Excellent presentation and so insightful in easy terms! It gives such a perceptual viewpoint for those that can't see why things are happening within themselves.

Amazing how the true cause and nature of major depression is so widely and dangerously unknown and isn't revealed here either.

And he's also incorrect, most anti depressants which teach depression and anxiety do not replace anything. They don't add more of any type of neurotransmitter in your brain. That's NOT what they are. Most anti depressants are re uptake inhibitors, this means you serotonin levels for example remain the same, the only difference is that it stays in your synapse for longer, allowing more opportunities for it trigger a fire.

Just make sure to do your research. Yes, pharmacotherapy (medicine) is not for everyone. I personally think there is a lot of benefit to holistic treatment. However, it has been scientifically proven that in mood disorders, such as depression, hippocampal volume in the brain is decreased (irregular). Anti-depressants help to stop this reduction in volume and some research is even indicating that medication can reverse these effects. Yes, pharmacotherapy is a business that many professionals lean on for business purposes, and I do not know this speaker personally, but there can be some benefit to being properly medicated.

His ideas are very dangerous, only severe cases NEED medication. I have health anxiety and it's better for me to cope with it then to take medication. My health anxiety can be severe and when it does get sever I go on medication but the only time it gets severe is if my physical health is deteroriating ex. I get an infection, or my vitals aren't within the normal ranges etc.
When my health is stable I still have health anxiety, I still worry about my health, I'm always worrying about it. But it doesn't affect me, I can still thrive and life a happy life without medication and in fact for somebody with health anxiety like me, taking a medication only makes my health anxiety worse, one because medication doesn't do a lot for non severe cases but also because anytime medication can damage your liver, you can develop a tolerance and a dependence on it. If I am able to cope very well without it, I'd rather not have it.
