We need more Brad x meateater
As a born and raised New Englander, and a huge MeatEater fan I would be SO happy if you did a New England series.
-Fishing in RI or MA (maybe bluefin)
-Deer or bear hunting in NH or VT
-A moose hunt in Maine
I knew one of the hunting license exceptions was active duty military. When I was in the army one of my first duty stations was in Maryland, I didn’t live on base though, I lived 4 miles from post in Pennsylvania. I was legally allowed to hold a sportsman licenses in both states. This was common practice among a lot of the soldiers I knew. It was even covered during in processing when the representative from the post outdoor recreation department briefed every service member as part of mandatory in processing. Additionally, my home of record state allowed active duty members who held home of record status in the state, the ability to purchase a resident hunting/fishing license.
I was also active duty stationed out of my home state of Alabama. When I came home on leave, Alabama let me hunt without a license. I just had to bring my leave form and proof that I'm originally from Alabama. Only thing I had to purchase was my public land permit.
"Yakuza cheeks" 🤣
I discovered Brad about the same time as meateater. Brad and Rinella are my two favorite people to watch. Awesome to see your worlds collide!
When I was stationed at Fort Drum, NY, because I was in the Army, I bought my license as a New York resident.
The collaboration I didnt know I needed. I love Brad!
This might be one of my favorite podcasts i have ever listened to 😂 i was in tears laughing the whole time
I love the energy this guy brings. I hope he’s on more. Most of the guests either have the same demeanor or non hunters usually hold Steve in such reverence that they can be subdued.
Jerry Garcia was a big diver, btw
Love this ep
Your early episodes of JRE with Callen and Joe are legendary with the real ones 😉
"I don't touch a beaver that's not causin' someone trouble." - Code of the West
My little girl would love a kids podcast. She always to listen to them anyway.
1:43:48 Spencer, ya missed yer chance! A quick search would've shed some light! Jerry loved diving! It was later in life, but, nonetheless.
A beaver blanket is something I’ve been working towards over the years collecting pelts.
Though a coyote garment I need to complete with the many adult winter catches
Dude Brad is the shit. Great podcast.
Jerry actually was into diving in his later life
I was trying to find the timestamp of the conversation. Spencer missed his chance! A quick search on the doobly-doo, would've set Steve straight!
Dude thank you. Driving me crazy they missed this.
You all need Brad in the Meateater universe!!!!! Take him on the road with you!! Was your day how was your day?
I discovered brad when I was looking into making sourdough bread!
Yesss best videos on UA-cam
Poke polling is great. Northern California is the spot
Great show
Love Brad dude's hilarious
YES
when I was in the navy ..1964-68 I was stationed in Washington state ...but I could not fish the fresh water without an out of state fishing license ... no exceptions ! saltwater did not require a license unless you wanted to catch salmon
Brad is fun.I just dig you guys and gals at Meateater. Thank you
Most unexpected collab ever
Not really, Brads been on the channel a few times before
The new UA-cam episodes have brought in lots of folks who have not been around before.
Give the earnings from the kids podcast to Ravenwood! They’re an outdoor skills school in Montana and they rock!
I’m somewhat of a beaver eater myself.
Cant wait for the kids show, is it going to be on youtube as well!?
Nothing better Meateater n Brad Leony 👍🇺🇲
More BL please!
You can have a lifetime license in one state that you use to live in, and still purchase a resident license in the state that you live in now!
Who doesn't love eat'n a good beaver?
Gotta keep Brad coming on the show
If a bird lands within the distance the trees shadow can touch, it’s still in the roost. Outside of that, it’s not “roosted” any more.
Our country has gotten so damn soft
Never thought about that but to me killing a turkey on its roost would be in the tree as soon as it flys out its now off the roost. Like shooting any gamebird, its often frowned upon to shoot one on the ground or water but once it flys even it it just got 6 inches in the air hes up its a wingshot and ok. I also think whats the most difficult deer to get, not a big buck, theres lots of them but ive never seen a spotted fawn in November in wi, thats gotta be much harder as there are not many of them still with spots. Lol just thoughts.
