Let's keep all these posts alive on all of HER video and clips. I have loved her since I was a boy and now I am almost 50. She was gone too soon and the world needs to remember her!!!! It is the gloriousness of UA-cam, that generations will hear her and experience her forever. As long as new people rediscover her or remember her she will always be alive!!!!! This world right now is SO mundane and everyone sounds the same or is trying to be the same that it is so refreshing to give thanks to an artist who was always her own and still found an audience!

this song is from the album "Hold Me" released in '85. the song went to # 82 on the pop charts and # 39 on the dance charts. " Hold Me" album was Laura's 4th album. it was underated, like Laura was. she and her music is greatly missed.

Laura Branigan used to be the first singer I became fan of. I haven't heard this song after 80's. And to tell the truth: this sounds even better then. But as far as I remember Hold me - the single and album - didn't do that well on the charts. Laura didn't repeat the success of Self Control ever again.

A favorite of mine. In America we are prone to dispose of our stars and it's stupid because many like Laura continued to make great music, but without proper promotion, videos, radio play, people are like who's next? She did sue her manager, but I am not sure of specifics. Laura did maintain International success and played Arenas in Chile and other Latin American countries. I prefer her I Found Someone, Power of Love and How am I Supposed to Live over the other versions by other artists.

I just love this song! One of my many many favorites. The performance was just great. I loved seeing some of the most well known entertainers were there. Like the Great Mary Wells & Jeffrey Osborn. They were getting into it & looked as though they really enjoyed it. What wonderful memories Laura gives me. I would sneak into the kitchen & watch one of her videos late at night back when I was in high school. I was entranced with her music to me she was the very best. Now she's sings for God..

@checkondc I think that is the only hit of hers that DOESN'T appear on her hits releases, as "Spanish Eddie", and "I Found Someone" from "Hold Me" are on "The Essentials", and "The Platinum Collection", but "I Found Someone" isn't one "The Best Of." "Hold Me" IS her most valuable release on eBay though.
