Hey Miekkob, I'm trying to do a kick me sign run for the first time and am having a ton of trouble with crowd control, it seems like I never have enough time to capitalize on opening a guard or getting a juggle. Luckily though I've gotten to the point where just about any enemy 1 on 1 is easy for me. Do you have any tips for a KMS newbie?
if this is your first time around then I recommend you play on normal KMS instead of jumping directly into hard difficulty KMS, if you already are doing that then that's good, a KMS run is the kind of self imposed challenge people are supposed to be doing last before they're done with the game for good because of how intense the challenge is and this tends to burn people out, in casual play you got your roulettes and god hand ability as panic button so now you don't anymore meaning you're supposed to rely a lot more on game knowledge by abusing counter hits and air launch kicks and other unblockable moves because that's really the only tools available. So the difficulty of the game also comes from the moveset you're sticking with, you have got to be thinking about practicality and even doing some more meta and boring stuff to play safe, so lots of juggle setups to send enemies flying and then air launch kick them into other dudes for extra damage. If you're on a newgame, then you have to make do until the movelist opens up, the moment you get Hand Plant Kick and Double Snap Kick is a game changer as HPK it one of the safest juggle with its startup s and DSK sends elites at air launch kick height. Then you need a launcher technique, if you're on Normal and juggling between level 1 to level 3 then anything goes, but you'll need an unblockable if you ever hit level DIE because the rules of the game have now changed and enemies become resilient to the launcher status effect. If you haven't already then I suggest you give a read to my juggle and launcher google doc tutorial, you'll find the tutorial in the video description over here ua-cam.com/video/xHDhMGb4UAg/v-deo.html Anyhow, to answer your question, as far as crowd control goes, keep your combos short, you have to keep thinking in flowchart then, if a guard break lands that's great, either go for a quick charged punch and send the enemy flying or go for a kick launch to get some breather room instead and repeat, if for whatever reason you don't have time to stun and capitalize on a guard break, then counter hits as well as juggles and launchers exist for this reason, they let players bypass the arbitrary guard breaker mechanic by applying status effect mostly for free, but watchout because enemies can still dodge and counter them, so they're not an instant win strat. In practical term that means fish for counters with a high side kick or reverse sweep, or abuse air launch kick after a juggle to wear enemies down. Also get yourself a High Evade technique, I like to have drunken twist or left twister mapped on down+X, they're a great way to start a combo by stealing an enemy's turn and staggering them.

I'm currently playing on pcsx2 and the input lag is noticeable, it turns me off to keep playing, i remembered back in the days when playing on ps2 i've never struggled so bad at DIE difficulty idk if i just got rusty or the input lag slows me down and makes me missed every input that i intented to do, thanks!
