    This mans breathing is right on point in every movement he does. Notice he breaths through the nose thus increasing his nitrate oxide production and he uses a rhythm that is in perfect harmony with each movement. Breathing correctly is vital to achieving this level of discipline.

      @@DOMINICROY-i5b
      Yes. It naturally builds up in the nose cavity, and when you breathe exclusively through the nose, you can bring that into the lungs and it helps amplify good breathing.
      You can breathe out through the mouth or nose. But when you breathe in, you should always strive to exclusively breathe in through the nose precisely for this and other reasons.
      (Exclusively more so meaning as much as possible)
      Breathing through the nose also filters the air.
      Nose hairs pick up dirt and pollen and all sorts of things to stop it getting to the lungs thus preventing it from doing you harm. Breathing through the mouth doesn't filter the air.
      Plus the nasal cavity helps to warm the air so it's more closely the same temperature as the inside of your body. Again, breathing through the mouth doesn't do this.
      Breathing through the mouth can get you "more" oxygen, sure. But it is of lesser quality.
      For example, many fighters know that once their opponent begins to breath through their mouth, it's a sign that they're done, because they've, consciously or unconsciously, chosen quantity over quality, thus reducing their performance ability.

    This is very good workout for thights and for hips. Hips and strong legs are essential. not only for kicks, but also for boxing, throws and groundfighting. I try to training like this and it helps me a lot for better kicks, im better in hand techniques and knees, because my kicks were not realy good, stiff and not so high, but that training methods help me a lot. Horse stance also is very good training for wrestling. Thank You.

It's been years since I did the stance and really should start including it in my daily training even a few sets a day especially now that arthritis is an issue.

    Thank you for this video. I have a question: feet must not open externally, but must they stay perpendicularly to the shoulders' axe? In this video, as well as in other videos, it seems to me that they are slightly open. If they were perfectly parallel and looking frontward, wouldn't this posture put pressure on the knees (especially at cartilage level)?

    • @Jedi_Jed
      @Jedi_Jed Рік тому

      I’ve wondered and felt the same thing. I definitely feel stress on the knee and soreness later. Question is if it’s making the knee stronger and stable or wearing it down?

    • @kinjushtem4
      @kinjushtem4 Рік тому +1

      @@Jedi_JedLacking for response from shifu Yan Lei, I've asked my shifu. She told me that the knees may be slightly open, but the idea is to keep them staying perpendicularly to the shoulders' axe.
      This video helped me a lot to understand more clearly: ua-cam.com/video/HzUnN5njaHw/v-deo.htmlsi=O1P4orE-QzfH0HSc
      The goal is to keep knees at 90 degrees and not to let them fall towards the centre.
      And it's not important to get too low, but each one needs to find the right balance according to one's flexibility.
