What's up guys, here are 3 methods on how to restore your HP Stream 11 /14 laptop back to factory settings. Let me know which method worked and which laptop you have. Thank you
As for me.. the 3rd method worked; f11 + delete and without release them I pressed power to turn the pc ON after some seconds It took me to the set up screen and I release everything. I hope my comment helps somebody thank you
Had to reset moms today. None of these worked for me. For me: 1)shutdown computer 2) turn on and begin pressing esc. Your system manager pops up 3) select f11 to restore/reboot. Thanks for your info much appreciated
Just have to continually press f11 when the pc is off then turn pc on. As soon as you turn pc on hit f11 repeatedly the restore menu will appear, then pick the options you want. It has been the same procedure for years. Easiest way to find out is find out with any laptop, as pc is starting up hit every key from esc to delete. The usual keys are f-8, f-11,Del. ,esc.
I was trying to find a way to factory reset my little brother’s friend’s lab top because he forgot his password, and everything I’ve tried hasn’t worked, but apparently the UA-cam algorithm heard my prays and recommended this video. Thank you sir, you are a lifesaver.
New method works for me by holding the "delete key, f11 and power button" at the same time. Thanks for your method, it did work on my laptop but through the ideas I get this method
so for me, it was the power button along with the f11 key at the same time, none of you listed methods worked, at least this video gave me an idea. LOL So thank you!!
Tried all three options. Got into the recovery section via option 2 and 3 but no option to set back to factory settings. Selected the option i thought it would be but said i did not have enough space to do the reset! I can see other's have had the same problem. So logged in as normal and went to the recovery options via the desktop and choose the option to make a recovery drive. It needs around 7GB. Restarted the laptop and choose to recover from the USB drive i made earlier. Machine is now at 50% recovery so far :-)
The best and easiest way to do this will actually work on any windows laptop/computer. Here is method 4: With the computer turned on, navigate to the power options. Once you have the power options pulled up (there are three, shut down, restart, and another one I can’t remember). Press and hold the shift key and click restart while holding it down. The computer will then navigate to the same recovery screen that is shown in the video where you can do this reset from.
I have a 2020 Stream laptop I bought brand new in 2020 (from Amazon). What worked for me first try was when the power was off, I held F-11 and pressed the power ON button. Soon as the laptop turned on, screen prompted me to wait. I was able to successfully factory reset my laptop this way. Thanks for your help!
how can i reset my laptop, when I try to reset is it will show "additional free space is needed on the drive where windows is installed. Free up some space and try again" but my laptop no longer have applications... pls help
Hello so I got to all the steps and then once I was able to reset my PC at the very end it says additional free spaces as needed on the driveway. The windows is installed free up some space and try again. The whole purpose of resetting it is for everything to be deleted. Is this a glitch?
i must have bad luck cause i tried all three and i always get "additional space is needed" when i try to completely wipe it. Nothing is installed, all files are removed already. It's very frustrating. I'm trying to give it to a friend but it seems i'm a a wall. you're methods to get where i'm going, i just can't get the sucker to take.
I have a Stream 11” HD display and I used all three methods you mentioned. It’s been 5 or 6 years since I have used my laptop. I thought when I didn’t remember the password and the three security questions. All I had was a expensive paper weight lol thank you for helping me out 🎉
Thanks so much Andrew I had to save money and get ac laptop from a pawnshop but your video helped, I tried 1 and 2 😅but 2 was the method that worked for my HP Stream laptop - thanks ready for classes and my Masters Degree!

Well I did the reset and it keeps on doing auto repairing every time I turn it on. And I tried solutions online and nothing worked I don’t know what to do.
I have the HP stream... I dont know what model but its a purple computer. I got it for my daughter and she doesnt want it... I know the pw but I want to reset the 1st option worked to get to the recovery screen and then it said it n3ed more space... can u assist????
Its saying I need more free space when I try to reset the password and clear everything. Why? Can I not clear everything without an external harddrive?
How do you wake the computer up... I'm not saavy but if I'm not typing or get up to use the restroom and my laptop goes to sleep... I have to hit the power button up in the left corner... it usually start the whole computer 🖥 over again... I just need ro know how to wake it up.. moving rhe mouse does nothing... Foe my other laptops all you have to do is move it and the computer will get bright/wake up... not this one... is it a way to simply wake it up?
I bought a stream 11 from yard sale for $20. They said they cannot get to wi does due to they cannot log in or reset/recovery to manufacture setting. I decide to get it. But it end up the keyboard is the issue that none of they key buttons is working. I decide to connect a USB key board. When it done loading and got to the user name and password. I can type in the number key. But I dont know the password. I try all of the methods you mention on the video with the USB I hook to it. It wouldn't work. If this the case how do I get to work.
I’m trying to delete my laptop that I forgot the password it’s been awhile since I used it. When I go to options to delete everything it says my windows need space and free some up and try again. How do I do that if I forgot my password
Why does it say undoing changes? And when it finished i can't open it. It's stuck in sign in and i can't sign in cus it says the user profile service failed the sign-in user profile cannot be loaded
I wonder if the creator of this is still looking at this to help me - I can get to the reset screen with the delete + F11 method however when I want to reset and completely wipe the laptop (I’ve forgotten my password so can’t get into it!) it says: “Additional free space is needed on the drive where Windows is installed.
