois from the second segment and the child actor in the last segment are especially bad.
Jeepers! I really hope the 2018 movie ("The House With a Clock In Its Walls") is better than this terrible third segment of it! This 1979 version is SO awful! LOL!!!

I agree,
He was always so enthusiastic about his acting & love for horror & the macabre.
A true Legend that can't be replaced.
I just love EVERYTHING Vincent Price did! Even the cheesy things are classic. He was a true master. 💕
He was a top notch pro in everything he did...even the “cheesy things”!
He was a class act ...
Agree ! I love the great DISTRACTION factor he provides ❤much needed here
The nostalgia is overwhelming!!! Haven't seen this in 20+ yrs. Never could remember the name. Thank you!!!

This gentleman was a class act
Horror movie 🎥 genius
Truly he was! I was lucky enough to have met him once and the reality matched the legend.
I’ve loved this for decades. The music is actually quite good, very eerie and evokes that perfect Halloween vibe.
Vincent price could make the ingredients on a cereal box sound epic, with his voice.
6:17 "But you didn't come here to learn my name".
No, darling, we know it. That's why we came- to SEE YOU.

No, I had no idea the Sleepy Hollow was that old! I love it too,
especially the Jeff Goldblum version.
I could have sworn it was on a Wednesday. ;)

Inspired casting, for sure!
Thanks for posting this. The best version I have seen
René AUBERJONOIS , un clown génial !
It’s quite interesting seeing Odo on a horse. Maybe he’s in one of Julian’s holosuite programs.
Maybe he's also the horse
Halloween is here!
Patrick J. Petersen was adorable here as Tarby.
criminal cornball

Funny that you included the anti-piracy statement in something you pirated
