I never forget Derrek Lee. I watched him hit a double off the wall in center field on a 40 degree that sounded like it might have left an impact crater on the brick
this is the only time I would have actually won a TB draft because I grew up an Astros fan. early 2000s NL central merchant with a full lineup of picks no one made in the video
MY LINEUP C 2008 Ryan Doumit - 216 1B 2022 Paul Goldschmidt - 324 2B 2010 Rickie Weeks - 302 3B 2006 Aramis Ramirez - 333 SS 2004 Jack Wilson 299 OF 2001 Lance Berkman - 358 OF 2000 Richard Hidalgo - 355 OF 2021 Nick Castellanos - 306 DH 2000 Jeff Bagwell -363 TOTAL 2856 1st place
So, the thing with the NL East SS position is there is one year where Nomar Garciapara is healthy on the Cubs. In 2006 he had 142 hits with 31 doubles and 20 homers. It’s not earth shattering but as a Sox fan I always hope someone goes for this year because it’s a fun pick and everyone forgets about his one good year on the cubs.
Since they didn’t name a single Astro, here’s the all Astros team that would’ve almost beat them: C - 2000 Mitch Meluskey - 164 1B - 2000 Jeff Bagwell - 363 2B - 2004 Jeff Kent - 287 SS - 2009 Miguel Tejada - 289 3B - 2005 Morgan Ensberg - 293 OF - 2001 Lance Berkman - 358 OF - 2000 Richard Hidalgo - 355 OF - 2007 Carlos Lee - 331 DH - 2004 Craig Biggio - 297 Total - 2737
The first best 1st base season was Albert Pujols in 2004. I guess I just got so used to him being so good that I forgot exactly how good he was. He had a 1 dot OPS in 8 of his first 10 seasons.
Everyone forgets the Killer B Astros were part of the central...Berkman, Bagwell, Biggio (plus Jeff Kent) left on the board. Plus people forget Scott Rolen and Edmonds for the Cardinals had banger years in there too
The three of you guys are always so great to watch when you’re together. You all have good chemistry and it’s like you’re just watching friends name random players
Had an idea for a new series potentially. You spin a wheel full of random stats (HRs, RBIs, Ks, etc), spin a wheel of random numbers, and then spin a wheel of divisions. For example say the wheels land on HRs, 36, and NL West. The contestants would have to write a player and season that they think is closest to that number (e.g. Bellinger 2017). The amount you are off by is the amount of points you get (Bellinger had 39 so 3 off), and the lowest amount of points wins. Could do like 7/8 rounds and could be a fun shorter video. Could maybe add a bonus for getting the number bang on like having 5/10 points removed from your score. Edit: Could have a wheel that picks the year or a range of years to avoid recency bias and everyone choosing players from the last 3/4 years.
Jason Kendall 2000 would have been a great pick. 272, only 5 below the best possible catcher season. Kendall had an interesting career, contact hitting catcher that was a pretty good all-around hitter early in his career and then for some reason completely stopped hitting for power.
I did this with a previous NL Central draft so I want to try my luck again. I’m a huge Cubs fan so I’m going to bet I can beat whatever team wins with just a team of Cubs. I haven’t watched the video yet, this is all just prior knowledge: C: Geovany Soto 2008 (249) 1B: Derrek Lee 2005 (393) 2B: Javier Baez 2018 (336) SS: Starlin Castro 2011 (291) 3B: Kris Bryant 2016 (334) LF: Moises Alou 2004 (335) CF: Corey Patterson 2004 (285) RF: Sammy Sosa 2001 (425) DH: Aramis Ramirez 2005 (333) That comes out to 2,981 Total Bases. I’ll update this after I see the video and see how I did! Update: just finished the video. Idk whether to be proud in my knowledge or disappointed in their performance😂
Idk how fun of an idea or if it would work, but how about an all pitchers draft of career HRs or hits in a division? (Minus Ohtani because MAN THAT WOULD SKEW THE GAME) Also maybe difficult to make a game out of this since the universal DH was implemented
I remember back in the day when they remembered to draft Astros players for the NL central. It’s fine if they just make it against the rules but at least mention it before the video.
I love how much fun these guys have during the drafts lol
Ryan told dalt to worry about 3rd place and he took that personally 😂
Jolly’s hair is phenomenal
Phenomenally bad
I literally said "Jolly love the hair today" then the comments loaded and I saw yours.
@@ObamaBeenBoolinhe is a national treasure you leave him alone 😂😂
My first thought as well
He has nice hair but how it looks in the intro is not it
Everyone always forgets 2005 Derrek Lee
I’ve played and edited the rosters so much on MVP baseball 2005, that whenever they forget him it pains me😂
Had 100 XBH
393 total bases!
I never forget Derrek Lee. I watched him hit a double off the wall in center field on a 40 degree that sounded like it might have left an impact crater on the brick
yet it was Albert’s first MVP year, same division and position as Lee.
The real best possible lineup:

