- This is a bonus video, as I was just hired to shoot the gypsy wedding photos. I've had to add different music, but hope you still like it! I shot it on my Samsung S21 phone though, rather than on our professional video camera. Its just a few snippets rather than the whole day, and all the dances, as I had to focus on taking mainly the photos on this occasion. The amazing cake was by Clara at www.cakediamond...
Everyone got ready at Crowne Plaza in Leeds, then after their church wedding ceremony (not shown here ) they went to Cedar Court Hotel in Bradford for the wedding reception. They were all very well behaved - at least up to the point that I left anyway!

We occasionally get traveller weddings in Gretna Green, but we also shot two "English' weddings in Scotland this year; one couple travelling all the way from Devon for their wedding. Sadly neither of them wanted their weddings made public though.

@@ReelLifePhotos I dream to travel to Scotland someday, I live in the mountains of eastern Kentucky but my bloodline goes back to having family in Scotland and Ireland as well. I was even told by my grandmother we had Gypsies as well in our family from Ireland and Scotland 💗

One of the most beautiful and tasteful traveller weddings I have ever seen, the little girls dresses were gorgeous and the brides dress exquisite. Nice to see ‘normal’ dancing and not the gyrating stuff at Gypsy weddings where everyone dances the same. The older I get, the more I enjoy a bit of sparkle in life.

Wow!! In all honesty the most beautiful gypsy wedding ever🥰❤️ She looked like a real royal Princess in that stunning dress. Everything about her just oozed class and sophistication. Hats off also to the dress designer, cake maker, florist, hair & makeup, videographer, and all the beautifully dressed guests that made this one very special wedding. Exactly Jennifer. I don't think anyone ever sets put to have a bad time or for it to end in fighting. It's just the way the men can be though, after they have spent all evening drinking, and possibly part of the day too! Traveller weddings are always so much more fun for the girls!

I'm in my 50s and have been to my fair share of wedding, my kids included, but this is the most beautiful. I think it's so tastefully designed. Love to them.

This was the most stunning Traveller wedding I've ever seen! The bride was absolutely gorgeous! The dresses, the makeup, hair...everything was so perfect. The videographer was suburb as well. Beautiful!
Wow! Thanks for the compliments all round! I was actually their wedding photographer, but couldn't resist also shooting this for them! Everyone worked hard to make it a success. @@ReelLifePhotos you did an amazing job, they will always treasure the photos and video that you did ! If I was to marry again I would definitely ask you to be our photographer. My wedding photos were awful, all the photos were either not centred or taking random photos , I try not to look at them very often. The guy charged us £600 which my parents paid , we were all upset, it was 1995 I have seen wedding photos from the 1920’s look better! My mum made the mistake of paying the full amount before the wedding! Xx
@@Hayley0412 Oh how sad! I feel really sorry for you! Photos and videos are the only things you have left after the vows have been said, the food eaten, and the party is over, to help prop up those wonderful memories, and to even show you things you didn't spot in the whole whirlwind of a day! £600 in 1995 would have represented the top of the range so you should have been able to expect excellent work from an experienced wedding photographer/ videographer! I never take everything all up front, for that very reason as prefer to base my work on mutual trust. Some people do let me down of course, which is why most wedding photographers nowadays do insist of the full payment before the wedding, as they know what huuman nature is like.. Well if you have any children, let's hope that they listen to you and at least read all the online reviews first, which of course were not so readily available when you got married! This CANNOT be a Gypsy wedding! The brides dress is beautiful. The bridesmaids dresses are beautiful. The cake is beautiful. The venue is gorgeous. No one is fighting or dropping F-bombs. I’m so confused.
Ha ha! It sure was so no mistake! I can only show you what I saw of course. Drink causes most of the fighting issues, as the men sit round the bar all evening and when I left around 9.30 pm, having been there working since 10.30 am, the party was still in full swing.
That's not racist or anything.
Look at how extremely young the bride and groom are, and how much (hideous!) makeup all the girls have painted on---it's a gypsy/traveler wedding!

It's also great to know that you have seen it in the Lake District, so just 2 and a half hours drive away from Bradford, and one of my favourite areas of this country. Okay! This is THE BEST so far. So tasteful! So elegant! Nearly everyone got the hairdo memo. Nearly everyone's fully dressed. None of the female guests trying to out do the bride. The bride's gown is heavenly! The venue is beautifully decorated. The CAKE! The cake is out of this world huge! Just glorious! You did a FABULOUS job filming! I can't wait to see more.

The bride's mother took a lot of pride in her daughter's wedding, - as did her father - so all the little touches added up to show what a loving family they are. @@ReelLifePhotos I’m also going to complement you- if you did the photography- it’s mesmerizing. The way it visually floats around just as your eyes would if you were a butterfly and then lands on something like the sparkly heart shaped buckle of a shoe. It also shows the lightheartedness between siblings as they are getting ready where you would normally think it would be stressful you show the process lovely and relaxing bouncing the balloons around as though the day was a dream. The colors, the dresses lines up on the rack, the girls blinking and looking up at the camera with their shining faces- everything was just what a wedding video should be- personal, soft, memorable- I wish I had someone do that for my wedding. What a lovely reminder for this wonderful event.❤️

I was their photographer too, so had two cameras round my neck, one set for video and the other with a flash fir photos, so yes, my eyes were darting everywhere, trying to capture the little actions, expressions and where relevant, the sounds too.

