If you buy minced lamb, you can mix it up with a teaspoon of mint sauce. Form them into a burger and cook them individually in a microwave dish with lid. They don't dry out. It only works with lamb because of the high fat content. I also make curried shamies the same way. Using a pyrex dish is best.
Sirloin steak is 4 pounds a pack in sainburys these days icelands has priced thr working people out the door 70cl bottle bailys is 10 pounds with card in same place thanks for the video gaz
Thanks, Gareth, you're a star! We normally go to Iceland on a Tuesday, to get the extra 10% discount, and saw those. We both love Lamb, but as none of our family had tried them, we didn't buy them. We certainly will next Tuesday, though. Thanks again🥰
I used to work in a kebab shop back in the late 80s, we always used to put lemon juice on the lamb for that extra mouthwatering effect whilst taking the big bites 👌
I LOVE lamb burgers more than the beef ones but 4 quid for 2 is too much. Food and meat is now very expensive. Love you cooking demonstration for these of us who have low cuisine skills. Excellent 10/10
Asda frozen Lamb & Mint burgers (4 for around £2.50) are pretty damn good , and quite thick too. As are the bacon & cheese, and Aberdeen Angus burgers from the same range....
I knew you'd love that! £2 each? Pretty good for lamb. One suggestion - if you crush the red onions with sea salt flakes and sumac you get a sweeter mix. Give it a go?
That's a crazy price for those! My local Lidl is selling 4 x 6oz 98% meat frozen burgers for about £4.20 made in Ireland and they are very nice. Thanks anyway for your review Gareth. I'm glad you enjoyed your burger.
little tip Gaz sprinkle some salt on the board before crushing the garlic clove with the flat of your knife it will prevent the oils escaping into the board.
Nice review, as usual. Wish we had such an extensive selection of pre-prepared meals in my suburb of Sydney. Would make eating on a tight budget (from time to time ) much easier.
I bought the four pack version tonight on way home from Work (although slightly smaller burgers can’t remember the weight) stuck them under the grill for 15/18 mins from frozen. Burger buns, lettuce some mint sauce mixed with mayo with red onion, lovely! Must say for quickness and £3.50 I’d buy them again - zero grizzle also.
Nice one Gareth, I love lamb, but it's too pricey for my budget to eat it regular. I splash out on some lamb chops about every other month or so to make a Lancashire hotpot.
I remember my first and best ever lamb and mint burger, it was at the Royal Norfolk Show around 1985 ( i was 10 ) and the Welsh Lamb Company had a big stall set up in the side of a removal type van, it was bloody lush ! 🍔🤤👌
You've gave me an idea pal, I'm gonna buy some of that chilli puree, do your garlic mayo trick and add the chilli puree to the garlic mayo!!!... Ooooh I'm salivating 😋👍🏻
Nice, you said no chief but knife skills looked good. Only just got taught to put mint in shepards pie, never tried that. Cheated another site, all the best.
It looks lovely, and the price is reasonable considering lamb is an expensive meat, but the mint would put me off. (I am not just being fussy, spearmint actually makes me sick, no idea why. I am fine with peppermint, but I wouldn’t like it on meat.) I have some lamb mince in the freezer, so I think I will make my own, and I am definitely pinching that garlic mayonnaise idea to go with other things too - thanks for that. You are quite right to have some time off, nobody can work day in and day out without burning out. Enjoy some down time and we’ll appreciate you all the more when you get back. 😊
Burgers, pizzas, pies, curry! We need more variety gaz, no puddings or desserts get reviewed or healthy snacks n foods! We’re all fat n unhealthy enough lol we need to see more variety please
Dang.. this might be one of the first things you've had recently that i've seen that i'd actually probably buy and try.. ingredients not bad, and can't go much wrong with lamb usually, right? never even though of having them in a burger! nice! 😊♥
The tastiest frozen burgers I've come across are Co-op's 4 British Beef Quarter Pounder 454g for about £4.00, followed by Aldi's Cheese & Onion burgers
Hi .. first of all I was hoping you would taste a bit of the burger on its own but doesn’t matter 😂 but it looks delicious.. I will try your suggestion regarding the chilli sauce and garlic mayonnaise.. I no I’ve asked for a review on Morrisons the best cherrywood hot dogs but another suggestion after watching this is from Tesco.. Acre Lane minted burgers.. 4 in a packet at 3.50 .. I cooked them in my ninja air fryer and thought they were the best minted lamb burgers I’ve tried so far.. so on that note I leave you with 2 reviews to do .. and thank you for your videos and I enjoy them lots .. well done mate 👍 Tony the carer from Fakenham Norfolk 👍👍
Terrific video as ever really made me chuckle, couple of points think Mint may be a herb not a vegetable and was it something (she said) square and erect to the front. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Your knife skills on that garlic clove was impressive m8. Not the kind of lettuce I buy though, a cheap Iceberg does me. £4 in todays market isn’t so bad for the odd treat. By the time you add the extras, rolls, garlic etc you are probably in for around £2.50 per burger and for me that’s a reasonable price for a treat. Let’s face it, everything is a lot dearer these days, especially for us pensioners. A good review Mr G and I’m sure it was tasty too. I’m still trying to figure out how lamb from NZ, that gets processed and shipped all the way to the UK is cheaper than British lamb that probably only travels a few miles. Perhaps that in NZ flocks of sheep count in the 1000’s, where in the UK they count in the 100’s. Maybe it’s time the British Government increased farmers quota’s 🤔🤔.
Dr Evil strikes again lol, I have to say i bought and enjoyed my battered beef burger with cheese filling centre so I'll try these as well. As a youngun i used to love lamb Dalesteaks I'd eat four on their own, always a great watch matey.
Half scottish accent ? You're obviously not "of these parts", 636. He's from Yorkshire, but has lived in Cumbria for a while. Any native would know in 2 secs flat he's not local. As for the scottish bit, ya need to brush up on ya regional dialects, i reckon. Btw, accents have no bearing if you can cook or not, our kid. What ARE you vaping, i muse ?
My serving suggestion would be the for the pets as the mere smell of lamb makes me sick but all the enthusiasm is making me a bit wistful. In truth I think my hatred of lamb is delayed psychological damage from Grammar school dinners. I have enjoyed Venison and Ostrich burgers though. Lamb fat is just such a unique smell.
Gareth, we know your no chef we've had a few laughs over time but, impressed with your knife skills when chopping food keeping your pinkies clear, keep on trucking, Big Mal.😊🎉
Personal note Gareth, you seemed a bit off que today, any way looked a fair burger, I always fry my frozen burgers. Keeps 'em moist. I think the chilli puree/ paste is more for easy cooking use.£4 about the going rate, nowt cheap anymore 😢but as a change from beef or chicken I'd give 'em a go.Thanks fer another good'un pal.til the next one Cheers Allan&Family
My leg of lamb ordered today on offer £15.its for Easter. Need to get up on the Strines lolol. No only joking couldn't run fast enough in my wheelchair Great show Gareth

