Lyrics:
Daydreaming and I'm thinking of you
Daydreaming and I'm thinking of you
Daydreaming and I'm thinking of you
Daydreaming and I'm thinking of you
Look at my mind floating away
He's the kind of guy that would say
Hey, baby let's get away
Let's go some place, huh
Where I don't care
He's the kind of guy that you give your everything
And trust your heart, share all of your love
Till death do you part
I want to be what he wants
When he wants it and whenever he needs it
And when he's lonesome and feeling love starved
I'll be there to feed it
I'm loving' him a little bit more each day
Turns me right on when I hear him say
Hey, baby, let's get away
Let's go somewhere far
Baby can we
Where, I don't care
Hey baby let's get away
Let's go somewhere far
Baby can we
Where, I don't care
I want to be what he wants when he wants it
And whenever he needs it
And when he's lonesome and feeling love starved
I'll be there to feed it
Loving him a little bit more each day
It turns me right on when I hear him say
Hey, baby, let's get away
Let's go somewhere far
Baby can we
Where, I don't care
Hey baby let's get away
Let's go somewhere far
Baby can we
Where, I don't care
Hey, baby, let's get away
Let's go somewhere far
Baby can we
Where, I don't care
Hey baby let's get away
Let's go somewhere far
Baby can we
Where, I don't care
Daydreaming and I'm thinking of you
Daydreaming and I'm thinking of you
Daydreaming and I'm thinking of you
Daydreaming and I'm thinking of you
Look at my mind floating away
Day... dreaming
Day... dreaming

An icon of 20th and 21st century music, the voice of the civil rights movement, and the undisputed Queen of Soul-there is only one Aretha Franklin. In her incredible six-decade career, Aretha evolved from teenage gospel star to reigning pop and R&B diva, recording classics like “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman,” “Chain Of Fools”, “Think” (lyrics by Aretha Franklin), definitive versions of the songs “Respect” and “I Say a Little Prayer”, and global hits like “Freeway Of Love,” “I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)”, and “A Rose Is Still A Rose.”
Altogether, 112 of her singles reached the charts, with 20 No. 1 R&B singles, the most ever by a female artist. She won 18 Grammy Awards (including the first eight trophies for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance) and, out of recognition for her for indelible contribution to American music and culture, received both the Presidential Medal Of Freedom and a Pulitzer Prize.

"Daydreaming" in 2023. It still has that vibe! ❤
My ex sister in law use to play this album in1970 or 71rip little Mary ❤❤
When I was a little girl we didnt have a lot of money but one Christmas I got a radio. I used to open the window to my room in our apartment and listen to Aretha on the local station. And Roberta Flack's "Killing Me Softly". Those womens' words touched my heart at such an early stage.
I'm moved right now
Rest peacefully sweet Angel 💜
This one is for my sister in law who passed away this morning. I will miss her dearly, but never will I forget her. 😢
✝️🙏🏾🕊
I’m sorry for your loss. Sending you love ♥️
So sorry for your loss. Hope your fun times with her still lives in. ❤
So sorry for your loss 😔🙏🏽
"Angel" " Call Me" and " Daydreaming " are my favorites!
Mines, too, I also love All the Kings horses
Oh, wow, I’ve never heard this song before! This is one of her most underrated songs! It’s so smooth and relaxed, I love it.
Welcome aboard! ❤️
It's a beautiful song
I only heard MJBs version til today!!! This one is smoooooth!
I Agree ❤️
Omg no This song was released doing my school daze in the 70..Off the album Young Gifted and Black!! Stayed on the top 20 for weeks back in the day!! Great skating jam also. So relaxing. I love it.
I'm thinking about someone who's not thinking of me......sad
Help me Jesus!
Quit it. You looking that way is keeping you from the blessing who is looking at and thinking of you!
Me too . Thanks hop

