I have noticed over the years British police and emergency vehicles sirens are sounding less European and more North American....which is cool because the old sirens sounded wimpy to American ears.
No, I know you all have cool sirens now and good cop cars of your own. The French sounding sirens or "ring a ling" bells your police cars used to have are a thing of the past. I was watching the BBC the other day and American sounding sirens were being used. What kills us is you can have the actual cars we can't get or only under very restrictive circumstances. You all can drive around in them in uniform! So cool!
have to say I think the American cars are better equipped than our British variant but the light system on the American cars are much brighter than the British cars I like that and the sirens on the American cars are better and louder I would say. be nice to see a smaller American variant come to Britain due to our roads being so narrow. but I did like the video.
The reason we don't use really bright light bars is because we ain't as ligt up as the U.S is plus alot of people in england have medical conditions the use of bright flashing lights would cause problems than actual fix them. We don't need loud sirens because our streets are not loud enough to warrant the use of a loud siren try comparing new York City to London. London is much more quieter in noise pollution so no need for loud sirens, while in new York they need loud sirens to combat the noise pollution
@@patriot6165 8 million what? People? Year that is true. But I forgot to mention we have very narrow streets noise carries much further and its more louder than other places. If you put a rumbler in a narrow London street it would shake the foundations.
The Lincoln at 1:23 is what I call a clown car. Just a standard passenger car that someone painted black and white, put stickers on it and a lightbar but definitely not a police package car. I wonder if the 1992 Caprice is just a passenger car too with those rims.
Although, in Houston while there are still many Crown Victoria, they do have a lot of those new Taurus and some of them drive the camouflaged Camaros on the freeways to catch speeders.
+Andy Simm How would you see a police car in the night if t was black and white. England police have those glowing stickers which makes it easier to see police.
+Muhammad Nas exactly. thats why you cant see police cars at night, so they can catch you speeding. you can see them clearly when the entire thing is lit up with lights
andrejundbogdan Actually were blue and white. They just looked black and white on TV due to there not being colour. IIRC it was after A Cars got big that the term caught on.
As an American, I'd like to say that UK has some beautiful police cars that I wish were legal to even drive on our streets. That makes me want to immigrate there and bring a Las Vegas Police car with me. :]
Randy Orton This was an old post, honestly, my thoughts on the UK are the same. xD I'd love to live there, it will still take some time getting used to driving on the other side of the road. I just have different thoughts based on career and future preferences. I can't argue with you, it's your thought over experience. However, it will not stop me from wanting to visit. :)
Sgt. Orloski It is an American car...made by Ford Motor Company, an American company. I'm sure Canada has companies that manufacture their products in America, and it doesn't make them American.
+John Rambo (The Inspiration) I've seen a corvette, Mercedes 2 door coupe, navigator, and hummer H3 all marked, all used. They were cars from drug arrests and seized by police. They were marked and used after conviction of defendant. With that said, you sure those two vehicles, marked in the video, were never used at any time as marked patrol units?
+AverageJoe Undercover I've definitely seen them used but not as an actual marked vehicle & those others u mentioned if u really saw them as marked police vehicles dat's cool cause I've only seen the vehicles u mentioned as undercover units.
John Rambo Oklahoma Highway patrol had a corvette in Oklahoma City. Northern Oklahoma had a Camaro. OKC PD also had a Mercedes 2 door, and OK County S.O. had the H3 (iirc). All marked, granted the H3 wasn't for normal patrol, the Mercedes was a DARE car, the others were patrol.
All the new cops have Ford Explorers that go 150 mph and Tahoe’s that go something like 130 mph but they are heavier so they use them for aggressive drivers and what not
caleb smitherman The 3.5 litre twin turbo eco boost ones can do 150; the 3.7 litre ones (non turbo) a “mere” 130. There’s some business magazine article on the “ten fastest police vehicles” if you google those words.
Whoa you can import these? Are there any American vehicles that you can't import? If I tried to import a Land Rover Discovery into the US I'd probably get arrested or fined lol.
Yes, in the US or Canada you will have significant problems having one with all the llight bars, sirens and markings. It is not something generally that can legally be done here. Mores the pity....lucky Brits! :(
You are the loaf between my cheeks before flushing....that much I can tell you AND no, you cannot make your car to be that similar to a real US cop car with out risking legal troubles in many states.
I'm pretty sure it's 100% legal in the US with lights and sirens so long as you don't use the lights/sirens on a public road. I know a lot of people have classic police cars with functions lights and sirens.
1:06 LAPD Charger , Tahoe - RPU and NYPD CVPI , Another Dodge Law Enforcement Police Charger Interceptor ( but cannot identify on what Police Department , LAPD Chevy Caprice
Very nice show. A cop car these days is anything that is effective with 30+ hidden lights, a fast engine, and an upgraded handling package. I've seen people pulled over by orange and lime green Charger Daytonas (hideous colors), ordinary looking Mustang GTs, tricked up Suburbans, and the occasional Camaro SS - both marked and and unmarked. The most embarrassing thing to be stopped by is a police horse fitted with flashing lights on it's tail and saddle when you're driving a 350 horsepower car! Now that gets people laughing at you....
