Hands down first time hunting with my Dad
I have had lots of memorable elk hunts, I am now 73. But, I have only tried bow hunt the last two years, having most of my success was muzzleloader hunting in Colorado. Last year I was set up on a hill side about 12 feet up and 25 yards from a spring. I heard a bull bugle and I cow called. He was beyond a line of trees and I though he was farther than he was. As I cow called again he interred the opening about 60 yards away and came to 25 yards and stopped of course right behind an limb. I was about to start drawing and he turned toward me and came right up the hill to where I was standing, stopping at 6 feet in front of meet. All I could do was freeze and watch his eye. The stand off lasted close to a minute and he slowly turned his head toward me and saw what he did not like and swirled away from me and ran back down the hill and out of sight. He was a nice 5x5, I did not bring meat home but what a great memory.
Most memorable was archery elk west of Colorado Springs. Got probably 20 yards from a bull. My buddy was downhill from me cow calling. Long story short the bull came in from a different angle than we expected. He was just on the other side of the top of the hill from me. So I only saw him from the belly up before he winded us and took off down the other side. Talk about adrenaline rush. Great video. Also, saw the NE plates. GBR. Are you from NE?

My favorite memory is walking up to my brothers bull he shot. My dad took me and my two brothers, and we had a trip to remember. Been trying to get an elk ever since
I have had many great hunting memories since I began going turkey, deer, and pheasant hunting with my father and my brothers. One of the most memorable hunting memories was from a few years ago. My brother Chase had a turkey permit and I went along to watch as I was back on break. We sat most of the morning and noticed something moving through the grass in front of us. About thirty yards out a skunk began to walk in our direction. The skunk came on a line and went straight toward us. It began to get closer and closer and ended up walking right past me at less than two feet away. We did not bother the skunk and the skunk did not bother us (thank goodness). He continued on his way and went right past my brother and I. The best part was that we got the whole interaction on tape. After the skunk past my brother and I we both looked at each other in pure disbelief. My brother did not have any luck getting a turkey that day, but the skunk encounter is a memory neither I nor my brother will ever forget.
My favorite memory is calling in my dads first turkey.

My favorite hunt was my first elk hunt. I harvested a 4x4. A rag horn to some but a trophy to me. I had him mounted.
well so many killed some nice whitetail bucks and alot of awesome hunt but the best i would say was just last weekend with my son . we were in idaho elk hunting and never killed and elk or my son and we were able to tag out together 3 hours apart. so was super cool they were only cow elk but we will remember it for ever now on to my Colorado bow hunt and it is looking good was in 7 bulls this morning lets go elk season 2024
I'd say the first whitetail I shot. It was maybe 5 years ago right after a snow storm. I crawled up over a ridge and saw one about 35 yards away. I placed a good shot, saw it run about 50 yards, and then fall. I won't ever forget that rush of adrenaline. Love the channel!
Best memory I have is seeing my son bag his first deer!
My favorite hunting memory is all of them I’ve done with my dad. His health is not strong right now and I can’t stand the thought of losing my lifelong hunting partner.
Great 1st bull. That’s one you’ll never forget. I travelled from Pa to Colorado in 2023. I was fortunate and harvested my 1st bull with a muzzleloader. Was always a dream and at 55 it came true. Congratulations and enjoy the excellent table fair. Elk is so tasty.

Congrats on Bull, most memorable hunt was probably when I was 17 & killed my first elk with an open sited 30-30, still hunting Aspen 3 miles from any road by myself, was so excited to get back to camp to tell my grandpa , I crossed a half frozen creek, my grampa finally showed up & found me laying under blankets trying to warm up from near frozen, I would do it all again if I could, simply to be able to hunt with my grampa again!

Most memorable hunt would have to be a 180" mule deer that I watched for 2 days from a mile away. I had to spike out by myself and get to a location in the morning to give myself the best chance of getting him. In the morning I placed myself in the best location. Spotted the buck about 15 min after first light. Made a 512 yd shot and dropped him just as the sun was cresting the horizon.
Amazing!
Most memorable hunt was MT Muley 2018. 5th day into the hunt I finally spotted a buck that I could get in range with before he vanished off the flats and into the deep, dark coulees. Got to the last tree between me and him and nailed him. I was a little too excited with all that adrenaline that I went ahead and approached him right away...when I was 10 yds from him, he heard me say "yes!" and he jumped up and sprinted for what appeared to be a cliff. I was in such shock and fumbling to get my gun up, but I managed to get 1 shot off. He disappeared after I shot. This time I waited for an hour before my approach and was anticipating having to drag him out of a 500 ft deep coulee or if we'd even find him at all. As we approach the drop off, he was dead and hung up in a little bush that prevented him from tumbling down to the bottom. He was definitely the deer of a lifetime and is now mounted on my wall. It was an amazing experience with emotions both up and down.