And yes, that cake was out of this world: the tallest wedding cake I personally have ever seen! And it didn't fall over either, unlike one traveller wedding cake I photographed, that was leaning from the word go! It was exquisitely decorated too; a true work of art!

Yes, they made excellent choices didn't they! Actually, most traveller homes that I have been into, are also not only super clean, but all very stylishly decorated to their tastes, so it's not really that surprising that they put on a grand display when their daughter gets married.

I'd be interested to know how the tradition of these huge weddings started. Tremendous amount of work and the buttons down the back of the bride's dress was very Victorian. Her hair and tiara reminds me of portraits of both Queen Victoria and Empress Eugenie of France.
Hi @M Scott I gather you have never seen a Muslim wedding then, as small one is 300+ guests but many have over 1000. The very first Pakistani wedding I photographed in 2003 was a 4 day affair with over 2000 guests on the final day of celebrations, so the numbers you see in this traveller wedding are now
pretty standard in my experience.
Likewise the little buttons. I see many dresses like that, though some cheat and have a zip underneath so although they appear to have little buttons on top they are not always functional. I see them at many weddings though, so the dress designer usually supplies them with a crochet hook, but in this case I, myself had to do up the last few awkward buttons around the waist, as was the only one without false nails. Another popular wedding dress fastening is the cross over laces, and that also requires patience and extra time to do it up.
Yes loads of work, but I see huge weddings most weeks myself, as I video or photograph many different cultures, but don't know how far back this tradition goes beyond the 21 years I have been shooting weddings. xx

I love this "real life" photography. Interesting to scroll through the comments about how people perceive this as a "tasteful" wedding...that is probably because it is more "mainstream" (whatever that means nowadays!)
Good point @Minh Sen! It's the same with food or anything else I guess that the more a style or way of living, approximates to your own experiences, the more you feel at home with what you see. There are, however, many adventurous people who love to see things that are outside their experiences to date too of course. I guess I fall into that category as actively seek to capture weddings and cultures that are different from my own. I had to check twice to make sure, it said Travelers wedding.This wedding was the total opposite of the others I watched before. Very decent looking .the bride (gosh ,she looks stunning ), the guests ,the venue.The dresses from the bridesmaid and from the little ones are so cute. In all it looks like a regular wedding. Nothing to provoke ,.especially the dancers ,or over the top .I loved everything

One of the best l have seen everyone acting behaved. The bridal party and the groom’s looked stunning. Not over top just exquisite every detail managed to perfection. I’ve never see such an amazing wedding. All the females are so beautiful.

When I first posted this, about three years ago, it was watched by around 200,000 people in the very first month, if I remember correctly. The cake, alone, took your breath away! I was also taking photos, so couldn't capture absolutely everything, but maybe that's what's made it so popular..?

I come from a very large line of travelers, this is absolutely beautiful the “American travelers” on tv is so fake and set up it’s disappointing but this bride is amazingly stunning
Wow! That's super special to hear! I will have to watch some US traveller wedding videos to see the difference. I agree though that everyone was so well behaved, it was a pleasure to see. I was actually their photographer but shot this on my phone so they could have something to see quickly.

I don't think I have watched any American traveller shows, but I guess a lot of TV documentaries really come under the classification of shows, so are designed to shock or to entertain. I just shoot what I see, so 100% genuine real life reality! It goes without saying that the bride looked super gorgeous, and was a delight to photograph too. Exactly. Tv showed are focused on negative stereotypes to drive ratings, then people say they know the difference between "real" and "fake" when they've never seen the real thing.

For the 1st time this is a beautiful way to represent Gypsy community nitty I am just a fanatic of this wedding A lot of the gypsy weddings that I've seen don't do Justice to the old gypsy way it's just very surprising to me how a lot of them are still very unculture in their own culture

My hair has never been fixed as beautifully as for these girls. Been to many hair stylus in my 70 years and none were as good or made me as pretty as I’ve seen on these gypsy girls…they are just stunning

Asian (Pakistani) hairdressers are very skilled at creating this kind of look, but it depends where you live if you want to find one of these clever ladies to style your hair for a special occasion. Instagram is a good place to start looking for one though, if you are interested?
This was a beautiful video and I agree the nicest wedding-no fighting, cursing, youngsters wellbehaved. Just beautiful, and the groom and bride look age appropriate. That cost a small fortune but all worth it.🥰🥰🥰

Oh good. I'm glad you appreciated the quietness, though of course, like any wedding, the noise of chatting was heard above the music, but as actuality sound throughout would have been mismatched, the music has been been added during the editing to make it flow better. Everyone was peaceful up until the time I left at least, 11 hours after I started working, so yes, all good!
