I will be hunting with the land shark this year hoping for great results. So far they are flying great i plan on pulling them out of the ground after going thru a deer. Darren
I have had very similar blood trail results using single bevel broadheads. I have switched to VPA 3 blade because of that reason. I have not shot a deer with them yet, but I am worried about penetration as I use a 45lb longbow. I like the design of the Simmons shark but am scared of being able to sharpen them. I am not that good at putting an edge on anything even with using jigs.
I highly recommend you get the sharpener that Simmons broadheads sells I used to use that to get the initial bevel on the broadhead to where I like it. I've done this so many times, and I used to use a flat file on my zwickeys to where I can hold a good angle and do it freehand so it Jewel stick a three-sided Jewel stick works perfect for me followed up by stopping on jeans. If you have any problems just give me a shout and I'll help out as I can there is a learning curve to sharpening these concave blades but it's not that difficult
Been shooting them for 20 plus years...have on order the new timber shark 190 gr.....I shoot a compound an they fly extremly well...had jerry simmons woodpecker drill also had it for 30 years an srill going
Dave, I have taken some game with Tiger and land sharks! Completely off topic, but I'm on Abes build list for a Taiga ex, I seem to shoot my 3pc. Bows the best. With that being said. If you could only own one between tuktu or Taiga which would you pick. Just curious . THANKS
I hunted all year this year with a 53 lb Tiaga Ex. Abe's bows are fantastic and all of them out shoot me. Since I have had double eye surgery I really struggle these days and seldom shoot past 20 yards. But that is not the Bows fault that is me. I've shot a lot of bows and Abe's are among the best that I've ever shot
