Penn's voice is perfect for that song. He nails the classic 50-60's American crooner style. Move over Andy Williams, Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, etc! 👍🔥❤️
I agree. It took me a line or two before I realized it was Penn singing.
@@kynn23 Right? And now that I think about it, he could probably make a pretty good Christmas album / playlist on Spotify. The only reason I can think for not making one would be the time / effort, whether it would sell enough to be worth it (only reason it might not might be due to possible market saturation with other people's Xmas renditions / covers already - no shortage of Xmas music, etc). But anyway, this song and his voice wre great together. 🤗🔥❤️
Was gonna say that. Penn sounds great.
“And they all reply, F you!”
🤣
There is NO WAY any true midwesterner would EVER leave their trash on the table like that.
True! 😄
I caught that too. Can only hope Penn cleaned up.
First thing I thought of ! 😱😱😬
I’m sure somebody cleaned it up! For whatever reason it was for the video!
YES!! I noticed that too. Midwestern nice demands cleaning up trash!
STILL laughing at her 'New Yorkers have such a funny way of being friendly!' It actually is alot like my family (also midwesterners)
Isn't it amazing Kim's neighbor can make herself at home almost anywhere?
She really does
She's the world's next door neighbor! 😁
Wish she was my next door neighbor. Oh the fun we could have.
@@Bluesbabesrv If you live in the Midwest, we are ALL your next door neighbor!
I love the friendship you have with your neighbor. She has the best sense of humor and I'm glad she's willing to all that fun stuff with you, it makes me happy. 😊
I love the running holding hands!!! The song tops it off. Ranch DOES just make everything better!!!
I love this! Your midwestern neighbor videos are some of my favorites! Penn needs to do more classic Christmas songs! He has the best voice for them!
This was one of your BEST!!! The best part was them holding hands! Those two are just hilarious! Y’all have made my day with this vid!! Merry Christmas!!!
the hand holding reminded me of Leverne & Shirley.
Merry Christmas!
This was so fun. And "YES" to ranch on pizza! Appreciate Penn's vocals in the background! Very festive!
As a Buffalonian, I died a little when she said that 😩
“Ope. Sorry. Ope. Sorry.” 🤣🤣
You too are gold! I have watched all this pair's videos at least 5 times each. Always puts a smile on my face! Thank you all and Penn for his amazing voice and writing!!
Glad we made you smile
“$&ck you too, sir!” 😂😂😂😂
My family and I were these typical new York tourists last week. In fact you sat next to us when we were eating lunch under Rockefeller and again at blue bottle. Thanks for making us laugh!
Hope you had a great trip!
How fun! I used to work there for 15+ years and I probably never would have noticed them! We’re all in a NYC commuter trance most of the time.
"Good luck getting back"... best line of the bit! Classic! Kim's good for a 4 or 5 hour nap back at the hotel now!
Loved this....especially seeing the Meijer shopping bag that she is toting as she tours New York!! I would be right there with her hugging Elmo and getting myself a great I
Love how they're in NYC eating Jets Pizza (Detroit style, which by the way, is the best!) and how the Meijer bag goes everywhere!
She always has one with her
I use a Meijer bag as my daily tote, so this made me smile! (I don't recommend setting it on the table, though. Just like a purse...think about where the bottom of that bag has been.) Loved the video.
I missed the meijer bag. Must rewatch. Went to meijer last night myself. Very bad idea.
Detroit style is just there to give Chicago style an obtainable goal.
The Meijer bag was such a nice detail! 😂
Keep 'em comin', please!
LOVE your neighbor. She's cute as a button and seems sweet as she can be! And she's hilarious! She, like Kim, has great comedic timing! I went to New York once in the 90s on a business trip. As a lifelong Midwesterner, I found it...interesting. Didn't make it to Times Square, though. Merry Christmas to you and yours!!! 🥰🎄🎀🦌🎁🍥
Mr Holderness was crushing it on the song!
This had to be super stressful to film. Props to you all!
😂😂 my thoughts
I about spit my coffee out with the street greeting!
The small dog part was classic as well & so true
Love the Meijer bag. I do miss Meijer's
This might be the best Midwestern Neighbor video yet!
I noticed the Meijer bag too.
She keeps one of those bags with her at all times
I absolutely love once she does videos with her Midwest neighbor
Haha!! As a New Yorker, this is HILARIOUS!! so funny to see all of these places are so close together. Glad you had fun in NYC
Agreed. I was like "they must be tired"
You two are sooo funny together. Besties in NYC!!! :)
I just love the videos of the two of you together.
