It’s crazy how you can totally see the love in his heart for the fans in Atlanta, he never wanted to leave . He’ll come back.
@yoda8802 It's quite telling that today there are reports he's shifting agencies. We Braves fans will always respect and remember Freddie never faltered. One of my all time favorites. Hope he finds a way home to us again someday, I don't care if he's hitting sub .200.
@yoda8802 Coincidentally, I just made a post saying how it saddened me to see Pujols leave the Cards, in similar thinking...so yes, absolutely and to see him return was fantastic. One day, maybe, our buddy comes home...
@yoda8802 At the end of the day, he signed the contract. He could of stayed. He could of called the GM himself.
Dang right
@@laryanstewart What do you mean he could of stayed? That makes no sense.
It's very rare that a visiting player gets this type of treatment from a home crowd. But it's Freddie!
I live in Atlanta, and one thing I can say is that we have some of the classiest fans in the MLB. Even when Glavine left to go to the hated Mets he got a standing O when he came back. We love our Braves even after they leave. Most teams fans dont show that kind of class.
@@marinewillis1202 that is an absolute lie about Glavine. He got boo’d relentlessly by Braves fans.
@@galenhart not in his first game back. After we boo'd the snot out of him. But when he first came back we gave him cheers. Then he got shelled and only lasted i think 2 innings
@@marinewillis1202 I was at his first game back, and all I heard was boo’s…….but maybe it was my section.
@@marinewillis1202 as a Mets fan I wish our team was that classy but unfortunately we’re not
I’m not crying, you’re crying. 😭. Well deserved. Good guy.

@@rvegasguy_5216 braves traded for olson before he signed anywhere
Why you cutting onions?
A man doesn't;t get that emotional unless someone/something has a profound impact on them. You can tell just how much Freddie Freeman loves and appreciates Braves fans and the city of Atlanta. Well-deserved ring for him after 12 long years
Agent lied to him. Guy never wanted to leave ATL.
As a Dodger fan, I’m glad Freddie is in the team. He’s a classy player, leader and great mentor to the younger generation coming up through the organization. But I don’t think he’s a Dodger through and through, and that’s okay. LA borrowed him from Atlanta. At heart, he’s a brave until he dies. But that’s not going to negatively affect his effort and intentions in another uniform. I hope both Freeman and Olsen work out in their new homes.
As a Champion Atlanta Braves fan (🏆), I agree 100% with what you said. Good Luck ✌️⚾️
Yeah, I’m a dodger fan of over 30yrs and I agree with all that.
Damn Olson!!! Freddie Freddie Freddie
It’s not his fault
Great call 🙌
We love you Freddie from a braves fan
He’s always a brave in my book
I love Freddie, from a Mets fan
I love the braves to I don’t like him as much because he was Greedy and waited to long to get more money because he was not accepting we traded for Matt Olsen and then he had no choice but still love him
This legit made me cry! Nobody should ever wear the #5 in Braves history again! We love you Freddie! -Lifelong Braves fan
Or even wear it

I just noticed that….🤦🏻♂️
Being one of the greats isn’t just about putting up the numbers, it’s also how you carry yourself as a person in and off the field. An excellent player, an excellent person.
Nah...this is baseball,a professional sport...not a charity or a church(and I'm a christian)... It's about the numbers and trophies (individual and/or collective)

Class act!!! Always enjoy watching Freeman smiling and having fun out there. Congrats on getting your ring. One of the greatest that I'm glad my mets won't have to face too often. Congrats again!!
*Chris, YOU are a classy Mets fan. Respect.*
Let’s not forget he is a met killer too….BUT that being said I respect him enough wheres a great leader and overall a great dude to have in your ball club….LFGM!
Hes a snake
Some teams reach greatness. I love that baseball fans recognize that some players stand tall on their own merit. Respect to Atlanta fans for welcoming him home. We Dodger fans know how lucky we are. Freddy doesn't belong to a team. He belongs to baseball.
What an awesome way to phrase it! Our loss is your gain. We fans didn't want him to go and we miss him. You got a good one in Freddie!
You made me well up with emotion again. I’m a Red Sox fan and have been lucky/blessed to have seen some truly great baseball players play for my team. Over the past few years I have become a Freddie Freeman fan. He is one of the All-time greats. I have made a couple trips to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. I hope to one day see Freddie enshrined there.
*Well stated John! Here's a virtual beer from me to you, sir: 🍺*
@@andyroid5028 Cheers
Well said!!!!⚾️
Not a Braves or Dodgers fan, but I knew that Freddie was returning to Atlanta and was curious to see the reception he would get. I expected him to get a warm welcome and he did. Great job by the Braves and their fans. Freddie is also a class act and I'm sure he'll go into the Hall of Fame with a Braves cap on.
He will always be a brave no matter, the man stuck with the bad times and ended up paying off in the end. I’m happy for him, the city of Atlanta will always be thankful for his leadership and dutiful play on the field.
What a clss act Freedie Freeman is. I always cheered for him when he was a Brave. One of the really good guys on and off the field. ⚾️⚾️⚾️👍
Yep! Class act. Followed the money. Classy.
Keep cheering for him...he'll always be a brave
One of the best examples of hard work and dedication paying off.
Truly one of the most emotional moments in baseball since Pujols returned to STL as an Angel. I seriously have never cried for an team and player that isn’t mine, but God this is why I love baseball!

