Tidradio TD-H3 for a beater .... I bought 2 ea for kicking around when I dont want to use my Yaesu and it test clean and gives me 5 watts on 2 meters & 70 cm . Good beater radio came with two batteries
I actually did buy a uv5r clone a month ago, the M-5R. Yes, it is limited, but it currently is 17 bucks with airband and a clean 3 band tx.
That said, I would recommend the Quansheng or recent TIDRADIO ht's over any Baofeng.
I think those use completely different boards
@@hamradiohack I can say that CHIRP sees the M5R as different from UV5R.
We have UV-K5, UV-K5(6), RA79 running Kamilsss NuNu cfw. Great little radios, especially the RA79 at only $17.99
We have many UV-5R 8W that are great for daily use.
