As I finished the video, I was about to leave a comment saying "I was screaming K-Rod" yet your top comment is already doing that, just to show his affect and disinterest at the same time.
Or switch it up and they have to think of a batter who might have the least amount of strikeouts for that position with 130 or more games played that season
I like this idea. And like someone suggested they could also do one with the least amount of strikeouts. I do like the higher strikeout idea better though.
thought we'd see at least one of the As big three from 2001 (zito, hudson, mulder) or krod's 2004 season. either way, really been liking these strikeout drafts!
I guess they're not super obvious picks but Raisel Iglesias's closer season for LAA, Matt Brash's 2023 and especially Blake Treinen's 0.78 ERA 2018 all came to mind
As a lifelong Mariners fan, I can tell you with absolute certainty: Nobody outside of fans of the teams gives a shit about the AL West. ESPECIALLY now that Sho-time is on the Dodgers lol
Dalton unlocked a future video idea - once you get through all divisions you should do an open division (no restrictions) draft of pitchers with the most k’s with one team. And limit it to one pitcher per mlb team
@eoghbass2886 I didn't realize that I guess I didn't post close enough attention in those videos. However maybe someone from the company will see my post and take him 🤣 🤣 🤣.
Early 2000s are kinda iffy for strikeouts because hitter plate approach back then wanted less strikeouts. You wouldn't get those crazy strikeout numbers outside of the obvious Pedro, Rocket, Randy, and Curt.
My team: Seattle 2010 Felix Hernandez 232 (picked) Angels 2022 Shohei Otani 219 (picked) Oakland 2004 Barry Zito 163 Astros 2019 Justin Verlander 300 (picked) Rangers 2011 Derek Holland 162 Angels 2007 K Rod 90 Rangers 2011 Neftali Felix 54 Astros 2005 Brad Lidge 157 Total: 1377 Obviously without having other opponents I could get what I wanted, but I really thought Zito and Holland had more. Was going to go with Mulder for the A's but couldn't pick a good year. Surprisingly his best was only 159 anyway. My only other pick for Rangers was Cliff Lee, but I couldn't remember if he was there for a full season (he was not). For relievers, the Lidge pick was goated, but I didn't get K Rod's year correct as 2004 has 123. And for my 3rd reliever I literally had no idea, just went with a sure bet to have anything.
Alternate title: “If you want to spend 16 minutes screaming K-Rod at your screen, watch this video”
I was thinking he was easy first reliever off the board.... This is gonna be a fun video.
One that was crazy
He was such a force right from the start as a rookie in the playoffs and WS 2002.
what about nolan ryan? am i tripping?
Lol
The lack of K-Rod for any of the relievers was a huge shame.
People forget how good K-Rod was earlier in his career in Anaheim. I think because under the bright lights of New York he was kind of meh.
“K” is literally his name, how could they NOT mention him
04
As I finished the video, I was about to leave a comment saying "I was screaming K-Rod" yet your top comment is already doing that, just to show his affect and disinterest at the same time.
What about Percival ?
I’d love to see a draft where you have to draft the hitter with the most strikeouts 🙌🏻
Yeah can we get a bummer draft on April 1st
This is a solidddd idea
I second this
Or switch it up and they have to think of a batter who might have the least amount of strikeouts for that position with 130 or more games played that season
I like this idea. And like someone suggested they could also do one with the least amount of strikeouts. I do like the higher strikeout idea better though.
The kid on the right is giving off 80s teen movie villain vibes.
I can not believe in a Ks draft, nobody chose the man whose nickname literally uses K in it lmao
thought we'd see at least one of the As big three from 2001 (zito, hudson, mulder) or krod's 2004 season. either way, really been liking these strikeout drafts!
I know I was waiting for the Barry zito
Hudson and mulder werent as much strikeout guys. Zito is '01 2nd behind montas
I guess they're not super obvious picks but Raisel Iglesias's closer season for LAA, Matt Brash's 2023 and especially Blake Treinen's 0.78 ERA 2018 all came to mind
I was expecting someone to pick Treinen 2018
Daltons over the hedge comparison couldn’t be more accurate
hedge up
Dan’s face at 9:24 is absolute gold.
