Changing the valve cover gaskets in a 2006 Honda Pilot with a 3.5 j35 j35a9 engine. Video also shows how to get to the spark plugs if you are changing those.
Great walkthrough process. I have to do this for my little sisters car and you just gave me so much more confidence on the job. It doesn’t look hard at all just the things in the way that look time consuming.
Regarding the tube seals: the socket hammer method did work, but I did note a bit of damage to the rubber on the tube seal from the socket. I'd say consider using the drive side of the socket towards the seal. This video helped me so much, I could not get that darned rear valve cover out from under the wire harness, but your video helped me figure out the angle and approach!
Great video, thank you so much. I am trying to muster the bravery to open the manifold to clean fuel injectors and replace if leaky, and this video is of immense help
I have to do this to a saturn vue... it has a Honda pilot motor in it same as your working on..going to start it tomorrow thanks for the video this will help me lots...
That’s not tooo bad, it just looks like a pain, are there any wires or hoses you make sure to handle with extra care? Which ones can get tricky to remove and replace? I’m just glad you don’t really need any special tools like with your bearings (still another thing I need to do

Love this video. Shows how to do coils, spark plugs, and valve cover gaskets, per maintenance minder. THANK YOU
I'm only 1:04 into the video and I already love how you explain and present. Very nice touch with the lines for illustration

You made the back side look too easy, gawd dam, getting those coils in/out was a pain in the ass
Excellent walk through !

I'm getting some burning oil smell in the cabin, especially when idling, is this a sign of a valve cover gasket leak?

Great Video thanks for posting.
How long did it take you to do?
What cain of gasket are those..did they came together in the same bag
Thanks :)
Has anyone had any luck by just tightening the bolts with the old gasket to slow/stop the leak?
Some part of disconnecting the parts shouldn’t be fast forward ⏩ in this video. It would’ve been more helpful..
Video can be slowed down on UA-cam.
Anyone know if its the same for a 2006 Honda Ridgeline?
yep same thing. Ridgeline, Odessey, Pilot, MDX share the same engine
