This is first video of the series wherein I compare older references to their modern counterparts.
In this video I will pitch the 16710 Pepsi up against the in demand 126710BLRO.

For me, I prefer the old classic due to 3 big reasons: 1) the bright blue and red on the aluminum gives a pop that the ceramic just doesn’t have. 2) I prefer a brushed oyster bracelet, to me it’s quintessential Rolex style 3) the classic has a 120 click bezel which can be used as a timer similar to a dive watch. The ceramic only has a 24 click, so the only use will be tracking a third time zone which is pretty much never needed

The 1675 bezel has zero clicks, just infinitely variable.
@@WindItOnTheMove The watch needs to be accurate because it tells time. I think new Pepsi 's caliber 3825 is much better than 3185 ( 16071). The new caliber has parachrom hairspring and it will not get magnetized. 3185 gets magnetized very easily. Yes, both movements can operate between +/- 2secs.
But if you bring a small magnet near 3185( 16071) movement. it will get magnetized and start running 20 secs faster or slower. but the new movement 3285 will not deviate from its accuracy even if you stick the magnet on the case back. This is really cool.
The new Pepsi has triple lock system. Thus provides more resistant to water and moisture. My only complain about the new Pepsi is the size of the font of the number used on the bezel. The numbers look too big. Thus really made Pepsi like a rugged instrument.
Yes, charm and looks count but the most important thing to remember is that this is a watch an instrument to tell the time. It must tell the time as accurate as possible

Looking at the two side by side plus your video on 16570 it becomes apperant that the 5 digit models of Sub GMT and Exp are more understated to the point you could actually wear them outside of UES. Yes they are still Rolex but they draw far less attention to themselves.
What an awesome video! Have to say the only Pepsi bezel I’ll ever have on my wrist will have ‘Seiko’ on the dial! But the info you give on both references is special. A GMT hand complication is a huge milestone in the history of watch horology! Soon I’m going to have a Rolly hulk to review which I’m very excited about !!! I wanna twist that bezel!!!!!!!!!

The GMT was created for airline pilots, being a pilot in those days represented a glamorous lifestyle,hence the jubilee bracelet..it's meant to be fancy...

Great video. I have a 2005 GMT I bought new. It’s a fantastic watch. The new version looks great but has lost the charm of the original, being more Sub-like. I also have a 2020 Sub, again a fantastic watch. But the GMT is my fave.
The more I look at them the more I think the ceramic pepsis are just pretenders. It really upsets the vibe.
It just comes down to that bezel and the bracelet. The blue color on the ceramic bezel just doesn’t look bright enough to me. Being a tool watch I believe the oyster bracelet belongs on it but I understand people who love the fit of a jubilee. I’d rather have the 5 digit.

There is no debate at all, if you want a watch that feels quality the 126710 is the watch, if you want a vintage GMT with a very light bracelet that feels cheaply made get the 16710. I’ve had both but kept the 126710, I cannot spend that much money on a watch and have it feel cheap.
Great video, but a point of correction. 126710 has a 24 click bezel, not 60. I can't speak on how many clicks the 16710 has, but 120 seems fishy. Maybe Im the only one who cares though.

Although the 5 digit GMT Master is technically inferior to the 6 digit, there is no doubt in my mind that the 5 digit is a far nicer watch aestheticallly. I really hate the maxi case and the ceramic bezel looks plastic like, with the red and blue colours. Finally I am not a fan of the jubilee bracelet with sports watches.
I agree aesthetically the 5 digit looks great and I was not a fan of the jubilee on the Pepsi too until I tried it 😊
I know this comment is 2 years old but yeah although I don't mind ceramic bezels and actually like the black and blue colors on the GMT Batman, for some reason and I've seen the ceramic pepsi in real life, the colors on the Ceramic Pepsi look kinda off and as you say looks plastic.

Wind It On The Move ...just a shame ..ive got the same gmt....bought it 20 years ago new and used to wear it for everything when it was my only watch,
...now i have a much larger collection and the rising value of the gmt has affected my ability to truly enjoy it now also.