Sounds great, and would work out a lot cheaper than these.
U do this and add a tiny bit of Schwartz lamb seasoning....perfect.

£4 for 2 forget it. The prices now are insane.
The lamb burgers at Asda is quite fatty compared to this one. It is more economical to make these burgers at home.
I knew you'd love that! £2 each? Pretty good for lamb. One suggestion - if you crush the red onions with sea salt flakes and sumac you get a sweeter mix. Give it a go?
You crush them with Richie Sumac??!?!?!
i had a llama burger in a cafe in perth, an aberdeen butcher supplied them , i was dubious at first but wow , best burger ive had.
I had an Kangaroo burger a few years back and it was delish. Edit, not Ostrich, brain is not working.
They're a bit like Panda.
Hope it wasn't the dalli llama lol 😂

I wouldn't they are terrible
You really are a chef. The use of the knife was profissional. Excellent vídeos. No more nails is excellent
Haha it sticks
little tip Gaz sprinkle some salt on the board before crushing the garlic clove with the flat of your knife it will prevent the oils escaping into the board.
Great review Gaz they looked pretty nice and not much shrinkage either and that chilly sauce looked good as well 👏👏👍👍

Would def try these if I had an Iceland nearby!! But I haven’t 😂 top video Gaz …. Smithy
When you get a minute BFG, try the Asda Just Essentials frozen strawberry cheesecake, at 85p. For the money it's great!
Don’t tell everyone , I’ve not been able to find any for the last two weeks 😂
Nice one Gareth, I love lamb, but it's too pricey for my budget to eat it regular. I splash out on some lamb chops about every other month or so to make a Lancashire hotpot.
If you run the onion under some water it will "deflame" it, which will get rid of the ammonia, and make it less harsh.

Try the Iceland chicken balls- part of the 3 for 10 quid range- just like takeaway chicken balls- yummy with sweet and sour sauce and egg fried rice.
Chickens don't have balls ;-)
@@Thelostgoldhunters I thought the same thing...I guess we fools seldom differ. ;)
I find their smaller lamb burgers quite spongy, so I wonder if these are the same
I bought these but out of the burger all i could taste was mint 😮 enjoy 😋
You can not beat a good burger 🍔
Going to store to buy them tomorrow.
Anyone remember the steakhouse grills, the lamb and beef ones? Much better I think
Yes, I do Monica. They used to make a nice dinner with potatoes, veg and gravy (plus a dollop of mint sauce on the lamb ones). Yum! 😋

Youd be better off buying lamb mince and making your own burgers but a lamb leg joint is about £7.99per kg these days.