I got a problem beaver. I’ll trade you straight across for a bit a learnin on the subject of trappin. I love having the ponds for Brookies on the property, but my trees are taking a hit.
What book is Steven talking about?
“Slavery in America, presidential politics, Civil War. Kiddie but complex” -Steven Rinella-
ALL waters?! What if I stocked my pond with trout a d cray fish?
Spencer. At 1:56:40 You read off 6 states but sad there were 7. Whats the 7th stat
Been following Brad probably the same amount of time I been following meateater
I didn’t know Chucky had a UA-cam account
@@MrThatnativeguy Full of surprises. :)
Phill best comment on the podcast lol
No way to make this short.
When I was a kid we lived in the country. I was playing and my dad was working behind the barn. Some teens that lived down the rd walked by with their dog the dog runs down our driveway goes behind the barn and I hear some gun shots. The dog goes back to the rd and the teens started heading back to their house with the dog. The father of the teens comes driving down the driveway in a truck. Gets out and drops the tailgate. And asks my dad what he is going to do about this dog he shot. The dog was still alive. My dad grabbed the dog by the back of the neck pulled it out of the truck and shot it in the head. Then picks up the dog and throws it back in his truck. The owner says he’s calling the police. My dad said make sure you tell them about this. Lifted his pant leg and showed bite marks. We never did hear from the police.
I live in Wisconsin, I've used Livescope. Currently only have a Vexilar.
Here's the thing...there is a snowball's chance in hell Garmin, Lowrance, Hummingbird, Marcum, and Vexilar are going to let any prohibition to using livescope pass any legislative body in Wisconsin.
I love your take on the Governor of SD!! Never lose me.
"Oh, MeatEater Where Art Though"
Care for some musk rat?
No thank you, Delmar. One third of a musk rat would only arouse my appetite without bedding it down.
Oh, you can have the whole thing. Me and Pete already had one apiece. We ran across a whole... musk rat village.
holy shit. that weight lifting story is fucking insane.
I'm fairly certain at least in Missouri. You can buy a lifetime fishing and hunting license for like, $700. And if I move to another state. I would still have a lifetime fishing in hunting license in Missouri. Have no idea if that is the same and other states though
I believe the lifetime license is a relatively new thing. Don't quote me on that, but I strongly believe it.
Our conservation department may have implemented that option around the time they made the purchase and possession of licenses something you could do/access online through the new conservation app. One of those instances where modern technology really is genuinely nifty and helpful. You don't have to drop by some brick and mortar anymore to update, renew or purchase such things anymore. You can just bring it up on your phone and deal with it on the spot wherever you are.
Paid podcast "not for the faint if heart" stories of cats complied by steven rinella
"A BAG OF DOGS?!?!?!?"
Speaking of eating beaver
What do ya call two lesbians in a canoe?
Fur traders
Fisher
my money is on a racoon or Opossum, they like the guts first and we have dealt with everything form owls, hawks, bobcats, mt lions, raccoons, coyotes, foxes, opossums, and weasels... they all suck with poultry... game cams are the best way know for sure!
As a man that has lived in Florida since 2006 and in a neighborhood with an HOA, this is not a Florida thing. I agree with everything else y’all are saying but you have to acknowledge that this stupid HOA behavior can be found in every state. Most people living in HOAs don’t care and share your view points. There always a few Karen’s and or Kevin’s in every HOA. Lastly, I’d be curious to know if these crazy people moved here from blue states!
I just can't get over the fact that this is called eating beaver
I going to throw another monkey wrench in the lic in two states. I have both Tennessee and Virginia lic as I was born in Tennessee but live in Virginia, I am allowed to to purchased a heritage lic which is the same as a residents Tennessee lic.
another demographic to fit into that live scope debate is those who simply oppose regulations as a whole
Watch this show at .75 speed. It is far more entertaining.
