You probably remember it from The Wedding Singer, Adam Sandler sings it at a wedding reception after his girlfriend breaks up with him.
"Well I have a microphone and you don't. SO YOU WILL LISTEN TO EVERY DAMN WORD I HAVE TO SAY!"
This song is iconic in "The Wedding Singer" (1998)
🎤🤘
When he stares right into the faces of the bride and groom while singing and adds "I hate you!" to the bride.... just kills me. So funny
One of the top 10 movies of all time
Yup, that movie is where Brad likely heard it before! Still one of my favorite hard rock songs of all time ! RIP J.Giles !!
I always think the woopdedoo and I hate you part 😆
These guys have a live version of 'Musta Got Lost' that's absolutely phenomenal.
My old man would blast that on Sunday mornings alongside the rolling stones to wake us kids up. Right in the nostalgics
"Open up the door b*tch. This is Wooba Gooba with the green teeth. Let me in."
@@afterhours21711 "That bowling ball... it's My WIFE!!!"
@@afterhours21711 "What's the name of that chick with the hair?" "Repunzel!" "Reputa? Hey Reputa! Reputa the Beauta!"
@@davidkulmaczewski4911 Raputa the Buta flip me down your hair let me climb
up to the ladder of your love!!
Because this is the wooba gooba sayin to ya
"Love comes once and when it comes
you better grab it fast cuz sometimes the love
you grab aint going to last
Yes! Do the live version of 'Musta Got Lost'. Great song and J Geils is some much f'in fun!
J. Geils band, one of the best groups to come out of Boston in the early 70's, along with Aerosmith. Peter Wolf is a dynamo in concert, and all the musicians, J. Geils, Danny Klein, Seth Justman, Steven Jo Bladd and Magic Dick, were TipTop and full of energy. And this song has a lot of weight to it, even though it is done in a fun way.
Detroit may them greater
@@jbburns1957 Full House is an awesome live album, I wore mine out.
@@jbburns1957 💯 They, like many rockers not actually from Detroit, made Rock City their home away from home.
@@Steve-cm2ys please look at the history Detroit and Michigan
@@jbburns1957 I was born and raised in southwest Detroit, Michigan and already know the history. YOU look up the history.
These guys were a lot of fun in concert. Saw them warm up for the Stones in 75. Peter Wolf is a great front man.
I agree. Saw their last concert before Peter left.
they put on an AMAZING show... something like 4 hours...
When my mom and dad heard this song on the radio when it came out, they laughed like crazy.🤣🤣🤣
Maybe you guys didn't have much to say, but you guys laughed and smiled when the chorus started, and it's those real "reactions" that people love. It's your expressions, excitement, wonder, distaste, etc. Those are relatable moments. We can't rehear songs for the first time, but we can take pleasure in sharing others first time.
not much to say about a fun but simple song
Such a great old 70s Band. "Peter Wolf", and "Magic Dick" the Harmonica player, spit out some tasty tunes, and a lot of Funk.
magic dick is more known as their saxophonist than as "the harmonica player"
The perfect antidote to Valentines Day shmoopiness!
"Shmoopiness" 🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍
OKAY...SHMOOPIES...
Adam Sandler did a hilarious performance of this song in The Wedding Singer ("Cindy and Scott are newlyweds! WHOOPITY-DOO!").
By the way, the lead singer of the J. Geils band, Peter Wolf, has a solo hit called "Lights Out" that I'm sure will make Lex bounce around on the couch.
Early J. Geils is epic! Got to listen to "Musta Got Lost" from the live LP "Blow Your Face Out". The intro alone is worth it. Everyone my age still laughs about Raputa the Beauta!!! They went a little pop in the eighties, but the early stuff rocks!
GOTTA include the Wolf rap intro!!
@@davidteller7681 Best intro ever!
Complete misuse of the word epic. Absolutely meaningless.
@@gheller2261 Since you pointed out this grammatical faux pas, I will somehow have to pick up the pieces of my shattered life and learn to move on. Lol. I do know the proper way to use the word "anal" in a sentence, but I think you already know. Have a great evening.