@@MisterTealWasn’t Holliday in Colorado that year?
@@jessestewart947 Correct, Holliday became a Cardinal in 2009
@@jessestewart947 oops yes you’re correct
Commenting before watching but '05 Derrek Lee better be picked or I'm rioting
When and where are we meeting
Lemme join you, where we starting?
Bagwell and Berkman both had better seasons since 2000 than Prince Fielder. Best possible lineup didn’t include those Astros.
Also 2000 Richard Hidalgo, the most anonymous great season in history
Be a shame to forget the Astros fellas
2000 Richard Hidalgo would have been a nasty pick with 355 TB.
Their anti-astros bias kills them every time
Yall forgot the Astros, berkman 2001 would’ve won the game for jolly at the end
this is the only time I would have actually won a TB draft because I grew up an Astros fan. early 2000s NL central merchant with a full lineup of picks no one made in the video
I was screaming for Derrek from the rooftops!
2010 Rickie Weeks will never be forgotten as long as im here
time to do my laundry
Dude same. Folding towels while I watch, which is my normal routine for these haha
No one picking 05 Derek Lee is very sad
People forget about 2008 Nate McLouth

mooooom the boys are fighting againnnnn
5 first basemen picked and not one of them being 05 Derrek Lee is crazy

Bellinger had 47 homers in 2019 so it’s be 11 off. You’re thinking of his rookie year 2017 when he had 39

the most slept on man for 3rd is 05 morgan ensberg. 293 TB for 3rd
05 Derrek Lee had almost 400 TB
Shelfy is a vibe but this is absolutely the best trio 😂😂😂
"The beard is back" is a bit of a stretch, don't you think?
Lance Berkman 358 2001 for the win at the end
Lance Berkman 2001 should be on the best possible lineup
Oooh jolly with the fresh cut???
23:05 He could’ve won it with Lance Berkman 01 (358 TB)
Should definitely do one on least amount of steals(minimum of 1)
Still think you need to do a NL pitchers total base draft
2000 Richard Hidalgo 355TB
I would've thought Griffey's first year in Cincinnati would've been a good one but he only had 289 (his high with the Reds)
Jim Edmonds, Berkman
I haven’t finished the video, but obligatory ‘Yadi had 254 total bases in 2012’ post here. Go Cards
Dalton looks like he just got off a shift at Best Buy.
I’m at 19:11 in the video and I’m screaming Matt carpenter on my phone
Was hoping for a 2013 Matt carpenter
Cannot believe 200 is Willson’s career high. What a stat
You guys gotta switch up the eras. Do the 80s and 90s if possible. It would be fun even if the results are bad.
I remember back in the day when they remembered to draft Astros players for the NL central. It’s fine if they just make it against the rules but at least mention it before the video.
Not using the Astros this time? 2000 Bagwell and 2001 Berkman both were better than Fielder
People forget about 2014 Devin Mesoraco
13:37 daulton saying this although he picked Elly 😭
Berkman, Edmonds or rolen?
I like when Dalton has a goatee
Wild pitches draft? I'll take randy johnson
Were the early Astros not allowed?
Don't know if Astros were eligible but 2001 Lance Berkman would've got it done for Jolly I think
They always have been before
I'm here for Dalton's 50/50 success!
The padres loss broke Ryan 💔
No lance berkman is insane
Best possible lineup has to include 2007 Matt Holiday. 386 TB
The Rockies have never been in the NL Central
@ oops lol
And I went Richie sexton for fun!!
😂😂😂
SO PROUD DALTON GOT A 50/50 RIGHT!!!!
The fact that Richie Sexson could have gone by Dick Sexson and didn't will always disappoint me.
Rickie Weeks
Scooter Gennet 2018 snub😢
No pirates in the best possible lineup?
Screaming Derrek Lee
Jolly, save some hair for the rest of us
Jolly sold hard jeez
Jolly love the fuckin look