I eat beaver all the time. Lmao
That was my initial thought
Ol Cal has that Benjamin Button disease 😂 (referencing the fake ID comment)
Might have been a fisher that got your goose. Aggressive and mean little bastards, have them here in the western NY and they are a nuisance on the turkey, grouse and ducks
👍🐿👍
Steve, whomever does your thumbnails is using AI poorly. That is not a beaver head on a beaver body with 9 toes on one hand. I can’t be the only one that had OCD about this.
Phil is a true Renaissance man
*Disney adult
Who is Brad? Zero in the description. Way to go, Spencer.
He’s been on the show before, his full name is mentioned at the top of the podcast, his shows are mentioned by name multiple times, and they talk frequently about his work being cooking. You even watch the pod dude?
Steve, you might have lost some listeners, but kudos to you for saying what you think and not backing down! I agree with you, by the way.
That goose attack sounds like a canine. Cats usually attack the neck. Canines usually attack the legs and then consume the guts starting at the anus
Another week.. another week that hasn’t passed that Steven hasn’t referenced Trump… 😂😂😂
I got the best Pond sneaking story you ever heard but it's way too much to text
Whatever Cal
Oh my gosh Steve… I grew up on a family farm as a young kid in the 60/70s and we had a cocker spaniel female dog that would throw 10/12 puppies twice a year in a time when having a dog spayed was not even a thing… my mom would put them in a gunny sack after they where weaning and down to the creek they would go.. one time my friend asked what happened to the puppies and my mom told him they weren’t good swimmers 😳
Could of been a Bigfoot
I have eaten "A" muskrat fried and it was pretty good not much different from a cottontail rabbit so I'm not feeling to sorry for this guy...!
Obviously you shouldn't threaten or chase kids off your property but the litigious nature of Florida and other states like California you really have to be careful with anybody accessing property.
I never would have believed it but when I was working security in Southern California two kids jumped a fence to fish the pond and one kid jumped in to swim but slammed his head into the filter system and drowned.
Sure enough the kids family sued for not putting up enough warning signs and that they built a filter that was to close to the surface.
They settled out of court, drained the pond and turned it into grass.
Im all for being anti HOA, believe me I dealt with them for 15 years in management of a security company but these states make these people insane with fear of lawsuits.
I can't breathe. Send help. Yakuza cheeks.
I'm fuckin dying here ! 🤣
Hold up. It was all jokes and good times till you got to politics.
If you ever seriously consider running for office, please do it.
Please. Yes, it is an incalculable sacrifice. America needs people like you in office.
Even if it's just one term. We need people like you to help right this wayward foundering ship.
Our culture is decayed. Our society is corrupt. Our entire nation and the current generations of people reflect how far we have fallen.
Being selective about how you take an animal is such an east coast mentality 😂, I’d bushwhack a spike bull on day one if given the chance out west lol.
First
You were fourth. Maybe next time little guy
Don't love the speculating on low-information news snippets segment.
Bald beaver is what i eat
My brother and I got yelled at by an old man for fishing a creek in an open water state. We let him have it until his wife came and got him.
How many daughters well beyond appropriate age, did the dog killer shower with? I mean, while we're making lists that should/shouldn't offend the "open-minded" voters in the room...
When I think of eating beaver........ Well let's just say that the beaver I eat doesn't have any hair on it.
Must be underage
Sounds weird man
Yeah man. You gotta skin it before you cook it. Duh
@@HillBrosRacingor she is in her 30s and has good hygiene nerd.
Maybe think for 2 seconds before you post. Pretty bad taste for a family outdoors podcast
Ah yessss the G's, Judaism, GMOs and Danish Cinema!
brad isnt even on this podcast. hes just rocking in his chair confused if he should leave or not
Steve lost the plot on the dog bit, dog training is up to the owner and she was a shit owner.
Scientists need to quit modifying stuff
The cursing. The taking of the Lord’s name in vain. It’s disappointing. Raise the bar again.
…what? Lol, this is a podcast with adults, on the internet. Nothing to see here, just move on.