@@patches1589What a silly response. You did not make a grammatical faux pas. Like most do today because they think the word is cool, you misused the word epic. No band is "epic"? (especially this mediocre band). I'm not being anal (and misused that word as well in this context). I'm just begging people to use their brains and find better adjectives to save our precious language and cut out the laziness.
This music video was HILARIOUS. I can still remember cracking up with my brothers about the guy sleeping with the fish in bed!
Who else heard this in Adam Sandler's Voice in their head?
Not me! I'm sick and tired of that film being associated with this song. I heard the song exactly as it is. Exactly like people heard it before that film.
Jo Jo Gunne. Run, Run, Run. A hidden nugget to listen to later.I can relate to this song. I'm 64, single. No more broken ❤ s. Because" Love Stinks".
Its like being a freshman in high school when you have a crush on a girl in your class and she wants a senior and he wants a varsity cheerleader. Everybody loses and love stinks, yeah yeah.
🤣🤣🤣 exactly!!
Killer old-school classic! Loved this waaaay back when. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
They were such a great live band. I saw them live in the late 70s (before this song came out) and it was in a football stadium at a festival and they had the entire stadium on their feet for their whole set. Such an energetic and amazing live band.
Peter Wolf at his best. Always delivered the catchy lyrics!
The live version of Musta Got Lost (Somewhere Down The Line) is up there too.
ua-cam.com/video/QDBoPLCeMKA/v-deo.html
This is one of the funnest groups to see in concert.
Definitely my fave J. Geils song. It's been referenced on Simpsons a few times, and Adam Sandler did his own rendition in Wedding Singer, which is a movie worth checking out sometime if you get the chance.
I'd like you guys to listen to "Whamma Jammer" by J. Geils. It's purely a Instrumental, so Lex would love it. I consider it the Sonic equivalent of a Triple Shot of Expresso.
Centerfold and Freeze Frame are two other hits from them that are definitely worth listening to. Peter Wolf went solo in the 80's after they disbanded. Love Bites from Def Leppard is a must!
You forgot about Comeback...and Angel In Blue off from Freeze-Frame
My bro had this album on vinyl!!!
So funny. So good.
What song had a lyric:
"OMG!!! That bowling ball..it's my wife!!"
HAHAHAHA!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥👍🎸💯❤️
No anchovies please was the name
A band I grew up with. They were originally called J Geils Blues Band but eventually dropped the "Blues" out of their name. In the early days before coming famous, I saw them for $5.00 at a place called the Surf Ballroom in Hull, MA. They were a great band to see live. Their first hit was "You Got To Give To Me." A little sultry but a classic.
The entire first lyric has happened to many of us. Love this song. Check out an older song called "Give it to me" first big hit, a party mood.
I think you’re right Lex! Some people just love all the drama! Great song. Fun band!🌺✌️
Love this even more than Centerfold but it's so true unfortunately, lol, Congrats on 200k👍
I completely forgot about this song. This group has such a deep and fun discography.
Who was lucky enough to see them back n the day. Especially in and around the Motor city! Killer live band! Brad here's some songs of theirs you need to react to from the album blow your face out! Trust me Brad you don't need the lyrics, you will be able to pick up everything their laying down. Gotta listen to these songs from this album! Musta got lost, where did our love go, Truck driving man, (Ain't nothing but a) house party, Detroit breakdown, and Give it to me.
Angel in Blue. Its got the great line "And she never had dreams, so they never came true."
So, now we have to do Musta Got Lost...live of course. Pleeeeeeeeeeez :)
Wooba Gooba
I can still do it by heart, haven't heard it in YEARS
this album is so good.."just cant wait" "comeback" "nightime"
Nightmare is short but highly under rated
They used to play the music video of this song before the midnight showing of "Rocky Horror Picture Show" and I LOVED it! The drummer has these "fish hands" with which he plays the drums at the beginning, and it is super hilarious!
Hands down, the most fun I ever had at a concert. It truly was a huge house party.
