    I've had my RS 175s for 7 years now but they still sound as if I just got them yesterday. Excellent investment. I'm happy that they are also still selling the replacement headband pads and ear cups.

    I have the HDR-175 for over 5 years. They sound awesome and the surround sound effect if amazing. We purchased 2 full sets. You can pair 2 or more headsets at a time, but all will have the same bass and surround settings. The pairing occurs just by connecting them with the base.

    I was looking for a new headset to use with my series X. Have a Turtle Beach Stealth 600 and wanted a update. Tried Razer's Nari, Kraken with Hypersense both sucked. Then soundscape came to my attention. That was a deep Rabbit Hole. Came out on the Epos HR6 pro. Did not buy it.
    In the corner on the floor was my old Senheiser 175. Holy shit. A world opened up.
    So now i bought a lavalier for the chat and use my Senheiser for sound.

    Hi, great video. How do I connect the optical cable to my Samsung QLED TV? I can see the connector? It’s a QA75Q60RAW model about 5 years old? I can’t even find an analog headphone jack on the back?

      Hi Tracey, Samsung does specify the TV has an optical Toslink optical digital output and shows the connections around the middle of the back of the TV. A 5' Optical digital cable is included with these headphones.

      The Sennheiser RS-175 headphones do not have Bluetooth as a feature. To get sound in you will need to connect your device with either the 3.5mm analog input or optical toslink input on the rear of the base.

  • @StarWonderClub

    Is it possible to have two connections: optical connected to the tv and the 3.5mm jack connected to the PC and then use the switch on the Sennheiser's base?

    • @crutchfield
      @crutchfield  Місяць тому

      If you are fine with manually selecting which input you desire to use with the switch, I see no reason why you could not connect a 3.5mm source and an optical source to the charging base.

    If someone is looking for a review from a recent buyer here you go
    A few months ago I wanted to get a headset on the more expensive side so I didn't have to keep replacing hyperx cloud core headsets every year, and this headset not only sounds better but its got a bass setting even though the bass is already good on standard, the surround sound is really good on games like red dead 2, overall it sounds very clear besides some really quiet frequency noises that are only noticeable when the volume is turned up all the way, which I like to do cause I like blasting my music, but its only noticeable when nothing is playing. Definitely worth the money but since I got a new job recently I might get the momentum 4's sometime soon cause I simply like headsets and audio, I think I'm an audio nerd in the making

      Their surround sound mode works very well! Many of our customers have commented about their experiences with it and how good it performs.

    Please do a review and comparison of Sennheiser RS 175-U vs. 195-U wireless TV headphones: sound quality, cost, and your pick

    • @crutchfield
      @crutchfield  2 роки тому

      We believe that each is the best pick for the right person. The differences in these models are the amount of customization that can be done to fine tune their sound. The 175 model has a bass boost and a couple virtual surround sound modes. The 195 model has three listening modes: Normal, Speech (for clearer dialogues), or Music (for increased dynamic range for music). It also has a few (labeled as A-G) different personal hearing modes to help with enhancing their sound for everyone. In case you are leaning towards the 195 model, this link will take you to it on our website:

    looking to connect something to my desktop pc and maybe at times my laptop. Currently have bluetooth and the connection isnt stable with micro dropouts every now and then (I suspect its because of the multiple wireless connections going around my room).
    Will the RF connection with these RS 175 solve that issue?
    Also will be connecting laptop with 3.5mm jack. Hope that works
    Final question is that my desktop pc has a SPDIF out. Will it connect to that via the audio cable and will I have to get my own cable seperately?
    Alternatively it does have the multi colored audio outputs/inputs
    Apologies for all the questions but just want to make the right choice on getting a new everyday use headset 😅

      We are happy to help!
      These headphones can use a range of radio frequencies so they do not interfere with or get interfered on by other device's wireless signals. They come with a 3.5mm audio cable as well as an optical audio cable that can connect to SPDIF outputs that are close to be square shaped. Some SPDIFs are round similar to the 3.5mm port. If your laptop has this one, a cable is needed to connect the headphones to it. This and more can be found on our web page for these headphones:

      These offer top notch sound for personal listening. They connect via optical digital (Toslink) or via the stereo (3.5mm input) so you'd simply be sending audio from the console to them. Volume controls, virtual surround sound, and dynamic bass boost buttons are on the headphones.

The only potential issue is that they are wireless and that means there is a slight delay because of the wireless transmission process. If you are not gaming online, they they could be a great option! Otherwise, a wired set may be better:

      @@crutchfield well, I’m not really sure but on the back of my cable van box there is a place for an optical cord, and there is a spot for a USB and something that says LAN. And there is a cord plugged into the back of the cable box that says TV out that’s all I know.

      Perfect! You can use the optical digital output to connect from your cable box to the RS 175s. A 5' Optical digital cable is included with the headphones.

      There is no Bluetooth features on the Sennhieser RS-175 headphones. Use the included toslink optical cable to connect the charging base to your Sony TV's digital optical output.

      @@crutchfield I had the optical cable in back of charging base and then into back of SONY TV. How do I pair TV to headphones? Ur other option to put 3.5 mm wire into charging base..where in back of my tv does the other end go into. Which option allows to keep sound out of room n then if one wants to listen thru headphones n still allow others to hear?

      You'll find instructions for pairing the headphones to the transmitter on page 24 of the manual here: pdf.crutchfieldonline.com/ImageBank/v20211119155000/Manuals/143/143RS1752.PDF
      You will want to check your TV's output settings regarding options for listening via multiple outputs. If you got the TV and/or headphones here, you can call our Tech Support for help setting this up as well. Their direct number is on your invoice.

      You'll need a Tos-Link optical digital or RCA/3.5 stereo audio output to connect to the transmitter included.

    I have three pairs of HDR 175 wireless headphones that only two years old, and have turned out to be a load of rubbish. They run okay for the first hour, then start to stutter, giving out broken sound. I have replaced the batteries, replaced the fibre optic cable. I also use a one in four out splitter, that I have also replaced. I have even checked out the quality of the channels I have been looking at. Even on Amazon prime I still stuttering speech. All I can say don't buy them.

      I have had MANY Sennheiser RFs over the years and I have to agree with you this and the 180s are the ONLY models where I experience breaking up of sound no matter listening to youtube, Netflix, prime whatever. Changed all cables same thing. Disappointing as the sound when it works is good.

    Unfortunately, the headphones did not meet expectations, and I was disappointed due to the weak sound and lack of clarity, despite their high price, so I will return them.
