Playoff blow-outs in ALL leagues happen in early rounds!! The NFL .. March Madness .. NBA .. MLB .. all of them! So .. what?! These college playoff games were a lot of fun. In-state Indiana game .. SMU to a cold climate .. battle of Texas 5-star QB's .. SEC team plays in Columbus. I'll take more of that, not less, thanks.
Omg I'm literally rewatching Community right now! So happy to see an actor I respect so much already, also being an avid fan of the best sport in the world!
can we please stop with the talk about cancelling marquee nonconference games. there was not a single team in contention for an at-large bid that got knocked out of contention because they lost to an elite team. Conference or non-conference. Alabama didn’t get left out because they lost to TN, they got left out because they lost to Vandy and got embarrassed is Norman. A&M didnt get left out because they lost to Notre Dame, they lost to an Auburn team that couldn’t even make a bowl game. Still love the show though. 5:49
I never believed the playoff was expanded because anyone thought there were 12 teams capable of winning a national championship. Instead, I assumed it was to ensure we didn't overlook the one or two teams that might actually have a shot but, for some reason, were ranked outside the top 4. For instance, if Ohio State were to win it all from the 8th spot this year, or Penn State from the 6th, that would validate the expansion. Sure, we could argue that 8 teams might have been sufficient, but 12 teams allow for a mix of "earned" and "deserved" spots by including conference champions and teams like a one-loss Indiana. While few would say Boise State, SMU, or Indiana "deserved" to be in the playoff, they earned their place by winning their conferences or by beating 90% of their regular season schedule. There will always be blowouts when we include teams that earned it due to the wide disparity in strength of schedules.
If both Georgia and Texas lose on Jan 1, meaning no SEC team will make the Semi-Finals .. let alone the title game. Then why do some think Alabama, S Carolina or Ol' Miss would have made the SEC look any better?
Because they would. That Alabama and ole miss team both beat Georgia. Texas isn’t losing to Arizona state, stop it. 😂 Georgia isn’t losing to ND. Tennessee is a low ceiling team. The highlight of their year was beating Alabama at home with insane ref help.
@@BartCathey-g2c And Alabama lost to Vandy .. snicker .. and got dominated by a bad OU team .. and had THREE losses .. and lost to the team that was just dominated in Columbus. Again, no idea why you think they would have made any better showing than, say, Indiana .. who had ONE loss .. and played OSU tougher than your mighty SEC Vols team. And Georgia will beat ND? We'll see. UG is lucky ND just lost their top D-lineman. And Texas hasn't impressed all year. They're good, but ASU can def get them.
@@BartCathey-g2ctennessee beat alabama,6 win vandy and Oklahoma also beat bama..Your conference is just weak lately...No sec team will make the championship game again
The SEC homers just know the more SEC teams they can get in more chances a SEC team will win the national title. I would love to see no SEC advance beyond the quarterfinals. But I suspect both Georgia and Texas will advance. I don’t see them loosing this round. And only one BIG will. If Ohio State beats Oregon they’ll have the toughest road to win it all. They’ll have to play Georgia next and then Texas.
I don’t get the Indiana hate. Them and Notre Dame had comparable schedule’s and were both 11-1. Sometimes the other team is just better. The 4 team playoff winner was by double digits 70% of the time as well.
Ohio State had enough points in the first 5 minutes of that game against Tennessee to beat UM. And Tennessee has a comparable defense to UM. So the question is, wtf actually happened on November 30th?
Ohio State (Coaches) called the game not to lose vs trying to win! The pressure of that game falls so heavy on Ohio State right now! The only team that can beat Ohio State is themselves!
Really disappointing to hear Urban Meyer spewing the same crap as the SEC honks. If you don’t think Indiana and SMU belonged in the playoffs, then you sure as hell can’t say Tennessee belonged. Not after that embarrassment. And THAT Tennessee team BEAT Alabama. It’s really simple. Don’t lose 3 games to bad teams and you will make the playoffs. Blowouts have been a part of the playoffs almost every single year. It’s nothing new. But sure, let’s ruin the sport more by cancelling all the best matchups 🙄
Indiana gave Ohio State a better game than Tennessee did. Indiana .. 1 loss. Tennessee .. 2 losses. Indiana dominated in their wins. Getting tired of the "SEC is elite" narrative. They are not.
