I recently received a variation of this puzzle that is a ball instead of a star, which surprisingly makes it much harder to solve because you can't simply balance pieces the way you did here. You almost need 3 hands so you can hold the first half in shape while you build the second half.

This is the easy way. I discovered the hard way on my own. I admit it would be helpful if I had a third hand! LOL