As a NYC-er, I love this! You were actually right across the street from my husband’s office when you were by the library. But I HATE the Times Square Elmos. They’re so creepy - and a couple of weeks ago, one hit on me. Ew!
Thankfully we met a very nice Elmo
Did it do the voice...?
@@smellincoffee HA! No… he spoke in his normal voice.
Stay for the outtakes! The neighbor
I love seeing the Meijer bag! Perfect Midwestern touch.
I love Ann Marie. She could do her own show in a heartbeat.
😂 you two are so fun I want to be the 3rd wheel and go to NY with you 😊 love the song ❤
You ladies are soooo hilarious! I love your comedy sketches! 😂
The funniest part is Ann Marie carrying that big blue Meijer bag around! What is that about?? 😂
Only a true Michigander would find a Jett’s Pizza in NY!! You gotta love it.
I love the Meijer bag cameo!!! And as a fellow Michigander......yes....ranch makes everything taste better!!!
My sister briefly lived in Connecticut and I went to visit her over the T-Day weekend. Spent the day before Thanksgiving in Manhattan and did the following: Saw Grand Central Station; Saw 30 Rock, watched them put the big Xmas tree together; went to the top of the Empire State Bldg; went to Battery Park; went to Wall St., ate lunch at Famous Ray's Pizza; saw Times Square; saw "Monk's Diner" from Seinfeld; went to Central Park and watched them blow up the Macy's balloons. All on foot or via subway. And met some surprisingly nice New Yorkers along the way. It was a truly fun day.
It was so funny, that you asked her if she was cold, because I was just thinking the same thing. Hope she wasn’t to cold filming this. It was great and Penn song was wonderful. Of course his singing is spot on.
This is delightful! So much fun! I hope you keep finding places for them to visit together.
Man, Penn can sing!! Loved y'all on Amazing Race!! Y'all brought me an lot of joy and helped me get through co-vid. I moved from Atlanta back to.Michigan when my dad died and now I am mom's full time caretaker sonit has been tough. Thanks for doing what you and your family do. ☺️❤️
Very entertaining! Loved it! Let’s go!
Thanks for watching!
I soooooo love these videos !!!! Can’t stop laughing !!! Please keep making more of Kim and her friend !!! Still can’t stop laughing !
PS : I’m from NY
Kim, giving you the stink-eye: We're NOT friends!!
@@Drnaynay lol !!! Yes she says there not friends, but look how much fun they have together !!! I think she’s in denial !!! Lol !!! 😀
Honestly, NYC is #1 on my bucket list of places to visit, and probably in early December. But I need someone like Kim guiding me on HOW to do that. 😄This video was great!
still think that Kim and Ann Marie NEED A SIT COM!!!!! 🤣🤣
You two together are awesome. 🤣🤣
I loved this so much! ❤
See, I've always wanted to go to New York, especially at Christmas time but I'm just like Kim's neighbor and I'm afraid I'd get myself killed (what's it like to not be able to stop on the side walk?) I mean, here we hardly have any sidewalks. Anyway, watching these two enjoy Christmas in NYC helps fulfill my dreams 🥰Except for not seeing The Lion King on Broadway but she hugged Elmo! That's almost as good, right? 😊
Merry Christmas Everyone 🌟
Hint for sidewalks: That's what the newspaper vending machine spaces are for... step off the main walking area next to one of those if you need to slow down, tie a shoe, check your map, etc. Just DO NOT stop in the main sidewalk path!
@@EricaGamet Thanks for the tip! :)
@@raea3588 Sure thing! Someone told me that years ago when I first visited. I was from the ‘burbs and never thought of that. I live in a bigger city now and have never forgotten that advice!
NYC resident here: You'll be fine...just keep your wallet safe (see those crowds? loaded with pickpockets). In December 2022, the NYC closed 5th Ave to midtown traffic and made it a temporary pedestrian walkway. Eat, drink, be merry, see the sights. NYC is made for Christmas tourism. Enjoy!
@@gkennedy2998 That's very kind of you 🙂Thanks for the encouragement! 🗽❤
That was so cute. For a minute I thought I was watching Mary and Rhoda in the Big City.....
Being from New York (Brooklyn, that is), this was really hilarious!! I'm glad you two had a great time in NYC. Merry Christmas y'all!!!
Merry Christmas!
Most underused sentence here in New York "Gotta keep walking, don't stop" 😂
The "ope excuse me" as she walked down the street made me cackle. It also hits too local to home as that's basically me and I haven't lived in Wisconsin in over 20 years.