You are Loved!!! There Loss❤🌸
This might be my favourite Aretha song. Everything about it is utter perfection.
Agreed!
Yesss, it is. I totally agree.
Yes, it's got that gospel spirit feel to it
Agree
DEFINITELY my favorite by Mrs Aretha Franklin HANDS DOWN!!🥰🥰🥰🥰
Backing vocalists are superb. Kudos!
The backing singers were her sisters! They also sang with her in the Blues Brothers movie. She also had Cissy Houston (Whitney’s mother) as a backing singer too.
@@JonathanReynolds1информация трогает душу .Спасибо ❤.Как нам много лет 😊
She’s in the backing vocals as well.
She wrote this song 'Day Dreaming' and it received a Grammy nomination. It didn't win but I loving it 😊
In fact, she did win the grammy. But out of loyalty she gave it to Esther Phillips, "who deserved it more", in Aretha's own words. Esther was nominated for her album "Home is where the hatred is", but Aretha won. Esther just came out of rehab and this was a beautiful gesture from Aretha. She wrote it with Temptation Dennis Edwards in mind.
Did you know she wrote that song regarding Dennis Edwards of the Temptations. My favorite was “Oh me, Oh my” also regarding Dennis Edwards. He eventually married a Pointer Sister; I think June or Bonnie, as I recollect. Just a little tidbit for trivia sake.
@@elizabethroberts2970 Yes. It has been said that Aretha sang this song about Dennis Edwards of Temptations fame. However, Dennis had a relationship with oldest Pointer Sister, Ruth,, but they were never married. Check it Out! Ciao!!!
@@merkjanoosterhoff1590 She unfortunately did not win the Best Pop Performance Female Grammy for Day Dreaming. She won for Young, Gifted and Black in the R&B category.
@@sirblack1619 l know...(Daydreaming is on that album)
This is one of my favorite Aretha tunes. I like the idea of daydreaming.
She wrote this about Dennis Edwards of the Temptations mentioned before on this site.. Aretha was head over heels in love with Mr. Edwards
This song is truly for 2 people in love-that would be my man and me.
Aretha allowed the background singers to absolutely SHINE on this track. That’s one thing I loved about her, her background singers all had distinctly, powerful voices.
The way their voices fade out into the orchestration is GENIUS and magical.
Aretha wasn’t afraid to let her background singer do it.
Her sisters Irma and Carolyn were her backup and I think Cissy Houston may have recorded backing vocals with Aretha (and Luther, and many others).
Fun fact: While the song “Respect” was written by legendary songwriter Carol King, but one of Aretha’s sisters suggested the Re,Re,Re,ReSPECT part as a addition when they recorded it!
The 70's was the apex of Black Music. No discussion.
So good and so much variety.
Agreed.
Truly! So happy I got to “live” it and now so blessed to have UA-cam to re-listen.
My parents had this album, but it exists no more, including my own albums that were lost.😞
I had repurchased some things that I lost to play on iPod, but I can’t buy it all, so than god or somebody for UA-cam, bec even if I were a millionaire, some things aren’t available to download to play on iPhone to play.
She was the greatest!❤
Listen with earphones drums are on one side and the bass is on the other it’s amazing how they did that back then 😊
Amazing
Wow! This sounds amazing 🤩
Just amazing!👍🏽
You’re so right!
yeah they had talent. today they dont. stereo isnt used. a sound is what it is, using a plug in. and haas is used on a vocal to make it "sound fat" and they sell your generation the record. and its crap. I defy ANY "beat maker" to attempt to use a plug in and make the drums all on one side and the bass on another and see how it comes out. it will sound like backside booty, because plug ins and digital recording cant match analog.
I am 73 but when I here the queen takes me to my younger days and it's wonderful. ❤
Like it was yesterday😢❤❤
Oh yes!
This song is the queen of soul daydreaming of the temptation Dennis Edwards he has her in a daze

Aretha Franklin what more can be said a genius beautiful music no bad words just beautiful music
YOU must be from Tina Turner’s hometown of Nutbush Tennessee bec Aretha Franklin was actually born in Memphis Tennessee, but when very young, her family migrated north (as a part of the African American “Great Migration” out of the South) to Buffalo NY (close the the Canadian border) but spent most of her childhood In Detroit Michigan.
'Day Dreaming of you' A Classic man. To never forget it. Aretha Franklin 😊❤️👑🎆. Love this song. Keep her music alive. #Detroit and world. #Angel

Where has this been all my life?! What a beautiful song!!
When I was in high-school, my friend and I would go to her house and this song was on the back of the record. We probably listened it over a hundred times. It was underrated for that song.
One of my favourite Aretha Franklin songs. Listened to it on a 45rpm, until the grooves were almost nill!
Jeez, who makes music like this? So magical and amazing. I listened to it today and it sent me way back to another world, where I first heard it. Wow! Just wow!!!
Right!! This is real singing.
One of her greatest self-penned originals (along with "Rock Steady") on one of her best albums...long live the Queen!
