- Hello everyone here in this video we knock down a automatic transmission from a 2009 toyota camry le with a 2.4L engine , we show some tips and info and how we did it !
It's called an engine support beam. And a transmission jack, which costs around the same, ~$80, would have made this job a lot easier. I'm about to drop the trans on a '92 to rebuild it so I've researched the hell out of it. No way around suspending the engine and dropping the subframe and all the rest. Not looking forward to it but it has to be done.
why did the trans fail? how many miles were on it?
transmisson are bad from manufacturer they fail after between 150k - 200k miles if not expact for the transmission go bad sooner or later. bad design, piss poor engineering from toyota and they never got around to fix issues with U760E Transmissions just pure garbage, just like 01 - 03 honda odyssey, civics,accords - basically honda and toyota like screwing over there customers. honda clean up act after losing sales like crazy the same will follow with toyota. Toyota has left a bad taste in most there customers mouth.
How much did that trans swap go for?
i'm replacing the transmission on my moms 2010 camry & its a botch! I dont know wth those engineers at toyota were smoking when they design this vehicle. holy cow! my rsx transmission swap was much easlier