Peter Wolfe played out in Templeton MA sometime late 80s, early 90s. Saw him there. He knew someone at my table. He came over between sets and hung with us. Very cool dude.
J. Geils concert 1979. Standing in front of the speaker upfront my ears rang for 3 weeks. The guy next to me threw up on my shoe. Fun times.
I remember this song new and it still rocks!! also, true.
This song Is so needed many times through life LOVE STINKS !! LOL
She's groovin' on this, but the dude looks worried........LOL!
I saw them probably 6 times in the late 70’s early 80’s best live band ever , Peter Wolf best front man.
I lost it at 'octagons'. LOL
Every time I hear Brad say, "I think I've heard this somewhere before." I immediately think,... "Guitar Hero".
" I'm looking for a love" is their best, in my opinion. Definitely should check it out
This was a great song while going to high school back in the 80's ,it had that fun doo wop sound to it ,
great party song an not too heavy!.😎
Great review & reaction you two!..👍👍
Harkens back to the call of the 80's were coming👍❤😂
You definitely have lots of material worth checking out with this band. So many great tunes. I grew up in Massachusetts and as others have said. J Geils band was one of the best.
Great in concert. Videos were massive back then. Great choice for reaction!
The entire "Love Stinks" album is great. It's just a good old fashion hard, sleazy R&R record. One of my favorites.
OK, so here are a few reaction suggestions from me: "A Pirate Looks at Forty" Jimmy Buffet , "Southern Cross" Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, "Like a Rock" Bob Seger, "Pink Houses" John Mellencamp, "Let Her Cry" Hootie and the Blowfish. "Sweet Child O' Mine" Guns and Roses.
First…absolutely correct, love stinks…second saw them in 81 backing up The Rolling Stones…great show btw.
The lead singer, Peter Wolf, also did solo work. Check out his song called, "Lights Out"
Brad and Lex ... Love stinks but your channel just rocks on.
I saw these guys seven towns in concert when I was a teenager I love them
J Geils Bloodshot Album on Red vinyl classic Jazz Blues 1973 I learned many harmonica licks from it, check out, Back to Get Ya ! Centerfold was another Big hit around the same time as, Love Stinks. Really like your reactions had to comment on J Geils I wore the grooves out on his albums
Adam Sandler sings this song in the movie “ The Wedding Singer “ a romantic comedy with Drew Barrymore that is very funny 😄
This is my all-time favorite band. When you went to their show, they made sure nobody was sitting in the seats. Every person was in the isles dancing and having a great time. I saw them 5 times and every show were just as great as the last. WHY ARE THEY NOT IN THE ROCK HALL? You have to check out the live version of Musta Got Lost from the album Blow Your Face Out by this band.
Great album, one of my favorites! You really need to do more J Geils!
We love Lex and she loves someone else. Yup Love Stinks! :) I love you guys! Keep it up!
I wanna hear the OG "Wooba gooba with the green teeth..." -- Musta got lost!
This was in a hilarious movie with French Stewart called "Love Stinks".
Love octagons! LMAO!!! As JK says below, Musta Got Lost is a good one.
My first concert…1976 at Tulane Stadium in New Orleans…The J. Geils Band and ZZ Top. Lynyrd Skynyrd was supposed to appear too but had transportation problems and canceled. ZZ Top had live animals on top of their speakers…one was a bison (American buffalo). I can’t remember what was on the other speaker. Great concert…except for the police going down onto the field in riot gear and arresting some people, whacking them with their batons.
Please do some 70’s J. Geils Band. First I Look At the Purse, Homework, Detroit Breakdown, Southside Shuffle, and Musta Got Lost and many many more.
I second Detroit Breakdown!!
Fantastic party band. Now we need to get some Mammoth WVH Eddy Van Halen’s son. He has a good album out and is up for a Grammy. Played all the instruments when he wrote and recorded it.
You guys are adorable. I love you two!