He's definitely a hof player, and also a good dude. He's still kicking butt after 12 years too.
He ages like fine wine as he gets older playing in the MLB
Almost got batting leader this season too. He’s still showing great ability.
his speech got me crying 😭
same that warm my heart, I so happy for him 🥹
Simply amazing, and Freddie deserves every bit of love he gets in Atlanta 👏 It's really touching to see how much his time as a Brave meant to him, and shows how much he cared about the team. I don't think he wanted to leave Atlanta the way he had to and I wish more athletes got the chance to form this kind of relationship w a fan base like they did back in day.
Lol 3 Ks last night, glad we gave him the hat trick. He’s a villain now
I’m sad that he left Atlanta, but he accomplished so much with the Braves. Thank you Freddie:)
That’s the ovation that 1500 games will get you
Takes a lot of courage to be so vulnerable in a moment like that. Freddie is a legendarily good guy. He’s not bad at the baseball thing either
Freddie Freeman and Chipper Jones my 2 all time favorites!!! Go Braves!!! Greetings from Guatemala 🇬🇹❤️
I'm an older fan , so I would add Henry Aaron. Saw him hit two bombs in the playoffs vs the Mets back in the day. Still have my Henry Aaron scrapbook that I started in 1964 by cutting out newspaper clippings. Last page in the scrapbook is Henry's induction into the Hall of Fame. Met Mr. Aaron in Greenwich, CT shortly after he retired and he was kind enough to look through my scrapbook and sign the page that had the story of his 3,000th hit and the NY Daily News story about breaking Babe Ruth's record.
Can’t agree with you more! I was saying the exact same thing!
Arriba, Dubon!

I love Freddie Freeman coming from an Astros fan I hope he does well In LA
No, no, I was just slicing some onions. Great presentation from the Braves and their fans.
Forever an Atlanta Brave. Thank You Freddie. Braves Country loves you.
I’ll miss him but he’s always a true Brave
How can you not love Freddie Freeman!
Once a Brave, always a Brave. Thank you, Freddie.
Blood sweat and tears, that's Freddie. Good Father, husband, and just an all-around good guy.
What a freakin’ legend… class act!
I lived every year of my life knowing he was the braves one and he went to the dodgers and it was sad.
Always loved Freeman. A class act and one of the best first basemen I’ve ever seen. Hope the Braves retire Number 5 for him. No one else should ever wear that number for the Braves.
No one is ever going to wear 5 in Atlanta again, until Freddie comes back for his farewell tour in ATL. Then it will officially hang on the hank Aaron terrace right next to Bobby’s. He’s a hof, Braves for life, and great human being. We’d be dumb not to retire his number.

Sucked u got hurt bro..I think you were heading for back to back MVP's..
@@mikerusso703 yeah I know. At least I made the All-star team after being robbed of a visit last year. I will be back this year though.
Yankees fan here - gotta say I think he is the most stand up guy in the MLB. Absolute class act, incredible player an individual. Will always be a Freddie fan.
Freddie Freman a class act!!
If that doesn't look like a player who wishes he never left the Braves I don't know what does? I think he truly realized this today.
Future Hall of Famer!
His agent held the braves ransom for that fifth year and it blew up in his face. He actually would have made more per year as a Brave. His agent thought because it was Freddie it wouldn't be strictly business. Boy was he wrong.
@@mikeb3936 I think I'd be looking for a new agent!
@@nicoleknight9412 agreed plus the deal they secured from the dodgers includes 50 million in deferred payment. If freeman is traded he loses that 50 million in deferrals. The dodgers can trade him in his last year and not have to pay him the 50 million. Terrible deal.
@@mikeb3936 which I am sure they will mainly because freeman has shown some signs that the dodgers isn’t the place he wants to be. The clubhouse will turn on him Kershaw has spoken also on it.

