You have turned your home into the pinnacle of coziness. If I weren't a gardener myself I would struggle to understand why you would ever want to venture into the garden. Olivia's room is true perfection 👌
@@StenAsk I think we always enjoyed doing the garden more than indoor DIY jobs and in some ways I’m glad we did it that way round as the garden is maturing nicely while we revisit all the rooms inside now that the kids have left home and we can devote more time to do them properly! However, I can’t wait to get back outside as I’m feeling a bit cooped up of late and you will know as well as me how great it feels to get outside!
Such an incredibly talented family and what a beautiful home you’ve created. I really love that gorgeous natural tablescape you created in the dining room, it is truly magical. You and Alister seem to share an impeccable eye for detail and love of hard work in all of the many projects you take on - both inside and out of the house. What an inspiration you are!
@@Tibetan2 Thank you so much, we love working on a project together. After doing all the hard, messy and thankless jobs like insulation, roofing, moving walls etc in the early days with a lot of help from Al’s Dad, it’s fun to finally see the rooms come together. It may have been slow but it’s incredibly rewarding!
So homey, thank you for the tour ❤❤❤!! So many details I love in your home, molding, wallpaper, lighting, etc, but have to mention my favorite - the oversized cabinet knobs in the kitchen - too fabulous!! Definitely ups the happy factor in the kitchen 😃
Your home is as beautiful inside as the grounds are outside. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year. Looking forward to your garden adventures in 2025. Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦
@@lilwilliams7277 Thank you, we’re just getting the hang of things now after 15 years of getting it wrong 😂! Turns out we had all the right things, just all in the wrong places!🤣
I enjoyed the tour of your beautiful home. You and your husband have put in a great amount of work. The wall paper you have sourced and other finishing touches enhance an old home like this v well. I m sure Olivia is delighted with her refurbished bedroom.
@@sunitashastry5270 Thank you so much, it’s nice to see it all come together after all the hard work. It was worth it as both Olivia and Josh got a shock and a lovely Christmas surprise, it was very hard not to spill the beans! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home❤ I’m amazed at all of the work you done yourselves. It all looks professionally done. I absolutely love the Morris and Company wallpaper and fabrics. All of the wallpaper and colors you have used are timeless and fit your home’s history so well. Murphy did a great job as greeter 😘 I wish you a very merry Christmas and a wonderful new year.
@@carlas872 Thank you so much, I can’t take the credit though, my husband is a perfectionist and so everything he does is done slowly but to a very high standard! I am the impatient one but I’m learning that the best things come to those who wait! (It’s only taken us 15 years🤣). Morris & Co papers are stunning aren’t they, I’m a bit nervous of the bolder, darker prints but I might be brave and go for it in our snug which needs decorating next year!
@@esmeviljoen7893 Thank you so much, it may have been a very long, boring video as it’s taken us 15 years to get the rooms right! However, I think we are getting the hang of it now and we still have lots of renovations to do including a cellar, attic rooms and outbuildings, many more garden projects and the front garden, so plenty to keep us going!
I love your handiwork, especially the curtains. The braid trim really caught my attention and may end up in my next venture/adventure. If you ever want twisted cord, take one beater out of your electric hand mixer, measure multiple lengths of cord (perle cotton works great) at least 8times the desired finished length. Tie the end to a sturdy knob or handle and turn it on! Let it twist until it wants to double back on itself. Grab in the middle and let it twist. It won’t come undone except at the very end. (My children grew up thinking that was the only purpose of that little mixer😊. Yes, I cook but prefer my stand mixer. ) If you don’t have a hand mixer, wait until your teenager does something really awful and make them twist a pencil instead of the mixer!
Your home is so beautiful and cozy . That husband of yours , is there anything he can’t do? Have a wonderful holiday ,looking forward to all your videos in 2025.
