Burt Bacharach has just passed away. I love his songs so much. I am so sad. I grew up listening to his music. May I say a little prayer for you and you are right when you said what the world needs now is love. We love you so much.
I had no idea he had passed...I was just thinking what a sad day it would be when he did. He was always one of my favorite composers and writers along with Hal David.
I am becoming my father seemingly with each passing day as my first thought as I started watching this video was: “This is what music with a melody sounds like”. This music was relevant when it was written, it is relevant today, and it will be relevat 100 years from now. Timeless music.
As a former TENOR SAX player, this TRIBUTE to BURT & HAL is so wonderful ! Had the joy of playin' my horn behind DIONNE WARWICK back in 1964 when she was startin' to amaze the world singing their songs !
No one will ever come close to producing the hits of Burt Bacharach and Hal David. What a wonderful tribute to these two, and now even more special that they both are no longer with us. This is such a special concert, thanks to the Brits for putting this on.
Yesterday was Burt’s 95 birthday and his first birthday in heaven- always loved and brilliant- my heart is full but grateful for the memories and the blessings of his life and talent ❤
I was just watching a show on Burt Bacharach on PBS and singing all the songs. The nurse was standing near my door (I live in a nursing home the youngest one here at the age of 63) she told me she listened to the whole thing with me singing and she told me she never heard any of those songs before. I was shocked!
Eu também ficaria chocado! Dionne Warwick, B.J.Thomas e Karen Carpenter fizeram sucesso com as músicas do Burt Bacharach. Gosto e sensibilidade fazem a seleção!
One of the best composers/songwriters in music history that made not only millions but billions of people happy. Rest in peace, Burt Bacharach. You are gone but your songs will live forever. Thanks for giving us wonderful memories through your songs.
Had the pleasure of meeting (1st time) Burt Bacharach around 3 a.m. in a coffee shop at the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas where he was headlining in a show with Anthony Newley many years ago. He was so gracious! I complimented him and then he kissed my hand! I then walked back to my booth where my best friend was sitting. Mesmerized and showing her my kissed hand I told her "I will never wash this hand again!" I would meet Mr. Bacharach 3 more times. The last time was many years later, at a charity event at a local hospital in my community and he was the special guest of honor. When the timing was appropriate I approached Burt Bacharach and told him he and I met once before years ago (told him where we met). I was holding a program for that day's event and he asked me for it. So while I patiently and excited waited he first asked me my name then wrote in it, "Ann, so very nice to see you again!" OMG how sweet!!
The iconic team of Bacharach & David will never been duplicated! Timeless melodies and lyrics that served to remind us what is really important in life. Missing their musical genius to the world. Rest in peace Burt & Hal! Wonderful medley intro with sax.
Glad I'm old enough to remember when most of the Late Mr. Bacharach's songs were hits on the radio. He and many of these music greats were about 20-25 years older than me , thus they grew up in an environment to write and perform great songs.
I was there with my wife and family. It was brilliant at the time, but in retrospect it has just got better and better. My mother in law burst into tears when Sacha Distel came on - and then I burst into tears when Dionne came on. Total genius.
My brush with fame: I bartended at Del Mar Race Track's Club House circa 1978. Burt Bacharach, with his wife Angie, ordered a vodka tonic from me. He wished me well. I think his horse won that day. We miss you already, Burt. Hope you enjoyed my libation... I enjoy your music. Thanks.
Early in his career, Bachrach was music director for Marlena Dietrich, who described him in her autobiography as "the perfect man." That's very high praise from a very smart and reportedly demanding woman. He toured with her for five years, and then left to devote his time to composing. I'm sure there's a story that doubtless we will never know.
His music along with Dionne Warwick singing was lullaby and when I grew up, they sang to me and my beloved. May he rest in eternal paradise and peace. I love you Burt!!!😢❤
I loved Burt and Hal's music. They were very gifted and adding Dionne's voice put this music in a class by itself. Their music has a full array of emotions. They don't make music like this today. God bless them.
Found out Mr. Bacharach passed away today, thank you for sharing this when you did, little did you know someone would absolutely love it 9 years later after Burt passed on! RIP Burt Bacharach, you will be missed but your music will live forever!
when I was 16 someone commended Burt ,it was 1966,the thought wasn't lost on me.Ive tried over and over to remember his name.Hearing a friend comment on Burt being the brightest bulb in the room, coming from him wasnt easy to forget,I thought alot about that.
