RR, I was skeptical of your channel at first. For some reason, out of nowhere, your channel pops up as a recommended channel for me, and it just seemed way too polished to be legit. My conspiracy theory part of my brain thought, "oh this is a business experiment in how youtube works." Smart dude researches a niche sub-cultural, is well spoken, then exploits UA-cam's algorithms for profit... After doing some digging and finding all your old videos, you're super legit, man. This trick is extremely difficult and I've never really seen too many people do this. Finally subbed. Keep doing your thing.
i have always wanted to learn this one so thank you! if you know how you should do one on gingersnaps! i want to learn them but i'm having trouble figuring out how to pop them correctly.
Never saw this trick. Started sk8ing again 2 yrs ago over parking renos. So, Parking lot at my building was under renovation , and Building management made a deal with the city to allow us to park on the road down the hill several blocks away. I started sk8ing in mid 80s (I'm 43 now), quit in mid 90s. Anyway... was a long walk. Bought a pro set up to quicken the commute. Fell in love with sk8ing again. Love your channel! Probably the best one ive come across im the last 2 yrs.
I love how when you practice skating, things just begin to click. I can practice a trick for hours on end without landing it many times, then go to bed, and the next day all of the sudden I can do it. Its almost as if I'm still working on it in my sleep.
I always thought there was a difference between back foot v heels and semiflips. I thought that if you flicked it with your heel it's a v heel, but if you use your toe it's a semiflip.
Yeah dude a semi flip and a back foot varial heel definitely aren't the same. Check out Johnny Gigers video on it for a better explanation and example.
Man, I've been watching your videos for about a week now and it sounds corny but I love your dedication to everything involving skateboarding. I loved the Tony Hawk games and that's what brought me to your videos but I started watching your Retro Rippers, game reviews and shred school videos and you rule!
dude. much respect to you. love the content. always informative and entertaining. keep it up... Question. I stopped skating a few years back. I'm 35, should I start back? I'm super scared of getting hurt and missing work because of my old ass wanting to be young. Lol should i?
Nice, but it isnt a semi flip. A back foot varial heel is completely different than a semi flip. You are missing the essential step that makes it a semi flip, which is the reason it's called a semi flip in the first place, the quarter kick flip, followed by the underflip of the back foot varial heel afterwards. Still a cool ass trick though.
I have a trick question for anyone on here I have been doing a pop shuv and flipping the board with my front toe in heel flip direction Sort of like a varial flip but the Flick is after the shuv No one has been able to identify this trick

Lol your a weird guy but that’s not always such a bad thing
That was a rollercoaster. One I would happily ride again. Keep doing what you do man.

+VLSkate I'm sure you'll get it in no time! I haven't done a ginger snap in a long time, but I can try them out soon.
This trick and the nose hook impossibles are amongst my favourite tricks done by Rodney Mullen for sure. Such an intriguing motion.
Yoooo, Aron L ! This dude taught me how to kickflip on youtube like 7 years ago hahaha.
Your channel is seriously one of my favorite channels on UA-cam, and not just skateboarding channels!
johnny giger got the best semi flips

second of the Rodney trick (0:22) is a hardflip ;) but really looks like semi flip :)
I checked with 0.25 speed and you are right.
Very cool looking trick. Thanks for this.

during sleep is when your brain and muscles actually build + improve... during practice you simply learn +gather impressions/muscle memory

3:04 hella steeze my guy
uwu a8ron indeed
Cheers for the vid. Haven't done one of these since the 90s. Got my backfoot heels fairly consistent again, so time to add it back to the bag! :P
Hey, can you do a tutorial on FS Pop Shuvit because I find them really difficult to catch while they are rotating behind me. Thanks!
You deserve many more subscribers
dude. much respect to you. love the content. always informative and entertaining. keep it up...

should i?
Doo It !! :-)
thanks to this I can now finally form it thanks 😊time to land it now
Nice. I always thought semi flip was the name for a hardflip that didn't fold.
wow! you've got skills!
btw, very nice and rare trick. I should work on it
Can you do a video on a hang ten hardflip. Just heard of it, apparently people have been doing them since the early 2000's. They look insane.
what deck are you skating? and what company/boards are you're favourite? #askradrat and goddamn man you got maxed flip stats
This video gave me a semi

next video how to frontside 50-50 on transition? btw you have a great channel I enjoy the content you put on here :)
jordi grant that's a pretty useless video. You just have to try it to do it
Next:360 inward kickflip
zukodude487987 lol wut
zukodude487987 in other words, 360 hardflip?
Do I need to wear jncos to do this?
shit just playing thps4 on pc with keyboard i brokeke my finger while doing this trick
Do you think the curse of the heel flip is a real thing rad rat?
?
Is a fakie pivot to shuvit still considered a fakie bigspin?
Big 3ye yes cos its the only way I can do em
Big 3ye i guess only if its super smooth
my fakie bigspins. i get a 270 shove while turning then land on it and pivot the rest
but that's a good first step, almost everybody starts off like that
won't take you long to get that extra swing, believe me, it's only mental
How long did it take to learn this? You use the same tech as Rodney looks way too hard
4!
i accidentally did this trying to laser flip a penny board
Sorry but Mullen does his shit mid air like a video game where you have that 'double jump' thing.......... just different.
I have a trick question for anyone on here
I have been doing a pop shuv and flipping the board with my front toe in heel flip direction
Sort of like a varial flip but the Flick is after the shuv
No one has been able to identify this trick
Forward flip?
John Campbell sounds like an inward to me
skin19head69 same idea I'm mad good at inward heels but you flip the board after the shuv
It's so hard to explain
skin19head69
It's a pop shove late heel
Denniz Kazi DK BEATZ
Doesn't have no crazy name yet?
3:05 at .25x speed you’re welcome
UGGH
I need help on me Ollies homie
NerdedWolf_XBOX pop, jump, slide your foot, land
Im so glad i was a skater when i was (early 90s to 2o00) THPS ruined skateboarding... All these stupid fliptricks that look like garbage.
So a game made you quit skating?