Mostly buy former American police cars and then apply all livery locally. Many cars come with all original equipment, otherwise they get it online and install it on their vehicles afterwards.
THE Nissan SUV is not used by the Los Angeles Police Department. The only municipality that uses them are the Los Angeles County beach & lifeguard Patrol and theirs are painted yellow. The Buick at the far end is also a fake. The rest of the police vehicles look original
The light bars are incorrect for the LAPD charger though... Same with the siren. The pathfinder and Lincoln town car are just plain silly. LAPD Doesn't use those, also the Caprice is correct, but it shouldn't have LED's on it, it should have a rotary light bar on it. The NYPD CVPI is correct though so props on who ever made that. Also if you want authenticity, get a California Exempt plate for the LAPD Charger, and a New York equivalent emergency vehicle license plate for the NYPD CVPI
+Dragon Butt (ThatsNoMoon) They might do 130...down hill...with a nice big gust of wind from behind. Our department's chargers do better than a CV ever did, only down side is that god forsaken blind spot on the driver side rear.
AverageJoe Any properly maintained ones will peg to 130mph. Theres a reason people struggle to outrun them in normal vehicvles. Naturally a newer charger will do it easier, but crown vics still can, and do.
Dragon Butt I've seen plenty of our crowns get outran by factory cars and trucks. They're well maintained, and though some have hit 130, they do not do so regularly, even brand new. Chargers on the other hand, I've seen hit 135 during optimal conditions, 130 easily. The biggest reason it's hard to outrun police isn't the vehicle, it's the radio. You can outrun a car all day long, but that radio is a helluva lot faster.
Dragon Butt Got me there, I'm not familiar with skodas and vauxhalls other than having heard the name. At one time my department had Ford Taurus'. They couldn't go fast, but we were gobsmacked when we tried to destroy them. You couldn't do enough damage to permanently screw them unless you risked injury.
+Glue-Stick Gaming Its a great car, they don't make them anymore :/ Here in the US when they retire them they usually strip them of law enforcement related stuff and sell them to civilians and they are great to have because they are built like tanks. Going 120MPH in a Crown Vic lights and sirens is something everyone should do at some point! Its wild!
No fair, you all in the UK and Europe get to play with American cop cars and have all the fun while doing this for the most part in the US would yield you a fine or maybe jail time! :(
So. just a few things to point out. The Lincoln and the Pathfinder are a massive no. The lightbar on the Caprice is too new for a car that age. The lightbar set up on the NYPD Vic should be, R,R,W,R,W,R,R. The LAPD Charger should have a Federal Signal Arjent, not whatever that thing is, and from the sounds of it. It has the wrong siren on it. It should Be a Fed Sig Smart Siren. Other than that. Yeah they're nice. Also. No I'm not American.
Obviously LAPD doesn't use Nissans, but I also think the NYPD one is a fake. The font where it says POLICE on the front fender is not accurate. That's a common characteristic of fake NYPD cars used for movies.
We don't have Police Pathfinders, we use Tahoe's and Explorers.
Tahoes yeah biggest
Maybe its a custom? I know they use Pathfinders in Saudi Arabia.
I grew up in LA. Never in my life, not once did I ever see a Nissan Pathfinder police vehicle
We also have chargers crown vics taureses
And in the 90s we used caprices and crown vics
I love how the NYPD Crown vic dwarfs the smaller EU market Ford cruiser in the first scene
That’s because it’s a ford focus lol any sedan dwarfs a ford focus
The UK ford focus is like getting a small hatchback and crossing it with a saloon/sedan
Woah, America's police sirens are way diffrent to the usual one i hear (english)!
American here. American sirens definitely get your attention.
lol. In England they are almost defining if you go up close to an abulance and stuff!
I have noticed over the years British police and emergency vehicles sirens are sounding less European and more North American....which is cool because the old sirens sounded wimpy to American ears.
Roman Williams Believe me it gets annoying.....although it is convenient to have fire/ambulance sounding very different from police/law enforcement.
No, I know you all have cool sirens now and good cop cars of your own. The French sounding sirens or "ring a ling" bells your police cars used to have are a thing of the past. I love how they're driving on the right side of the road.
American rocks! Look at how small our little British car is, LOL.
American tourist with a warrant in UK: ALL THE WAY OUT HERE?
Lol, why nobody likes this comment? It's hilarious.
only the nissan pathfinder and the lincon are fakes, the crown vics, the chargers and the caprice are originals
theneptune2011 Negative. none of those came out from any of those depts.
U mean none one...all of then are fakes???
theneptune2011 Correct.
+theneptune2011 of coruse that they are, why would a 1990s caprice have all LED lighting on it?
LED is not a problem.
...they are real but out off service, not legal in the us,but legal in another country
Is that a Caprice? Lol nice touch. The Pathfinder is out of place though. We do have F-150's, F-250's, and Explorers here in Texas, however.
have to say I think the American cars are better equipped than our British variant but the light system on the American cars are much brighter than the British cars I like that and the sirens on the American cars are better and louder I would say. be nice to see a smaller American variant come to Britain due to our roads being so narrow. but I did like the video.