Really enjoyed Dan in this game, hilarious and way more knowledgeable than I expected
catching up on the older draft vids. this one might be one of the funniest. dalton's "hedge up" made me laugh harder than it should've
Jolly saying "I'm sitting next to two cartoon characters" got me
love when they do AL West
Dalton dropped a dud with 67Ks and still won by over 100 😂
Damn, what a let down performance from everyone after the NL West video
As a lifelong Mariners fan, I can tell you with absolute certainty: Nobody outside of fans of the teams gives a shit about the AL West. ESPECIALLY now that Sho-time is on the Dodgers lol
Dalton unlocked a future video idea - once you get through all divisions you should do an open division (no restrictions) draft of pitchers with the most k’s with one team. And limit it to one pitcher per mlb team
The minute Dan made his first pick I knew it was gonna be a fun ep
These draft videos have been some of my favorite stuff you guys make
How was k rod not taken during this lmao. Dan doing this was great
Let’s go jolly!!!! Love theses little vids, jomboy needs to give this man a raise (equity) 😂
2019 Gerrit Cole was insane
I was screaming 2019 Lance Lynn when they took Perez and Eovaldi after Darvish was off the board for Texas.
That was when he was paired with the catching GOAT Jeff Mathis, right? That one-two punch with Lynn and Minor was gas
Jolly must be highly suggestable. The other two already had their angels when dalton jedi mind tricked him into taking shoemaker
The fact Brad Lidge in '04 can't be used in this or the nl central video is horrible. Someone needs that 157k's
If these are like the Homer Drafts, they’ll be able to use 2000 - 2012 Astros for the NL Central. Not that you’d really want anyone after 2005 lol
@eoghbass2886 I didn't realize that I guess I didn't post close enough attention in those videos. However maybe someone from the company will see my post and take him 🤣 🤣 🤣.
@@eoghbass2886 2009 Wandy Rodriguez and 2008 Jose Valverde erasure
@@pudge5614 Lidge had 157k’s???
Absolutely insane that Cole, Verlander, Darvish and Darvish weren't 1, 2, 3 & 4.
Pretty sure you can win this with the players still left available. All the names that didn't get picked was crazy
After watching the video I scrolled down, expecting to see comments about K-Rod. I was not disappointed.
You guys should do drafting teams, one person picks the player and the other person on their team picks the year
That Neftali Feliz shoutout hurt my soul
Getting Matt Schumaker'd was crazy
Yall should do ERA and who ever has the lowest average
Y'all are pretty cool dudes
K Rod, Bartolo, John Lackey, Neftali Feliz, Tim Hudson, Mark Mulder, Barry Zito, Andrew Bailey, Octavio Dotel
these videos are the best.
Me screaming 2015 Dallas Keuchel at my screen for 15 minutes
my lineup
Starters
2001 Barry Zito- 205
2015 Dallas Keuchel - 216
2011 C.J Wilson- 206
2005 John Lackey -199
2002 Freddy Garcia -181
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Bullpen
2003 Billy Wagner - 105
2003 Scot Shields - 111
2018 Blake Treinen - 100
----------------------------------------------------
total 1323 K's
2003 Wagner was still NL Central
..."hot in the seats?" 😂
Kazuhiro Sasaki was crazy in 2000, surprised he wasn't taken, he had more that were in some folks' bullpen
Early 2000s are kinda iffy for strikeouts because hitter plate approach back then wanted less strikeouts. You wouldn't get those crazy strikeout numbers outside of the obvious Pedro, Rocket, Randy, and Curt.
huge W for me and my boys
baited him with that Shoemaker callout loool
How was 2001 Barry Zito not picked?
How was 2019 Gerrit Cole not a first round pick
I can almost guarantee in the next strikeout draft (AL Central) jolly uses '03 Esteban Loaiza
I've been waiting for the AL West round and was hoping someone would throw out the sick pick of Michael Wuertz on the '09 A's with 102 strikeouts lol
I just want to say I had K-Rod 2004 as 1-1 and sat here for 16 minutes baffled at the lack of K-Rod in the K’s draft
Me screaming out 2021 Raisel Iglesias for the Angels the entire time
2008 Irvin Santana, 2005-2006 John Lackey, 2018 Heaney, are a few more good picks for Angels starters
Dan Rourke is always a good time.
Lance Lynn and Mike Minor both got to 200K for the Rangers in 2019, and they were both left off the board.
Gotta do a division draft with hits by players
hedge up
Wins aRe important Jolly, they always will be.