Once upon a time, i was a Michigan girl living in Manhattan, and once bumped into a guy getting on the subway. I squeezed about 8 mandatory midwest "sorry"'s in 2.5 seconds and his response was, "i don't have time for your f***in' sorry's. MOVE!". This video brought back that sweet memory🥲 Thanks, Kim and Midwest Neighbor!
Cannot stop smiling!! Love these duo video!!
Love the Midwest friend tourist vids - please do another if possible! If you’re looking for locations, consider Toronto or Montreal, Canada 🇨🇦! I’ve heard people from the States say Toronto is like New York run by the Swiss, and Montreal is the second-largest French speaking city in the world. Contact tourism authorities for those cities, and I’m sure they’d host your shoot.
Also putting Niagara Falls on this list of great Canadian places to film and do fun videos in, and I think they also have a tourism budget to attract visitors.
Midwest neighbor with Kim the introvert in Manhattan during the holiday! A disaster waiting to happen that was so hilarious! I lived in Yonkers and commuted to Manhattan 49 years ago and had a college internship at NBC that included lighting the Rockefeller Center tree! So much to do, so many (too many!) people, but it is indeed exhilarating in short spurts! Could totally relate with Kim needing to check out (proud introvert here!) I can't believe they didn't show real NY pizza (though I do love me some Jet's, which is also in Chicago where I now live)! The cheesy singing was the cherry on top! Merry Christmas and a wonderful holiday season to all!
Hahahahai think Kim and the neighbour are secretly best friends lol. PS ranch really does make everything better lol
You might be right 😊
Kudos to you Kim and Midwest neighbor for going Ice skating. I'd be afraid because I haven't done it in years! Also you're so lucky to see New York this time of year!💗
It's like Laverne and Shirley in NYC. This is one of the funniest video.
Hilarious as always - One of my favorites so far!! Made getting up this morning much easier! 😁
That was great! I hope y'all have a wonderful Christmas! Thanks for all the laughs!
This makes me so happy that you can both be yourselves 🥰🥰🥰 thanks for sharing.
The mispronouncation of Bagel as "Boggle" gives me major "Community" vibes of when the gang mocked Britta for saying "Baggel!"
Uh, she lived in New York Trinaq. She knows how to pronounce baggle.
In New Orleans it's bay-gle, with the emphasis on the aaaaay.
I have a friend from Oregon who says bag ul
She Britta’d the pronunciation for sure.
@@AFRSteve Are people using her name to mean making a small, understandable mistake?!
I love the ending scene with her and Elmo.
Great song Penn! Kim and Midwest Neighbor traveling together again! 🤣
That was cute your friend reminds of my mom she would always have long lists lol when we went to places
Oh my words. Over the weekend my hubby told me instead of gifts next year he wanted us to take a trip to NYC to go see Chris Botti at the jazz club. And I'm just like the neighbor. I quickly grabbed my pen and paper to start making plans. And the song would have been the perfect touch.
Not a single person gave you a second look while you were running around filming... I love New York (what a great vacation).
The ice rink thing is true. Had one in our backyard in WI for several years.
Not going to lie, I almost choked when I saw the Meijer bag. And by saw, I mean recognized far too long into the video because I am so used to seeing them. 😂
I was so glad you knew that wasn’t ny style pizza. I was horrified for a minute. Lol
I love Kim and Anne Marie together
This is why you don't share your "Find My Phone" with your Midwestern neighbors! 🤣😜
You guys are so much fun!
Making me want to go to NYC during Christmas now y’all❤
Kim I love the videos with your friend added she is so hilarious 😂
I actually grew up with an actual community hockey rink in my yard 🙂 my great grandparents bought an old school & converted it into a house, so the community skating rink, complete with boards, nets, lights & a heated warming shack were in our huge yard until about a decade ago when the city took it down. It was there for at least 100 years. My parents grandkids all got skates for their first Christmas (I wore my sister's hand me downs, but my older siblings got skates too). I live on the Iron Range in Northeastern Minnesota. I actually know many people who make rinks for their kids in their yard each winter (some are people who I grew up with here but they live in the Twin Cities now). We had a few lakes & pits around the neighborhood, so those also had makeshift skating rinks in places too. One neighbor actually built the boards around their backyard rink too. I live in town now (my parents house is exactly 2 miles from my house outside of town) & I have a community skating rink about 2 blocks from my house on the school grounds here.
New York winters are too cold for me, but seeing the City again reminds me of the two great summer holidays I've had.
You have the difference between Midwest and the South, and the difference between an introvert and an extrovert. I love this pairing.
I was just there!!!! I’m 99 percent sure that me and my family sat at that exact table you did in the beginning of the video!
Such a great video. Thank you so much.
