These two shows were fucking awesome. I've been lucky enough to live in Portland and Eugene since 1994 and have been able to see every single Gorge show ever played. I'm not going this year, though. At 48 years old, life, family, and work take priority. But I'm catching both Eugene shows July 14-15, 2020. My first show was 2-25-1993 in Miami, where Fishman's mom played the vacuum to "If I Only Had a Brain." My 100th show will be the first night in Eugene. It's taken me forever to get there, mostly because living in Portland is not exactly conducive to seeing a lot of shows without a lot of travel. I'm really gonna miss not catching the three Gorge shows this summer. The magic and energy there always are palpable.
By far my most favorite gorge jam is 8/5/11 rock and roll> meatstick> boogie on reggae woman. I’d kill to go back and be apart of that audience. I’ll be at the gorge for three nights for there 2021 summer tour. Gonna be first three shows ever. I’m stoked. Thanks for sharing
i used to be so fuckin into this band man...i miss them. the crowd didnt even seem to know this song from thier reaction. do they not play this much anymore? i know its an old number of thiers.
The Curtain With has only been played 36 times total. Only a dozen times in the last 8 years. The Curtain (Without) was played 118 times between 88 and mostly 2000, though twice it emerged early in 3.0. It is a very rare tune these days. And on this day at The Gorge it was still a bit early and yeah most folks there may not have known the treat they were in for. But conversely who the fuck knew Architect? =]
