Not just for business. I’m seeing more and more families using this style of bike for transporting kids too. Awesome video Gav and yes, more bike lanes please.
Thanks for the great video. I love your enthusiasm! I bike those same streets and really wish we could have some bike lanes. Cornwall park is beautiful.
Another great video, but being more of a carologist than a pushbikeologist, I'm missing the car reviews. I guess there isn't anything new to review lately. I'd love to see a review of the secondhand BYD E6 - a great alternative to the Nissan Leaf with a huge LFP battery and range. I can hook you up with the importer if you're interested in a trip to the Mainland?
I got you covered! The next few weeks' reviews will be wall-to-wall cars, in all shapes, sizes and budgets. Next week's video is going to be a long-awaited one! -Gav
Hi. Hello from France, I'm quite surprised you have moustache bikes in New Zealand! (I've been lucky enough to visit NZ 10 years ago, so I see you're still not using the right side of the road there.) Still, you review was nice, but now I'm in troubles because I want that cargo with CVT belt system.
Wow Gav, that's nearly twice the price of a Honda 250cc motorbike. So maybe it can carry a bit more cargo and it's electric but I've seen smaller motorbikes hauling around a trailer with a couple of adult passengers in Asia. That's a seriously expensive eBike.
The Not Just Bikes channel has excellent episodes on how a civilised country gives priority to bikes and people over cars. Unfortunately Aotearoa mostly copied and still copies an uncivilised country for our city designs.
I don’t know NZ was so bad for bike riders… but I come from the UK gold standard for bike and walking which is Milton Keynes… you can ride or walk from one part of the city to another without a need to share the red routes with any cars or cross any roads
While the path I chose was a bit wild, I should be fair and say that Auckland does have a reasonable selection of bath paths. I used them on this ebike review, riding all the way from the suburbs to the city centre barely going near a car: ua-cam.com/video/zfVDKP-gv6k/v-deo.html
All new vehicles in New Zealand must currently meet Euro 5/V (Euro 6/VI from 2025). The rules for public buses depends on the local council - for example, both Auckland and Wellington requires all new buses to meet Euro 6/VI but existing buses only need to meet Euro 3/III.
The price of the CVT is 200 USD. So it is not that different from other components in a similar category. @Cyclingabout made a video about this system a month ago.

Awesome work Gav. Loved to see you on a bike! At $9k I'll stick to my analogue bike with a trailer....

HI Gav, take a look at the Tern cargo range - a cracking alternative, i bet you they would thrill your potatoes :)
Who doesn’t want a moustache ride?
With this price I would rather choose the Cake Ösa .I'm not sure if they are available in your market, but they are truly workhorses.
Oh, Sir! You'd not have to ask twice.
Hi Gav, Excuse my ignorance, but do you have to pedal?
It's a very good question! You do have to pedal to engage the motor, but the strength is largely up to you. More pressure equals more assistance. -Gav

Great to see ebikes on the program.
125kg tyre rating? How does that translate to 200kg carrying capacity + bike + rider?
There are two tyres on the bike. 2 x 125kg = 250kg.
@@lcmortensen , so the weight of the rider, the bike, the battery can be only 50kg combined?
but does it have mirrors ?
What euro engine standard are the buses use in NZ?

200 kg is the total weight. That is the weight of the bike, the rider and the load together. You can’t cycle around with 200 kg extra weight.
9.5k for an e-bike! God damn! I believe somewhere in china they can make the same bike for 1k...
a bit on expensive side, probably half cost goes to CVT
for buck I would get an electric scooter instead..

Those "bike lanes" are horrible! Who came up with that? I would be pushing my bike down the sidewalk before I rode there...
Dismimbermint? 😂