Yeah you have so see the lights on Florida Highway Patrol’s cars (FHP), More lights then a Christmas Tree 🎄, LOL 😂😂
we never used nissan pathfinder as units
Geo Von Lengerke same with continentals😂
I wish UK had those cars;(
The Crown Victoria has the police interceptor engine.
The Lincoln at 1:23 is what I call a clown car. Just a standard passenger car that someone painted black and white, put stickers on it and a lightbar but definitely not a police package car. I wonder if the 1992 Caprice is just a passenger car too with those rims.

That just blows me away to see American Police Cruisers over there!!
0:43 is that a Lincoln Continental in police trim!?!? HAHAHAHAH
Eh? Crown Vic.
This reminds me how much i want a 90s caprice/impala
What was this for? Some sort of cop get-together?
Basically yes, just a few cop car owners having dinner together
+GRANDCENTRAL43067 Lol
Cool
menckencynic I was there
FrenchCrazy sausage fest!!
That first American police car has the turning circle of a small moon xD
Only the crown Victoria NYPD car is American, the other is from the UK I think. We don't use reflective tape or yellow on our cars
Yeah the start of the Video has a British and American Police Car side by side, the rest including the Black & Whites are all American imports
Roy Beck yes we do¬!!!
That's not even a real NYPD Crown Vic.
It's a show vehicle, in reality in current times now it's a SLR Vision Lightbar
The 2 Dodge Chargers are real you see those mostly in the southern part of the US
They should open up those V-8s. Do some doughnuts and burn outs.
Todd Barker They aren't V8s though
-Vance- Dun The Crown Victoria and the Chevy Caprice come with standard V8 engines. Some Dodge Chargers came with V8 engines.
garlic287 Our cop cars have N/A V6s here in ABQ
Average_Joe87 The chargers used by cops all came with V8s and well the Crown Vic obviously has a V8.
Police crown vics almost all have V8s
really wish the UK police cars where black and white