Definitely taking my two sons last year spot and stalking in on mule deer. We got permission to hunt a property but after a day of hunting found nothing. We pulled up onX to find a new spot. First spot was just to many people so we picked the next most likely spot boys were bummed at this point but next spot we had to ourselves. We get to a good glassing spot and after an hour or so I spot two bucks about 600yds away one legal buck it's a three point or better area. We check the wind and then hurry over using the topo for cover we crawl over a small rise and there they are no idea we are there my youngest son gets into position and we are only 120yds away. He loads his CVA cascade in 6.5 Creedmoor and is waiting for the buck to stand up. After about 45 mins he finally stands up and my son makes a perfect shot. It was a warm day for mid October so we quartered him up and got the meat on ice. Such a great memory.
We are headed out for a rifle elk hunt for my son this weekend drew a cool youth tag.
My most memorable hunt was the 2023 Wisconsin bear hunt, I was fortunate enough to transfer my bear tag to my 11 year old son. He was fortunate enough to harvest a 351 pound black bear. When my son harvest animals it means more to me, than anything.

Awesome video guys. Congrats on the success, hopefully I’ll make my way out west sometime. It was something my grandpa always wanted to do and never got the chance, so hopefully I can make it out for him. That’s who I owe most of my hunting memories to and I have many stories. But my favorite is one of the last hunts I went on with him. It was a beautiful and cold evening. Gun season in Ohio, my grandpa had bought a scoped pistol and wanted to try and harvest a deer with it that year. I had just put a blind up close to a feeder we had on our land and had planned on hunting there but decided to let him go to hopefully have some success. Sure enough at 25 yards he dropped a beautiful doe and he and I both enjoyed every moment of that evening hunt. Miss ya grandpa,hopefully I’ll get us one this year.

My best hunting memory was a day where my little brother and I both shot nice does. We didn’t grow up in a hunting family, so I taught myself and then passed what I learned onto him. I was more excited for him to shoot a doe than I was for myself

Mine was with my oldest daughter. She had drawn a youth elk tag, we took her to our favorite spot. My little brother was with us he called in this little 4 point bull. She said no to it and it ran away. Needless to say we called him in 4 more times on the fourth time she decided to take the shoot and got him.
She had one grandpa on the hunt and other grandpa come in with horses and got it out.

My most memorable hunt was a turkey hunt with one of my best friends when we were around the age of 16. We were both relatively new to hunting, especially turkey hunting, and were getting whooped by the turkeys for several weeks.
We decided to stick around after an unsuccessful morning hunt and skip lunch with hopes of finally seeing a tom which had avoided us all season. We were both surprised to hear a faint gobble shortly after we got in the blind. I started calling with the diaphragm call I had practiced with in the several months leading up to the season and got a gobble almost every time.
With the tom coming in very quickly to my calls, my friend and I started to argue over wanting each other to take the shot rather than ourselves. I ended up winning the argument and got to witness my best friend harvest his first turkey.
Cool hunt and video. Was that all on public land?
Yep! We’re lucky to have a cabin that is on a small 10 acre lot but has thousands of acres of national forest land behind it.
First blacktail ever killed 2023 and first successfully bow hunt on a hog earlier this year
My most memorable hunt was the last whitetail hunt I had with my grandfather, in central PA, before he passed away. Lots of hiking through the mountains in 3 inches of snow, and he taught me a lot on that hunt. Now, he is gone and I am passing on what he taught me to my son, making more memories while Poppop watches from heaven.
Any time I’m out at deer camp with dad brother uncle and cousin is my favorite memories.
A lot of memories to choose from, but my first turkey with my dad will probably always be the top spot for me.
My most memorable hunt is when I harvested my first Texas Whitetail Deer. The deer was a 9pt 3.5 year old buck; wasn’t the biggest, but blew my expectations out of the water. That hunt was a whirlwind of emotions. I was so pumped when I squeezed the trigger, and saw him kick those back legs, but was kind of shocked he took off running. That hunt taught me how to search for a deer after the shot. I was bummed initially because I was just looking in open areas and could not find him. Once I started getting low and looking under the cedars and mesquite trees, I found him! I thanked God for the blessing of a solid deer and was immediately hooked. 8 years later and now I am getting my 12 year old daughter prepared for her first season behind the rifle!
My most memorable hunt was my first deer with a bow. I had several close calls before but couldn’t seal the deal. The perseverance finally paid off and was definitely rewarding.
2021 CO second season elk. Took my buddy, dad, and bro to an area I had hunted in the past. We went in with horses and a wall tent to spend the week. The weather was brutal. We had a foot of snow on the ground when we got to camp. My brother and buddy filled on day one. My dad and I hunted the week together and finally on the last morning, we doubled up in the same meadow. It was an unreal way to end a fantastic week.

My most memorable was my first time I am hooked, didnt grow up hunting and even after a tour in Army was Field Artillery said never camp again, all changed when my wife's family took for an Elk hunt, I didn't have a tag but went with them, every since ALL I want to do, I am not very good but love the pursuit.
