I believe the song was written (not by Martina) about a true story. Martina was played the song and she had lost a niece or cousin because of abuse. The little boy in this telling of the story was indeed her guardian angel. people, people, people, no matter what happens in your life, it is not your child's fault. When the world frustrates you or knocks you around, find some comfort in your kids. Hug them. Don't hit or hurt them.
Right there at 4:08 the little boy sitting in the window looks up at the sky for a brief second and you can almost hear him thinking "Father, must she endure this?"
Concrete Angel" is a song written by Stephanie Bentley and Rob Crosby, and recorded by American country music artist Martina McBride. It was released in November 2002 as the fourth and last single from McBride's Greatest Hits compilation album. The song reached number 5 on the country music charts.[2] "Concrete Angel" was ranked No. 1 by Rolling Stone on its list of the 40 Saddest Country Songs of All Time in 2019.
Cool thing I read today, a young man spent weeks going to school in the same clothes every day. He was going through a growth spurt and his mom couldn’t afford new clothes, A couple of the football players brought him shirts, shoes, and pants
The teacher if she suspected anything she should have called the police or something cuz I worked at a daycare and we or what they call mandated reporters and had to call the police or CPS cause we thought something was going on with some of the kids
This is so very sad. Awareness of child abuse needs to be brought to the front. These children do not deserve this. The people that do this will be held accountable in the Final Judgement. God always wins. Love your reaction. God Bless you both!
I was an abused child and I am still traaumatized. Watching this has me with tears falling. I was beaten until the blood ran down my back. It happened a lot. No one noticed until I had to change to play ball. Changing in the locker room and one girl told the teacher. When they called the cops and my Dad,they tried to take me away from my parents. I ran to my dad and held on so tight. He was the one good thing in my life. It was my mother who beat me up all the time. I'm sorry,I didnt mean to go on so. This always triggers me,damn it.
The writer of the song was the sister of the girl who died. She was 4 and her sister was 11 and her mom took every thing out on her. And so she wrote a song about it.
Contrary to the Urban Legends, Martina has confirmed that this is NOT based on a true story and is NOT about her niece. Someone posed this after the video was released and it simply took off. The meaning is strong, but it is not true.
One of the saddest parts if you think about it: the only friend she had was dead. The other children avoided her because 1 she probably was dirty and smelled from neglect 2 she didn't have many clothes so she was seen as poor 3 she was always talking to someone no one else could see so she was probably seen as weird at best or crazy at worst
Please check out Alyssa Lies it is based on a true story by Jason Michael Carroll. I am unemployed at the moment and have no money to send. But God bless you and yours 🙏💗
Although this is just a music video, we know this happens every day in the world many times over. Your supposed god is all-seeing and all-powerful. So instead of stopping it he watches and deliberately lets it happen. Such as god isn't worthy of anything but our disgust and loathing, and so is anyone that excuses their god not intervening.
Not based on a true story but there was a child actress who was murdered by her father in the 80's. Judith Barsi, she was the voice of the little girl in "All Dogs go to Heaven" and Ducky in "The Land Before Time" Fans found where she was buried and engraved on her gravestone "Our concrete angel." Very sad story. Y'all keep up the good work. These are great.
Its been my understanding it was based on a true story of a family member of Martina's but I can't confirm that. Maybe someone else here knows the facts. On another note this is why I support capital punishment. I think there are people on this earth that deserves to jump on the express lane to meet God. Just my opinion though
I hear that but I dont know if is true, they are a lot of story that are not real, but the problem is real, there is boys a girl that are abuse by their parents, grandparents, or other families
It's her niece's she got abused by her mum but she died from it and she didn't know what her sister was doing to her niece. She sang this song for her niece's and for people to ring if they see children getting abused to help them.
True story I looked it up Martina McBride wrote the song about her niece that was physically abused and died from it when she was seven I do believe or six I don't remember exactly

I cried when she said when morning comes it will be to late
Right there at 4:08 the little boy sitting in the window looks up at the sky for a brief second and you can almost hear him thinking "Father, must she endure this?"
I have been a mortician for years and this sadly happens way more than anyone knows. Tears my heart out every single time.
To me the saddest lyric is" Sometimes she wishes she was never born"😢No child should ever have to feel that😭
Absolutely. I was that kid and it's taken years of therapy to survive.
I wished I had never been born from about 8 to 28 it's not a good feeling
@kellyhunt1166 so sorry you had to feel and go through that, please pray and find the Lord( you'll never be alone, no matter where you are)🙏😘
@@deborahlewis656I am a believer in Jesus and a proud Christian and I am starting to try leaning more on him but it's a huge work in progress
Yes that's sad
He was her guardian Angel. To take her a place where she is loved
A guardian angel that didn't or couldn't stop it isn't worth anything.
Yall are correct. He is an angel 😇. 😢😢😢
This song is about Martina McBride's niece who her sister killed
wow even sadder
Crazy that's sad