WOW WOW WOW ..no words to describe this gift the world. Thanks to all that contributed to make this possible...specially to Burt, my boyfriend since high school, but he never found out. Loved him as a composer, song writer and human that he is.
Burt Bacharach's music will never be forgotten. He crossed many decades and culture lines which was such an amazing feat. He was an amazing artist, arranger and musician. If you get a chance, read his book - My Life and music ANYONE WHO HAD A HEART. He was something else. I read it while playing his songs on UA-cam. Brought back memories. ❤
Know almost EVERY SINGLE WORD-danced the night away-fell in and outta love to it -17 years old in 1960-and now in 2023 I am engulfed in this tribute to Burt-Hal - Dionne- Petula-etc!!!!! Still dancing and falling in love with life! Simply the Best! Xxxx
I really appreciate singers who pay tribute to the composers by NOT putting their own ridiculous spins on these songs & by sticking to the very carefully crafted songs as they were written. The only ones that have the right to change anything up a bit are Dionne or Petula because they WERE there from the get go. And Petula didn't even do that, bless her heart.💓 No one ever tries to sing Karen Carpenter - she was one of a kind. 💓Bless her for THAT tribute.
Completely agree. I thought opening with Wives and Lovers in 4/4 was a pretty odd choice, especially considering the fact that Burt never liked it in 4 and said it was meant to be played as a waltz
Burt Bacharach's song "What the World Needs Now" is very appropriate more than ever as the world needs love as it is the only thing that there's too little of because if there is such an abundance, this world would be a better place to live.
Yes, many condolences to Mr. Bacharach's family and friends. What an enormous contribution he gave to our world with his music. We all shall miss him, but his music will remain on. RIP ❤️ 🙏
Brilliant music. This tribute was absolutely wonderful. So happy to have found it. Hal David and Burt Bacharach rest in peace knowing the incredible gifts you have given to the world are timeless. Dionne Warwick is such a classy lady who's voice gets straight to your heart💖
A treat of nostalgia hearing Sacha Distel, Petula Clark , Leo Sayer , Elvis Castello, &... Dionne Warwick takes the cake !!! .A great platform for new young singers ... Though nothing compares to the old , that's gold !!! Like the magic of the partnership of Warwick , BB & HD ..!!!
FEB. 8, 2023 BURT BACHARACH PASSED AWAY: I HAD THE HONOR & PRIVILEGE OF WORKING WITH BURT BACHARACH IN THE STUDIO (ALBUMS & MOVIE SCORES) EVERGREEN STUDIOS, BURBANK CA. BURT WAS A CLASS ACT & SO WERE THE MANY STARS WHO SANG & PERFORMED ON SCREEN TO HIS MASTERPIECES, WHOM I ALSO WORKED WITH, LIKE DIONNE WARWICK & YES, CAROLE BAYER SAGER TOO! HE WILL BE MISSED > THERE WAS ONLY 1 BURT BACHARACH!
I so wish Dusty Springfield had been alive to add her magic to this tribute. Although all the performers did a fantastic job, no one sang Bacharach and David's music like Dusty did. God bless you, Dusty.
Burt Bacharach pure light, moore brilliant than a dimond. Thank you for your beautyful music. I discover his music long time ago and was the most beautiful surprise i had in my life
mr B passed on yesterday-thank you sir for your absolutely beautiful music-stylings/orchestrations/lyrics - there is no equal your work will live on forever and thank you for that - rest in peace
Great to see so many fantastic artists, especially Edwin Starr, who passed in 2003. What a treasure to see Burt and Elvis Costello perform live together here. And then to have Dion Warwick come out to sing, with Burt accompanying her, simply marvelous!
Wow! 20 years ago. I am watching this on September 24 2020. BB is still living 92, so is Pet Clark 87, so is Dionne 79. I feel so lucky to live in the same time as these people....an amazing concert. This is history. Thank you for posting it.
