Man, Joe Davis. Such a creative voice in the moment. “He’s gonna fit in just fine.” I don’t know if it’s possible to fill Vin’s shoes, but Joe’s got some pretty big shoes of his own.
And with him being part of the World Series commentary, he's going to need extra luck if the Dodgers make it to the Fall Classic.

A “curtain call” for just a ground rule double, can’t even imagine how much the stadium will erupt for his first homerun in LA… and with Atlanta coming back to town for our next series there would be no better moment

I was there. That curtain call lasted about 5 minutes with the Freddie chants coming back again and again and again. Never seen anything like it.

He wanted to stay in Atlanta, he has stated this b4, Atlanta didn't want to pay him what he asked for so they let him go.
@@j-quiz292 He said he wanted to stay there but there was no communication whatsoever. I think towards the end they offered him a matching offer to the Dodgers but JT called him almost every day and the dodgers organization were like sharks. He also turned down more money from different teams. He wanted to be in LA since most of his family lives here, he’s been owning a house here since forever. Plus his dad and grandfather can come see him every home game. So a lot of factors to it. I’m sure money was a factor but not the main reason.
@@poppat3238 my thoughts were different but I'm starting to agree with your train of thought. I don't really like Alex Anthopolous anyways, even though he made some of the best front office moves in the history of the sport last year. I'm definitely beginning to think he almost pushed Freddie away. They essentially gave Matt Olson the contract that Freddie asked for. No loyalty, all business. Freddie didn't even ask for an unreasonable contract and not communicating with him communicates a whole lot. Glad he ended up somewhere he's more appreciated and I do agree with you that he probably wanted to be with the dodgers more by the time it was time to sign. I don't think he was sad or shocked like braves fans made it out to be.

Freddie freeman is what a model baseball player is humble,respectful and a damn good hitter. Notice how he never gloats or over celebrates. This man brought tears to my eyes watching him soaking it all in. Yes it’s true Freddie we Dodgers have loved you since you were on the braves. Also thank you braves.

I'm not sure what to make of some of the stories coming out of ATL about Freddie. It almost sounds like a lot of players were happy to see him go. I feel like it just may be because he was more old school than the new guard.

@@hugo5086 I disagree. I've watched Freddie get into brawls with opposing players who were acting too cocky for his liking. Don't get me wrong, I like him. I just think his exit from ATL may have been better that most of us were led to believe.

Those and the many years he gave you guys were the reasons that lead you guys to know(not believe) him leaving was bad. Honestly, it’s the Braves fault for not paying him. He deserves more then was offered. The Dodgers appreciated his services more then the Braves. Plus you guys have Matt Olson who has the better upside. Braves fan coping Fr.
The Braves offered him the same amount AAV (per year). In fact they offer more when you consider the taxes in Cali. He didn’t sign for the extra year. I don’t hate Freddie but that was a lame reason not to sign. I wish him only but the best in LA. Braves got younger and, quite possibly, better at the position so it worked out.