At the end she went on to paradise to be free with all the other kids that had been abused
Yes he was an angel looking out for her!
Cool thing I read today, a young man spent weeks going to school in the same clothes every day. He was going through a growth spurt and his mom couldn’t afford new clothes, A couple of the football players brought him shirts, shoes, and pants
Yes it's true
God's Will!!!!
Another tear jerker! That was a great era in Country music. Now it’s all bro-country!
This song honestly reminds me of what I went through, now as a dad I would never ever treat my daughter that way.
The teacher if she suspected anything she should have called the police or something cuz I worked at a daycare and we or what they call mandated reporters and had to call the police or CPS cause we thought something was going on with some of the kids
When this was released, I think that the mandated reporter legislation hadn't been passed in most parts of the USA
@spectrelead I was a teacher aide in the 1990s that was around in Pennsylvania back then cause we had to get help for some of the kids I worked with
Yes the little boy was an angel.
Is important because raise awareness on child abuse and if we suspect someone is abusing of a child we should do something, the teacher, the neighbors
Another really good one is 'Alyssa Lies' by Jason Michael Carroll. Such a heartbreaker
Great song
Just don't watch the two back to back unless you want to cry
True story that effected her
So glad I've found your channel. It's refreshing to see fellow Christians sharing their faith!
I love how she chooses to 'Amen' while he's mentioning the cash options....
Oh let me make one more recommendation. If you like Martina McBride concrete Angel, you should also look her up singing "love's the only house"
It is based on a true story about her niece.
Independence day is another good one of hers
Teachers are mandated by state to report it
Do "where would you be" also by martina mcbride
That's one of my favorite song.
Her voice is just WOW
Tough one....Martina used her platform to bring up issues no one wanted to talk about. "Broken Wing" yet another good one.
Yes True story
Praise to Jesus first and foremost! Love yall
If y'all haven't, you should check out '800 Pound Jesus' by Sawyer Brown
There’s a lot of people that grow up with abuse. I grew up being abused
This is so very sad. Awareness of child abuse needs to be brought to the front. These children do not deserve this. The people that do this will be held accountable in the Final Judgement. God always wins. Love your reaction. God Bless you both!
This song gets to me every time.😢
This is a true story Martina's sister did this

Now you need to react to “God’s Will. Beautiful song!

Not true
Love this song and I'd love to see u all react to David Phelps end of the beginning great power song that I this u all will enjoy
😮please listen to John Michael Montgomery " the Little Girl" as another testimony of Jesus Christ.
Just curious are y’all reuploading all the older reactions of great songs that didn’t get many views? Good idea if so
I have never understood how anybody could hurt a kid.
Contrary to the Urban Legends, Martina has confirmed that this is NOT based on a true story and is NOT about her niece. Someone posed this after the video was released and it simply took off. The meaning is strong, but it is not true.
This is based on Martina Mcbride’s real life in that she lost her niece due to child abuse
I always imagined the little boy as Jesus. (Perhaps from watching a lot of Touched By An Angel).
I want 1 min with any who hurts any baby. Its a personal story for her the headstone is her neice
One of the saddest parts if you think about it: the only friend she had was dead. The other children avoided her because
1 she probably was dirty and smelled from neglect
2 she didn't have many clothes so she was seen as poor
3 she was always talking to someone no one else could see so she was probably seen as weird at best or crazy at worst
Would love to see your alls reaction to the song called "Take me out to the ballgame" by Luke Combs. Love you both and God bless you and your family!!
It's based on Martina's sister killing her daughter. The name on the stone was her niece.😢
God's Will is another by Martina that needs to be checked out
Way to break into the heart of the song to plug how to donate and get a song played. Done watching you guys.
You are slow and he is an angel
Please check out Alyssa Lies it is based on a true story by Jason Michael Carroll. I am unemployed at the moment and have no money to send. But God bless you and yours 🙏💗
It happens too often
Countless parents abusing/killing their kids.
Just accept the sentiment
The tracking on this video is messed up, your voices are not lining up with your talking.
Video turned into old kung fu movie.

For some reason there's a delay on your sound
2 of the fakest ppl online but still a good rteaction, most don't even figure out he is an angel
True story? Yes way too often.

Unfortunately, in a lot of cases it's generally. Thats what happened to them, so they think that's the way it's should be
Guys - pimp your channel before or after the song! NOT during! Jeez - how tacky
i agree!
Yes look at the name her sister did kill he daughter
True story I looked it up Martina McBride wrote the song about her niece that was physically abused and died from it when she was seven I do believe or six I don't remember exactly
Misinformation. Please stop spreading this rumor.
No he's not an angel he's a little boy who died of abuse like her and the other kids in the video
