my inspiron 5000 asking me for hdd password... (Brand new SSD - no password)... cannot do anything about it :/ .... only solution is to contact dell and ask for some kind of master password but you need to prove ownership (i bought it online 2nd hand...) so they cannot provide any help... it has i5 8250u 4x core 8 threads and fkin 5400rpm old drive that is slow as fck... and i cant do anything bout it
Although you probably already figured out the problem I just deleted some core files just enough to the point where my PC was literally f****** bare Bones. You just have to set your thing to developer mode and you can take out these important files without much issue however this can cause big issues and I only suggest for a last resort f

Reinstall Windows 10 using SupportAssist OS Recovery or Windows 10 installation disk If you don't use Dell PC I reccomend you to format the drive using Windows 10 installation disk

if you just need to reset it and you know the password just go to settings and search reset then click on reset this pc the first option is it so just click get started and then it's the same as the video

I am an IT service technician and I actually turn down dell laptops when they have this scenario kick up. It's too much BS to try to enable PPT to no avail and then go on a wild goose chase. I instead just factory reset. I am right how having to contact dell on the warranty on an inspiron 13 7000. I absolutely do not recommend it. I am jumping through the ropes troubleshooting one and its a nightmare. Dell support offers no assistance.