My husband, a stroke survivor, and the kind of person that Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy is for. It's his birthday tonight, and we came along this video because he really relates to Burt Bacharach. As soon as I put it on he sang along -- beautiful, spledid. Thank you to all of you who donated your energy to this performance and video. Even though we can not be a part of what you are all doing at Nordoff-Robbins (wish we could), we enjoyed from afar in the Netherlands.
+Robert - Ellyn Pit sitting listening to this . don't know you but read your comment and it touched me, hope you and your husband are well and loving life
I feel touched by the show, by the memories it brings, by your story and by your husband's singing along. God bless us all and the world through these sad times of pandemy. Greetings from Brazil.
Wonderful Performances. Loved this Tribute. These days of quality Shows, Tributes, Award shows, and Television are long Gone with that Generation and the one that followed.
Hard to believe that Burt and I were kids together -- hanging out on West 52nd Street in New York City -- home of some great jazz clubs. In those days (the 1940's) my favorite haunt was The Three Deuces run by Sammy Kaye. Sammy and the clubs are all gone, now -- and with them an important piece of my life never to be recovered. Time can be painful!
How wonderful to read your words full of sweet remembrances. You made very happy as you probably were. Music, memories mixed up makes what life is all about. Thanks for your important comment
Love Burt's and Hal's music....have loved it for 60 years! What brilliance to write such outstanding musical notes. Thank you God for blessing them with their talents which blesses us! Thank you gentlemen!
RI beautiful peace, Burt Bacharach! You were a part of my childhood growing up. I loved listening to your music on the stereo when my mother and father had parties.xx00
Thank-you Hal David and Burt Bacharach. You both put LOVE and Passion in your Music. Touch so many Heart's and Soul. I remember this Music as a little girl and brings me back to my childhood memories of my parents. My mom is 94 years old and my Dad has already gone Home to be with the Lord. I still listening to this beautiful Music in the year 2018.Sincerely Lisa Herrera
I like the older, traditional singers doing Burt and Hal's songs. Just can't get into the interpretations of the young people here. When you sing a great song, you need to be great at it's interpretation. Ahhh, finally Dionne and Burt come out and the whole room lights up! I have listened to nearly every Bacharach song, by many singers. These young ones just don't interpret this music well at all, nor do a couple of the older ones, no matter if they have a good voice. RIP Burt Bacharach. You have brought such sweet music, along with Hal, to the world.
Today, May 12th. 2017 Mr Bacharach is 88 years young and with a music legacy that will last FOREVER. Thanks for all the MUSIC and good times along this past 60 years for me and many people all over the world.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was a wonderful tribute to Burt and his music. The best part was when toward the end, he popped in to conduct the last piece (I thought he was he was dead??? Then I realized this was an old show from the past. Old age is a bitch!!!
The great iconic music of BACHARACH & DAVID, but let's be honest we'd rather hear the original artists, the original musicians, orchestrators and sound mixers... in short you can never recapture that perfect sound that those original recordings gave us... the music videos are out there, and there were plenty of them long before MTV came along! As noble a tribute that these talented artists try to convey, at least they had the sense to showcase the legendary B&D icon DIONNE WARWICK! The diverse music of the 1960's and 70's was the very best, and us Baby Boomers can be thankful we grew up with it.
Love this concert. I can listen over and over without wearing the record out. It will live on as one of the great tributes to Burt and Hal for their unique contribution to 20th century culture. Excuse me while I listen again
Excellent composer, excellent arranger, his music has left a legacy. Important for the film industry. A man with a sensitivity to interpret the chords of sounds. Congratulations to Burt Bacharach.
Mr. Bacharach along with Mr. David, they wrote the soundtrack of my chilhood and teenager years. Burt Bacharach is the more important musician of the second half of the 20th Century,His music will live forever.!!!! Imagine a world without "Close to you" or "The look of love", Can you?
I totally agree-just the lyrics to these wonderful songs by Mr. David, he is truly blessed to be able to write song lyrics so wonderfully, like these little stories that rhyme perfectly and the choice of words he uses just as wonderful!! And the music by Burt is totally memory making...LOVE it!!