Scotty Bee We’re the same, we’re better than one another in certain aspects, but overall we are on the same league.
well said sir!
@Sgt. Orloski stfu
Canada is basically America, just colder and their laws are odd but whatever.
Accidentally set spawn point to Leeds instead of America 💀
@ 1:22, As a police vehicle, I have never seen a Lincoln Towncar.

Currituck County, NC used Nissan Titans in the Outer Banks. They may still have a few around.
Real police cars amongst those British things. Anyways LAPD most certainly doesn't use the Carson siren
Sounds cool tho. 🚨 🤔
I like the new cars of england police
Well No Vauxhall Astra here...
I'm very surprised to see the Lincoln Continental at the end. its not a Town Car but a Continental!!
Should take that NYPD car up to our own New York in the North East of England 👍
lol
You'd probably fit entire population of English New York in that Crown Vic. 🚔
Love.the Chevy Caprice drove one for a while fast cars.
Well the Chevy started being used in 1991 until 1996
Also i've never seen a lincoln patrol car, stateside. But i guess it would work.
theres is a Lincoln in that group ,that is not a real police car, maybe a convertion by the owner.

australians like the american muscle too. big power

LAPD and NYPD Sheriff as always

American police invading England ?
@Aj bring out the English Land Rovers!!
They should've taken some of the Ford Explorer or Chevrolet Suburban police vehicles they have in Houston. Those really look sick.
Good video
This video is in Morley west yorkshire not sheffield !
I wish we had crown viva in the UK

+nateo200 Honestly, I like how the new chargers look. Especially since they get newer paint.
The Crown Victoria has a full frame bumper to bumper. The Charger is not solid like the Crown Victoria.
@@Lincolnator721 It's far more rigid than the Crown Vic. The only advantage of a body on frame is the ease of repair.
this is not In Sheffield it's in Morley Leeds.
NOT EVEN A NYPD SIREN OML
Since when has there ever been an American Nissan Armada and Lincoln Towncar black and white?
These aren't actual patrol cars they are the show cars from each agency you can tell cause NYPD patrol cruisers are not in this good of shape XD
Actually I lie they are getting better these days must've got a bigger budget haha but they use to have cruisers that were in terrible shape
All those cool looking cop cars.... in front of fucking Wilkos. The poor mans Wallmart.
Walmart aka Asda is still a poor people's shop.
What the hell is that Nissan doing there.
That Lincoln, too.
EggHead X9 they might've been undercover police cars

Nissan Pathfinder???

What's the back story to this?
Morley Town centre.
what did they do there ????

Is it expensive to own and maintain one of these?
PAXperMortem maybe in the U.K. but a crown Vic is cheap af in America
PAXperMortem rather reasonable
Fuel would be very pricey on them V8s, especially now in 2022.
I got earape at the begining.
COSTCO IN THE BACKGROUND
How the did the last cop car remain with a U.S number plate in the UK?
It isn't. It's a British number plate made look like California state one.
Will the American cop cars will come back to the United States
How did the NYPD cars get there?
This looks like Leeds, not Sheffield.
What state uses a Nissan Pathfinder for police lol.
2 of those aren't police cars lol. Nissan Pathfinder and the Lincoln Continental.
Typical LAPD. Always dipping outside their jurisdiction
Somewhat.