Texas stomped Michigan who beat Ohio state in their own house. Alabama beat Wisconsin by 40 who had Oregon on the ropes. Don’t act like Ohio state did something by beating a mid ass SEC team. You sound dumb. Nobody cares what you’re tired of either. Tell the big10 to win 10 national championships in a row and then somebody might call them elite too. Instead of choking every single year
I thought the same thing. Literally during the ND game I was watching and just wondering why they weren't playing more aggressively. They were literally playing to not get smoked and never playing to win
Blow-outs happen early in the playoffs of the NFL too. NBA teams get swept in early rounds. 50 of the 64 teams in March Madness have no shot win the title. SO .. WHAT? Indiana .. 1 loss .. beat Michigan and Washington and dominated in their wins. Tennessee .. 2 losses .. beat a Nick Saban-less 'Bama .. and??? Also, Indiana played Ohio State tougher than Tennessee. Both games in Columbus.
Hey Mark, how come you didn't mention the score skewing of Tennessee. Tennessee's 1st team offense scored a late td against OSU's 2nd and 3rd team defensive players. If OSU keeps their starters in then they would have beaten Tennessee by a minimum of 32 pts. Probably more. Tennessee was massively overrated. Indiana played OSU much tougher than Tennessee. If anyone should have been left out of the playoff, it should have been Tennessee.
Should we down play the March Madness and make it just the sweet sixteen. We all know the no. 16 seed is not going to win the national championship in Basketball.
The teams that lose in the first round will always be questioned and said they did not belong and this team could have done better.. so on and so on. We will never get a 100% perfect system. The 12 man playoff is a money grab.
They tried to set it up like the NFL playoffs with division winners mainly getting the first round by, but just like NFL divisions College conferences are not equal. If top 25 and ranking doesn’t matter why not switch it to only a top 12 playoff ranking and 1-4 rankings not conference champions get Bye’s
Indiana played last years national champion and who they played in that game, it is not their fault them teams suck this year, and the #1 team right now basically played the same teams Indiana did, only differance is they beat Ohio State, (by 1 point), last, in a playoff it's the #1 team vs the #12 team, #2 vs #11 so on and so on, it will always be a blow out.
Thank you to Fox Sports for speaking up on behalf of the Big 10 Conference! Tennessee was the laughing stock of the weekend, which is good for the rest of College Football in the rebalancing of the sport. I still think everyone needs to schedule tough non-conference games, which benefits everyone!
I thought going to an 8 team playoff made more sense than a 12. That being said, my biggest problem with the CFP this year is conference champs with the byes and the idea that the loser shouldn't be punished. No way the 3 and 4 should be who they are. And going into the CCG's everyone was saying the ACC should only get 1 in, sorry SMU lost to Clemson but......conference champ autobid
So tired of hearing how 3 loss Alabama should’ve been in and they got their ass best by a terrible Oklahoma team who can’t beat Navy in a bowl game. News flash: THE SEC IS NOT HEAD AND SHOULDERS ABOVE THE BIG10. In fact the top of the BIG10 is much better right now. Go away SEC, nobody is buying your bullshit anymore and giving you spots just cause you played your tough 8 game conference schedule to go along with beating Mercer, The Citadel, Norfolk St. & Delaware. With one of those layups coming in week 12 😂😂😂😂
Urban is gonna eat crow! They got put in their place when Michigan beat them. Now they beat an extremely overrated Tennessee & they are back to being favorites? You forget the Ducks beat them once this season! The Ducks are the favorites to win it all, not the Suckeyes!

I think fans would prefer to get smoked than have a committee tell them they are hypothetically gonna get smoked, because sometimes they won't.
S.O.S. matters for seeding not who gets into the playoffs. Win your game if you want to be in the CFP.
SERIOUSLY MARK? OMG
How is this not a viral channel
Right! I'm seeing this for the first time today!

SEC just needed to win the games! Eye test is just wrong. Win your games!
Total SEC domination by the Buckeyes....B1G looks like the real deal

For real
Notre Dame uniforms and opening is the best in college football.
what the hell was that begining lmao
Josh Pate needs to explain to some of these gentlemen what the point of a playoffs is...
I never thought I'd say those words.
That intro was diabolical
Ohio state had Washington scheduled but they joined the conference. So let’s make sure we have all the facts about OSU’s schedule this year.
Urban is so right!
Is this a newer channel? How does a channel with 3 national personalities only have 6k in followers?

I went there to see Pink Floyd when I was 18, I'm 55 now lol
