You should run an amp to the speakers you test before you make your decisions. It will make a difference. Also try adjusting the eq settings on the head unit

Kicker is known for actually putting out a little more power than what they advertise but it does matter how you pair your system. if you pared this with a 300 wat amp it would make a lot more sense with a lot less of a chance you will blow anything.

I bought both the comp and comp c. The c is 10 times better! I wouldn't even bother with the non comp - its that big of a difference.

Remember my first system Sony xplod silver pushing a pair of 8inch kicker cvr old models each on there own sealed box under seat. Sounded nice. Now I have soundstream rubicon 1002 amp got it for $60 bucks in 2017 and pair of 12 soundstreams T4 $200 pair . And ported box single 12 for $60. Nvx OFC 4 gauge wire. So far has been in service in my 2015 Camry. Me and my gf we love playing it loud on long runs one time we had road trip from San Francisco to Las Vegas we played loud and proud all the way the amp did stop playing for a second because it was 110 degrees in Las Vegas but then it kick back and we kept playing lol. Ever since no issues. Have fun guys gain in your stereo keep it 0db and amp level try to keep it 3/4 is just the basic adjustment you can apply that in home audio too.

My bad guys I forgot to answer your question. No you guys are not doing anything wrong, those pioneers sound like they should but they are not built like they used to. The voice coils are a little bit on the cheap side but also the price reflects it. Great video.

Try the sub in a bigger ported box for more spl and remember cone area is king. So get around 15 sub or add a another 12

Then the Remote Bass knob is a quick & convenient way to change your subwoofer output independent of the rest of the sound system. The crossover setting is one of those things to play around with until you get the tone vs. output level you'd like. The Wiring Harness only having hi level speaker input is due to design and cost. However, we recently started doing the opposite with newer Powered Subwoofers. The RCAs are connected to the wiring harness, and if you want to use Hi-Level Speaker signal you cut them off. I imagine you'll see that going forward! KEEP LIVIN' LOUD!

I have the same amp and sub in a minivan and it's ridiculous!,tune that amp right and don't be scared to turn it up!,I've had it pounding for 4 years now I'm super impressed with it!,but I did build a custom vented enclosure and a large capacitor, boxes tuned to 40 hertz!,you'll piss everyone in the neighborhood off!,just ask my wife!😂