ur fortunate to have had him for 15 years and we dodger supporters are fortunate to have him for the next 6 years. enjoy matt olson. he’s the perfect replacement for him. 💙⚾️💙❤️ we respect the rivalry here.
As a Braves fan, I couldn’t help but let it flow. He was my guy. Made me get down on the floor and cry my eyes out.
Thank you, Freddie…
It hurts when our beloved players leave. I wish the owners and front office understood this....it is crucial that the fans have relationships with the team.
@@marygoff3332 the front office did everything they could to keep him. But Freddie's representation demanded to the point to where it wouldve been fiscally irresponsible to keep him. I dont hold a single grudge against the organization. They wanted him back! But there ARE limits! The money spigot only flows so much. Greed is why Freddie is in L.A. and not back in Atlanta where he belongs.
Braves fans are just simply the best fans
@@killerdude35 Sad thing is Freddie wanted to be back just as badly. It was never really about the money it was about Freddie wanting a 6 yr contract. Freddie’s agent played the situation horribly and Freddie got blindsided.
@@williamwhitfield6225 Then Freddie should've been absolutely clear with his representation that while negotiating for a better/more lucrative contract was certainly a priority, him playing for anyone else was non-negotiable. I understand Freddie's frustration but ultimately the buck stops with him, doesn't it? I believe Chipper tried to make him understand that the organization would move on from him and he didn't listen.
This makes me proud to be a lifetime braves fan born and raised 30 miles south of Atlanta🙏
Freddie Freeman is still my favorite baseball player of all time. For Christmas I got a autographed baseball by him. I have his jersey too so when he left the Braves I was the saddest I had been in a long time.
The exact sort of player you want on your team-a beast on the field, a sweetheart off it.
Man o man if you didn’t cry for this idk what to tell you. Especially from a great baseball player and flat out awesome human being. Definitely a role model and a player you can root for no matter what. A Class Act . As a Yankees fan and of course baseball fan in general there have been many great speeches this will be another added to that list. That’s the beauty of sports it unites people across the globe no matter what your background is and that’s what we can only ask for. It takes us away from the problems that we deal with in everyday life even if it’s for several hours. ✊ and congrats to Freddy Freeman and continue your success
It’s ok to cry in baseball in this one particular moment.
I had never seen this, and that was quite an outpouring by the fans. You can readily see how much Freddie -- great player, great guy - appreciated it.
I think i cried more than Freddie did lol well deserved. even he's wearing dodger blue to me he'll always be a brave.

Class act from the braves faithful, they weren't bitter at all and showed freeman the respect he so richly deserved.
Missing you so much Freddie. I grew up watching you in the minors and then the majors. You're my favorite and always will be. I still sad when I turn on a game and you're not there. What I love about Freddie, as a Dodgers and baseball fan for 60 years, is he's friendly..
I’ve lived in Georgia my entire life. What a moment! We love you forever Freddie, no matter what! Thank you for acknowledging the extent of the fan base. It involves several states. So many dedicated Braves Country fans. You have further solidified our powerful legacy and extensive list of baseball accomplishments sir! Chop on!
As an Astros fan living in atlanta I was feeling all sorts of emotions
Glad he could win with Atlanta thank you Freddie for everything you have done for this championship ring great guy
Last time I felt this emotion was when Pujols was at Busch stadium for the first time and when he hit a homerun. And I'm a Dodgers fan. But this one means more because he's now playing for us. Unlike the Angels, we will be contending to win the World Series with Freddie Freeman.
Wow! I’ve been a Freddie fan for a few years even before he came to the Dodgers. I’ve always loved and admired his grace and class. Every time he takes his first AB of a game, as he walks up to the plate, he always greets the opposing team’s catcher and then the umpire. Pure class. So glad he’s a Dodger now 💕
Freddie you are still the man .You will always be one of my favorite players. You play the game the right way. Best of luck to you and your family. I love Freddie Freeman>
Poor Freddie they crushed that guys heart he obviously loved being a Brave
He got bad advice from his agent. He wanted to sign but was told to hold out by agent for more money and years. Braves couldn't take that chance and had to make a move. I think he wanted to retire a brave deep down.
@@jamieanderson6222 He was an Angels fan. People just say anything today. Verification is okay.
@@sethtate2079 Define bad advice. The dude had been getting underpaid his entire career by the Braves. By signing him to 38, they would've been giving him what he deserved all along. He would've stayed in ATL had they gotten even close to the Dodgers' offer. Then they turn around and sign Olson for a bunch of money.
@@CarlosSanchez-lc1pn As a former minor league player, I can tell you with certainty, the only thing a sports organization/Braves owe any player is a paycheck. You don't deserve 'jack,' baseball is a business just like any other and you get what you negotiate! Sounds harsh but it's 100% the truth!