What performances to honor Mr. Burt Bacharach and Mr. Hal David. These two gentlemen, what they have given our world from the combination of music and lyrics, are dreams. It's a night of stars, effervescent in diamonds. All of the singers were fabulous, but my favorites were Ms. Petulia Clarke, the phenomenon Edward Stark, and the one and only Ms. Dione Warwick . With deep appreciation and respect for all who participated in this legendary night. ❤️
When we have the chance to grow with this wonderful music and lyrics, we must be grateful to live with Burt Bacharach, Hal David and Diane Worthwick time for music ! Thank you Lord! The two gentlemen are working together again in heaven ❤
I have always loved Burt Bacharack and Hal David's compositions, lyrics, music and all the singers they brought in to sing their songs. They are such an amazing duo and together with their singers, transform me to another world, altogether. Thank you and my utmost admiration to you all.
Such beautiful music, lyrics so rich in content that you can relate to, remember all his music being played on a Harman Kardon stereo growing up at my Mom n Dads, beautiful memories! Burt and Hal, real class act!!!
Wasn’t enjoying the performances until Dionne Warwick showcased her legendary voice. Her voice was meant for his music. A beautiful combination.
Burt Bacharach has just passed away. I love his songs so much. I am so sad. I grew up listening to his music. May I say a little prayer for you and you are right when you said what the world needs now is love. We love you so much.
AGREED... I couldn't have said it better myself.

Burt, Hal and Dionne made magic!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Why hasn’t media had any special about the genius of Burt Bach❓

I remember this Music as a little girl and brings me back to my childhood memories of my parents. My mom is 94 years old and my Dad has already gone Home to be with the Lord. I still listening to this beautiful Music in the year 2018.Sincerely Lisa Herrera
My mother had Dionne Warwick records when I was a kid and I listened to them everyday. This concert is one of the best things I have
Just can't do it like the original musicians and vocals. Thank you Bert Bacharach!
Bacharach-David are one of the greatest songwriting teams in music history.
To love is easy, TO forgive is essential, To wait is the way,To smile to Heal, To touch A bandage, a Friend A True Blessing...CARRY ON DARLING.
Burt Bacharach, true legend of world music, will remain forever in our memories. Rest in peace!🙏🙏🙏
My mistake, actually today is Mr. Bacharach 89th. Birthday.
Undoubtedly, beautiful music of Burt Bacharach. His music immortalizes him
thank you so much for so many musical gems, go ahead and go shine on high, distribute light, life and much love, we love you.✨🌹
Rest well....Mr.Hal David and Mr.Burt Bacharach 🕊️😔
Thank you
The moment Dionne appears just raises the energy in the room by volumes. Amazing!
This was a wonderful tribute to Burt and his music. The best part was when toward the end, he popped in to conduct the last piece (I thought he was he was dead??? Then I realized this was an old show from the past. Old age is a bitch!!!
This set starts off with a sax player who nails it big time. Well done.
I thought so too. It sets the tone for what was to come.
QUE SHOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [ Brasil - Rio de Janeiro] [ 13/02/24 ]
Burt Bacharach & Hal David and Petula Clark. Priceless.
Was lucky enough to see him on his last UK tour at Birmingham Symphony Hall a wonderful evening RIP Burt.
I so enjoyed this. Burt Bacharach my love and Hal David! So, so happy Dionne Warwick was there and she was spectacular!
Other than this UA-cam (which is pretty low resolution, is there some other format recording? You said something about wearing out the record ....
All this songs will live (and sung) forevermore...isn't that fabulous??👏✨️1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣💙🪄👏👏👏✨️
Excellent composer, excellent arranger, his music has left a legacy. Important for the film industry. A man with a sensitivity to interpret the chords of sounds. Congratulations to Burt Bacharach.
Well, so much for no longer getting teary eyed. Wonderful stuff. Thanks for the upload, Rolando.
absolute class - I am absolutely thrilled to see these songs given such loving treatment and then the icing on the cake with Burt and Dionne
Such Class,up and down and all around in every way shape and form! Untouchable!!!
Mr. Bacharach along with Mr. David, they wrote the soundtrack of my chilhood and teenager years. Burt Bacharach is the more important musician of the second half of the 20th Century,His music will live forever.!!!!

I love Ms Dionne Warwick
Ms Sheny from Texas 🤠
Blessings
This is good for the soul, especially in troubled 2020.
