Ahhh this is so cute, MOE JAYN ACTIVATED.
2020, still one of my favorites.
I have so many sappy things to say. I don't write happy songs, because I'm not actually a very happy person (ah hah a). Most of my originals are either stories I'd like to tell for fun, or my way of expressing feelings that would otherwise be locked inside. Sometimes I try to sit down and write a happy song, but it doesn't work because I just don't feel it. When I wrote *Give it TIme*, that wasn't the case.
I frequently receive emails and comments from people who express that somehow my music and covers have touched them. That they're cheered up when they listen to me sing, and that I've somehow managed to help them through hard times. _I am astounded by them_. Whenever I'm feeling cynical I remember comments and messages like that and they help me get out of bed when I just want to lay there for centuries. They help me get something to eat when I'm too depressed to take care of myself, and they inspire me to hope for the best.
You guys give me that extra 'push' I need sometimes to stay focused and improve myself as a person and when I wrote this song, I was fueled by the desire to write something of a 'companion' song; a song for people to listen to when they're feeling particularly bummed out and alone, and something to remind those of you who are inspired by my work that you inspire me just as much.
It was hard to compress all of my thoughts and wishes for you into a song, but I did what I could. I know that the advice in the lyrics doesn't apply to every single situation, but it's what I believe when it comes to smaller problems. I know you can't just 'fix' your depression, anger, or anxiety. You can't turn off your feelings. I just want you to push through, hold on and _try_. I'm still not a 'happy' person, but I'm _trying_ to be more positive and take the steps towards personal growth.
In my opinion, life can suck. It's unfair and unpredictable and scary, and it's 10x scarier when you're feeling alone, but there are things that make it worth it, and one good thing about the unpredictability is that when things suck they can suddenly turn around for the better. You never know what could be right around the corner waiting for you, and the only way to find out is to just keep moving forward and trying your best. Eventually, something good will happen, and it'll put all of the bad things into perspective.
I just want you to reach your full potential and realize you have so much of it, you can put whatever you want to out into the universe. All things are temporary.
Connecting and reaching others is one of the things I want to keep living for. Think of something you have RIGHT NOW to hold onto and keep you grounded until you reach your 'big' goal. Life is a precious, fragile thing. Use it to be an inspiration to people around you, and to grasp happiness when it comes to you. The more you reach out to others, the less alone you'll feel yourself. Remember what's important -and eat lots of cake-.
Anyway, this song is for those of you who may not have had the best 2015 and are unsure of how to move forward This is also for people who want to be happy. There are a lot of people in the world who don't, and would rather stay disgruntled and negative. For those of you who do want to (try to) be positive, it's a new year. 'Stay determined!' :)
*This advice won't apply to everything*, and for those of you with more complicated woes, never hesitate to send me an email at *Jayn@LittleJayneyCakes.com* and we can get into some of the heavier and specific advice. I know it may feel weird to randomly send me an email detailing your personal problems, but I'm not judging you. You're never bothering me with it and I'm never going to say anything to hurt you or make you feel silly for sharing something with me.
In case I don't reply right away, I'm moving in January ( yes, again ), but I'll be 'homeless' until the 10th of the month so I'll probably disappear until a little after that point, but I'll get back to you as soon as things settle.

This channel is growing to fast ;-;
Back when Jayn only had 25k subscribers, it felt really nice having a small community in which Jayney could reach out to us and talk to us in the comments, and the channel just felt like a family. But alas, as every FANTASTIC CHANNEL must, Jayney has grown in 71k subscribers, and will continue to grow into 100k in 2016. I am starting to cry while writing this, because I'm so, so, SO, SO happy to see such a deserving UA-camr get what she deserves, but I'm sad to see the fantastic times that Jayney and her community shared together slowly move away. But hey, I KNOW that great times are still ahead, and I want to be with this channel every step of the way! Let's make this channel even more fantastic in 2016!

First of all, SOBS. This makes me so sad!! I miss it too, it was pretty much the perfect amount of subscribers, where I recognized most people who commented, and had a happy amount of organic views from nice supportive people. Now if I post a video and it gets popular I freak out and stop reading the comments after a while because there will be people I recognize, people I don't, and then people who want to 'knock me down a peg' by being really critical and sometimes hurtful.
Like, sometimes now it's easier to just post a video and slink into the darkness and pay no mind to who comments or whatever so I don't have to sit through a _possible_ onslaught of mean comments. But I still eventually read them, because it's worth it to interact with those who are supportive, and without criticism I would have never gotten any better. It makes me happy to recognize those who have been around for a while, I feel like I've been moving forward with you guys - not away from you guys.
I've been a lot busier recently, just trying to find a place to live and settle down in. Patreon, album sales and UA-cam royalties have basically changed the game for me. So on one hand it's awesome because working really hard is consistently paying off, and if it continues at this rate I'll be able to do this without worrying about how I'm going to eat or where I'm going to live within the next couple of years, but I know one day if I keep growing I'll stop being able to recognize the people who comment often, and I'll stop being able to reply to them all - which is already happening. :(
But I'm always going to try to keep in touch, and I'll always read my emails and try to find time to reply to them. It's still pretty easy for my to reply to people on Twitter and Facebook, so that's awesome. I just hope that I'll always be able to find a way to connect to you guys somehow, even if I eventually can't keep up with UA-cam anymore. It means SOOOO much to me that people listen to my music and take the time to interact with me, that's amazing! OKAY I'M WRITING ANOTHER ESSAY SO I'VE GOTTA STOP BUT BASICALLY, JUST. Thanks for being here.

Ok so I've found another 'most underrated artist' right up there with Lollia. Holy shit how are you not rich right now. The lyrics and concepts to all your songs is AMAZING OMG.
This gave me the following things; the urge for freedom, the motivation to get social with people, and to be more friendly. Thank you Jayn for doing these things. My god you are an inspiration.
I feel like saying I'm just,so happy to be here. I got here around the time Jayn had around 10k-15k subs and I'm like,damn,I've seen such a wonderful young woman grow into such a talented and well known musician and it makes me extremely proud and happy to see her grow.

Yep. Yep. Yep. Okay. My old best friend, he had to move away. We've both suffered major depression. He stopped me from killing myself one time...I'm way better now but he's in a dark place, soon, we're meeting for the first time in a year and I'm really excited to see him! I really miss him and as cheesy as it is, I kinda want to learn this song and sing to him. Music means a lot to me and the song is too fitting to miss out on.

+Kei Fujioka Thank you so much! I make them in Mixcraft 7, with my piano and virtual instruments. Sometimes I'll play an instrument live (like my guitar) too. So the keyboard there is primarily what I use to record instruments into Mixcraft.

Then you try again and everything works out perfectly but you just had to Give It Time.(See what I did there?)
