Shane worked a regular job for over 13 years & did all of the things he was told he was supposed to do. After buying a house at a young age, he realized that he still didn't know himself or what he really wanted out of life. He decided to give nomadic life a try, and four years later, his adventure has yet to come to an end. His skoolie features a fixed bed, gorgeous kitchen with a pullout stove, a shower, and a couch. Shane has not only converted his own skoolie, but now helps complete vehicle conversions across the country for anyone who is in need of help.

I’m still livin in the bus!
I decided not to sell it until the fall.
But will definitely be building out other rigs in the near future.
It was heart warming to see my Millie girl again. This tour was filmed about 3 weeks before her passing. We had 15 amazing years together, 4 of them on the road. It’s been a journey.

So sorry to hear about your dog. One of my cats died a week ago.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Our 14 yr old Rhodesian Ridgeback is getting close to crossing the rainbow Bridge. And it's been really hard saying goodbye.
My heartfelt sympathy for your loss of Millie. It's a year since I lost my 14yo Mysti, and I still miss her every day. They definitely leave footprints on our hearts.
This is one of the simplest, most beautiful skoolies I've ever seen. Everything is well thought out and beautifully executed, right down to the no-hardware doors and that wonderful shower. The abundance of light and air is amazing, as is that king size bed! The only thing I missed was a toilet...
I also love your philosophy of using Earth friendly materials as well as your attitude toward the nomad life and figuring out what's best...so inclusive and instructive at the same time! Best wishes to you in your travels and in your life!

So very sorry for your loss of your precious girl. I know that losing a fur baby is one of the hardest things in life. They are perfect and pure, and that loss cuts deep. But luckily their memories stay with us forever. Sending you lots of healing thoughts!
You're the only person who mentioned the EMF shield to protect the sleeping area. I wish more people would consider protecting their bodies from EMFs during sleep when the body is trying to repair itself. I even keep my cell phone in a SafeSleeve cover to mitigate the exposure. Love the bus and the natural light! I have to live vicariously through everyone out on the road. I just built on 20 acres so I'm definitely staying put :)
Totally agree with you,never heard anyone express about EMF.😅
A chain from frame to the ground would help shunt EMF at least take an initial surge that occurs.

Love the design and especially the shower and the pull out range. With the empty space in the front, I would put in a toilet of some kind and you can build around it to make it into a second seat or maybe even a standing desk for a work area. What are your thoughts, @DogWoodAdventures, about the incinerating toilets vs a self built compost toilet?
I personally don’t like or use composting toilets. They’re gross. Carrying around 15 lbs of poop just doesn’t make sense to me. I’ve been on the road for 4 years and know my body pretty well. I have a consistent diet. So finding a place or going into nature is just kind of a natural thing in my life now. I’ve had some horror stories of course in that department, but for the most part it’s pretty easy once you have a routine down. But I am young so I’m sure an elderly person would not want to dig a hole and bury their poop. So yeah I would suggest a black water tank in that case with an rv toilet that flushes. My rig is very simplified and someone older would need alot more amenities than my bus has for sure.

This is definitely one of my favorite short bus builds I've seen! I love everything from the natural light, non toxic materials, shower and the roll out stove....brilliant! Very cool you build for other people as well, you're very talented! Happy adventures!

Many people who live in vans are in it for life and it's my observation that there is a 'nomad community' at large made up of all kinds of builds. I prefer to think of it the way I think of Earth. Instead of lots of different countries, it's just a big world full of lots of different people all living together in different ways, hopefully in harmony.

I love the use of glass in the shower walls. Personally, I’d put a passenger seat in that empty space; maybe a dinette with at least one (forward or rear facing) seatbelt. I wouldn’t want to not have safe seating for another person, even traveling alone.

I love the design! One question tho? How do you sleep with the chemicals stored right under your mattress?
I close my eyes and go to sleep. Those are not “chemicals” that’s what we call a gas can, it’s for my generator. I do this really crazy thing and store it outside when I camp (i know I’m crazy) and the other “chemicals” 2 jugs of oil. Because the bus needs oil. And so does the generator. I also do that crazy thing I do with the generator and gas can also and store it outside when I camp. Crazy stuff. Anymore questions lemme know