J. the man the myth the legend that carries the band's name recently died. It was his band. The chap we're listening to is Peter Wolf. Love this 80's band that's been around for a while. You must listen to "I must have got lost" if you enjoyed Centerfold. party music that doesn't get enough credit. Raise a glass to JG and thank PW !
They used this song in The Wedding Singer.
You’ve heard this line in the movie “the wedding singer” with Adam Sandler
"Ain't Nothing But A Party" "Southside Shuffle". Love Stinks was sooo done. Try "Strutting With My Baby", "Musta Got Lost". Twice in the front row in 1974, 1975. Trust me, they crank.
Yeah, Love stinks, lol
Hands down the best bar band I ever saw. These guys sold a lot of beer.
For a pop/funk song the guitar was so heavy. Like Kinks heavy. I loved it when I was 11, i love it 42 years later.
The bands three later songs Love stinks, Freeze frame and Centerfold are the songs I like the least. Got to do their early stuff. Must of got Lost, Hard drivin Man and Whammer Jammer!!
Centerfold turned me off from the band almost completely. I absolutely hate that one.
Adam Sandler rocked the hell out of this song in The Wedding Singer. One of the funniest scenes in a movie ever!!!!! Makes me laugh every single time.
This was on the movie The Wedding Singer
As Peter Wolf once said, Love does stink, but we all love the smell.
One of my all time favorite bands. They have alot of great song.. They were considered a party band.. My opinion there greatest album is Bloodshot.. Complete Masterpeice
This song was so fun in the 80s LOL! You guys are rockin out today🤘🤘
Sir. It appears patreons only get requests. Money talks! I requested so so many on other channels maybe four out of 100 were played.
This is JG's soft core sound. Get to their Live 70's action...
It was in the movie “The wedding singer” Adam Sandler
This is my favorite Valentines day song !!! Hahaha. Stay safe 😷 🙏 ❤️
The ultimate J Geils song is "Musta Got Lost" - LIVE. Classic classic rock.
Hey Rapuuta!
Adam Sandler sang it in the movie "The Wedding Singer "
This song was used for the Swifter mop commercials some time ago.
If you lived in New England ,J. Geils Band was a essential on the radio. Was always said they were better live and a big party band
There's a great comedy with French Stewart and Bridgette Wilson-Sampras (Veronica Vaughn in Billy Madison) called Love Stinks. It was pretty funny.
Adam Sandler did a cover of this song on the movie The Wedding Singer.
You probably heard it in the movie, "The Wedding Singer". Adam Sandler sings it with his band after his girl friend breaks up with him and it is awesome!!
You probably heard this song in 'The Wedding Singer'.
Been waiting for a reaction to this song! LOL
Love this song!
They also played Providence Civic center around Christmas...saw them many times
"Well I have the microphone and you don't. SO YOU WILL LISTEN TO EVERY GODDAMN WORD I HAVE TO SAY!"
"Musta got lost" off of Blow Your Face Off album will.... well .... blow your face off hahaha These guys are crazy good live
Include the intro!
You may have heard the song from the movie “The Wedding Singer” with Adam Sandler
Another band with an amazing portfolio great song after great song... Not to mention Peter Wolfe for me in my top 5 greatest front men. I've seen them twice, he's a beast on stage, these guys are no joke
Great Unvalentine song from a great singer and band. Another example of how these old songs were just so much better than anything recorded in the 2010s and 2020s.
It was the best song to play on Valentine's night in a nightclub with a bunch of single people trust me as a DJ I slayed that night
You love her but she loves him and he loves somebody’s else…it’s like high school all over again…
You ain't kidding Lex, the Human Race is a mess, and not just in our love lives. It is why this retired, old hippie loves listening to music of my past like J Geils and the present, like female hard rockers Plush. You can find good music if you look for it. For more J Geils try Give It To Me or Serves You Right to Suffer. Try Plush, really good and happening right now, try Hate the official video, it has lyrics and Athena, these ladies rock out just like the old days and deserve to be heard along with the legends from Boston. Enjoy! 🎶
Sung by Adam Sandler in “The Wedding Singer”.