Thanks for watching
Long Islander here. This is just too funny. I got physically ill when she called it “New York pizza” and added some ranch.
When I was a kid we went to NYC every Christmas. It has changed a lot, but some things never change. Caught a glimpse of Radio City Music Hall in the background and always loved the lights in Rockefeller Plaza. I guess the Christmas windows aren't much any more. They were fun, but as I got older the lines got longer. Great memories. Merry Christmas!
I have absolutely no desire to go to New York City...... Unless I can go with the two of you!
You know, New Yorkers are actually very nice. We will help you if you need help. We just do it in a way that’s more abrasive than others.
True. Folks that have never been to NYC end up mistaking New Yorkers' aggressive style as rudeness, which it isn't.
You guys definitely have a unique way of communicating. There was an interesting article put out several years ago by either a linguist or sociologist (or similar) that dissected the way New Yorkers talk as opposed to people in other parts of the country. It is definitely a very different communication style and if you don’t know that style it does come off as very rude. I don’t remember everything in the piece but one thing it mentions is that cutting people off mid sentence shows interest in the conversation and willingness to engage. Not in other parts of the country 😂
@@Cmallon81 that’s very interesting! My husband is from Minnesota. The first time he came to a family gathering with my extended family, he didn’t say a word. He was waiting for an opportunity, but no one ever stops talking. I told him that he just needs to jump in! After 20 years, he’s at expert level in New York style conversation!
@@Cmallon81 - It's all part of the aggressive manner that NYers interact with each other. There are undertones of Italian and Jewish culture mixed in as well, as well as a layer of cynical humor. An example of the latter is calling a section of Manhattan, Hell's Kitchen.
@@Cmallon81 Around here (Michigan), cutting people off mid-sentence means you don't care what they're trying to say next! It really bothers me when people do that. lol I'd be interested in reading that article. Might have to look it up when I have more time.
So, funny story, pre-pandemic, I used to travel to Chicago all the time for work and, as a Canadian, I could not understand the ranch dressing and pizza thing. And then I became pregnant... and now it all makes sense.
I love this. Now I really want to hop on an airplane and go to New York.
Love, love the midwestern neighbors.
Gosh that was great! Y'all always put a smile on my face
I actually love New York City at Christmas. True, it is full of tourists, but if you know your way around the city you can avoid all the crazy congestion and like Kim find a nice place for a glass of wine!
Living in Edinburgh for many years i get Kim's frustration especially when the festival is running
Reminded me of the opening scenes of the Mary Tyler show years ago. And yes, I'm a Boomer.
Funny, funny video, and great Andy Williams imitation.
Awww you were so close to where I used to work lol I might have seen you guys filming if I was still there. The only truly terrible thing about tourists is when they would randomly stop in the middle of the street to take pictures or walked suuuuuper slow.
#facts my biggest pet peeve and also standing on the left side of the escalator instead of walking.
@@sr_reacts_ omg yes!!!! I don't miss commuting in the city..at ALL! 🤣
I grew up in North dakota and literally had ice rink in my backyard dad filled in every winter - own ice skates since I could walk...🤣
Omg. The Meijer bag totally makes this a Midwestern in NYC moment! Nice slide!!
This video is so fun and cute!
I FEEL this video... Literally, in my feet and legs haha! I'm actually Canadian (Alberta) but we moved to New Jersey a few months ago, so a couple days ago I took the 5 kids to finally explore NYC! We basically walked the city (25k+ steps) to see the sites and it was magical, but CRAZY! The pizza we had was from "Unregular Pizza" and it was SO GOOD. They had amazing GF options, too... Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Family!
Love the meijer bag !!! We have a bunch of 'em in the house & in the cars. I also take 1 on vacation. Ya just never know when ya might need one.
Jet’s pizza is pretty damn good. Lol
As a New Yorker, I have to warn you to check for your wallet after taking a picture with Elmo
I was there 2 days ago and it was PACKED 🤣 You could hardly walk the crowds were so big.
Love your vids, they always make my day!
Have a great day!
Cute! Lived in Manhattan for 10 years and it wasn't long enough. December is the perfect time to visit, if you can afford the hotel/Airbnb prices. lol
When you live there, you always have that one family member or friend from home who visits and drags you through Times Square.
Watching this one a 2nd time
WAIT....were they eating pizza...at Sbarro in XSQ??? So gross! lol No wonder she needed ranch.
🎄 Amazing! I love you guys so much, and now you made a video with our family tree (that's my aunt and uncle's tree in Rockefeller Center this year)! So cool!
Ann Marie is the best…oh yeah…I tell you…she is the best! 🤣🤗😎🐐