I love Dan so much
CJ Wilson would’ve been a safe pick. Had some decent seasons and played for both Texas and the Halos
They even brought up Percival and no one thought of K-Rod 🤦
K-rod not getting picked was a crime.
My team:
Seattle 2010 Felix Hernandez 232 (picked)
Angels 2022 Shohei Otani 219 (picked)
Oakland 2004 Barry Zito 163
Astros 2019 Justin Verlander 300 (picked)
Rangers 2011 Derek Holland 162
Angels 2007 K Rod 90
Rangers 2011 Neftali Felix 54
Astros 2005 Brad Lidge 157
Total: 1377
Obviously without having other opponents I could get what I wanted, but I really thought Zito and Holland had more. Was going to go with Mulder for the A's but couldn't pick a good year. Surprisingly his best was only 159 anyway. My only other pick for Rangers was Cliff Lee, but I couldn't remember if he was there for a full season (he was not).

You can only pick Astros players past 2012 when they were in the AL West.
No one with the dude literally named K-Rod is hilarious
So many A's that got missed, plus K-rod
I was just saying “it’s been a while since the last strikeout draft”
Surprised no one took Randy Johnson 1995 with the Mariners.
My favorite one is Mike Minor in 2019 or Lance lynn in 2019
Respect to jolly for going Matt shoemaker 💀
Jolly *laughs at 198 pick*
Jolly picks: 176 s/o for 1st pick....
Know ball Jolly
weaver led the league in strike outs in 2010 with 233 one more than king felix I knew that was the year to take for Angels. K-rod had 123 in 2004
what does Dalton think the word "merchant" means? 😂
How did Gerrit Cole 2019 not go straight away
No K Rod or 2018 Blake treinen is wild
Screaming Randy⬇️
I was expecting felíz 2010 tbh
2019 Astros legend Josh James had 119 Ks
How was there no mention of mark mulder, Tim Hudson, or Barry Zito for the As? This feels borderline blasphemous
Zito is a top pick, hudson is an ok pic, and mulder should not have been picked
@@cthefro agreed, but it’s just blowing my mind that none of them were even mentioned. No thought whatsoever
Gotta have Dan back as a regular
K-Rod, it’s in the name. Angst.
To be fair I am terrible with starter Ks so this would’ve been poor for me.
Nolan Ryan 1973 Angels 383 k's Randy Johnson 2001 Dbacks 372 k's
This is post-2000, and the Dbacks are famously not in the AL West
How do you name 2018 Edwin Diaz without remembering 2018 Blake Treinen
Mulder, hudson early 2’s for the A’s? Or am I tripping?
Was this 1990’s forward? Why wouldn’t anyone go with Nolan Ryan in ‘73
Cj Wilson and K Rod .
How in the world did nobody guess K-Rod????
I guess they forget 2019 lance lynn was dominant
My wild pull woulda been 2018 or 2023 Heaney
NGL this was quite a weak draft. No Rangers Cliff Lee? No 2001 Mariners Freddy Garcia? Massive L
Cliff Lee was only a Ranger for half a season, so that wouldn't have gone well.
No Sizable Seductive 😔
He had like no Ks with the As and Angels tho
@@Karmy. pretty sure he had like 230 something in 2012
Nope my bad it was ERA not Ks 😂😂
Can they not pick players before 2000? Cuz Nolan Ryan definitely had multiple 300k seasons for the Angels
Yea - similar to the divisional HR drafts, this is all post-2000
NO GARRET RICHARDS, SCOTT SHIELDS OR K-ROD my heart 😭😭😭😭
no Barry Zito either oh lordy
Jr richards 1980
no 21 raisel??
No KRod is shocking
Who can draft a pitching staff with the most distance given up in home runs. Not even sure how to research this.
Nobody picked matt brash 2023 😢
Bold and Brash
Nolan ryan I think 73
And we made it about seven minutes with Dalton. Good for me, really.
Just checking in on Dan Rourke to see if he's OK. Not cursing much at all. Used to Rourke's potty mouth.
How can jolly call himself a Mets fan and forget about krod
Abysmal performance across the board
Bryan abreu 2023
The AL West was TOUGH
King Felix shoulda been first round
Definitely not by strikeouts alone but the gap between him and 2nd for the mariners could justify it.
201 Zito had more Ks than Montas
*2001 Zito
