Great news, indeed! I worked on some bilingual editions I want to self-publish; sometimes, a little explanation is necessary for one of the languages. A footnote or an endnote is necessary. And all your advice from spacing to marketing (including discount coupons) has been helpful. Thank you very much!
Thank you for your reply. I am watching the tutorials and everything I can find. I love the program, and I was able to custom-make a template today. It is really great.
Thanks for video's. If one makes footnotes in ones Word manuscript, and one uploads it directly by Amazon KDP, it transforms all footnotes automatically into endnotes. Do you know if the footnotes show up in the end of each chapter or in the end of the book? How can I find out this?
I love your products and own Atticus and KDP Rocket. I was on KDP Rocket yesterday and did not see any login information for that software. I could use it but I don't think I was logged in. Am I missing something about login button?
Has something changed in 2024? I am attempting to convert footnotes to endnotes in Atticus but don't see anything available in the formatting section. The only things visible in the formatting section are the various themes (Aether - Watts) and to the right the previewer section. I don't see anything else. Is there a new step involved now?
I used to do my academic essays with Microsoft Word 2000 and that had a really great right button click editable short form list which you could add footnotes & endnotes to. No idea how applicable it is to book production, but it made essay production a cinch for me. I keep hassling libre office to add a similar function
Yeah, that function on Word is great. However, it doesn't translate over for when you format word into a book. But if you upload your word doc into Atticus, it will see those footnotes and add them inside of Atticus for the formatting.
Perfect! That's exactly what we need. By the way, both my husband and I were up early, separately researching ebooks, kindle, etc., and laughed when we realized one was listening to your videos and the other was on your website. Thank you for all this great information!
not really, because the links in the footnotes in the ebook (epub) versions are not clickable and you can't make them. Amazon will have your book removed from sale as this is a critical formatting error acording to their TOS.
@@j.t2548 I'm not sure I understand what you mean by this. The original question was if you can use Atticus to make Kindle books. The answer is yes, you can use Atticus to make ebooks/kindle books.
I want to include a seven-word phrase from a video game. Intending to be a nod to my inspiration, not plagiarism, but I don't know if this is allowed. I'd like to use an endnote to reference the source. Would that be allowed? How many words together can be classed as plagiarism? Does referencing help?
Hello again. How do you delete endnotes in Atticus? It would be great if we had a manual or workbook that provided some information on deleting endnotes, etc.
Simple - just put your cursor next to the endnote...and hit the backspace or delete key. Also, Atticus has it's own tutorial page (www.atticus.io/tutorials/) and it's own UA-cam channel (ua-cam.com/users/AtticusWriter) where they have a specific video all about the Footnotes and Endnotes here (ua-cam.com/video/O4cUbx5GNV8/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Atticus).
Hey Dave, really liked your video Atticus Feature: Footnotes! have you ever thought of getting a verification badge for your channel? It will definitely boost your views and subs by 100X.
Can you import footnotes/endnotes? I have manuscripts that I create in Word with over 200 endnotes. I don't want to have to add them manually within Atticus.
@@Kindlepreneur okay! Do you know if we can export chapters or sections individually after we are done formatting? I want to have a custom PDF with QR code after a chapter but hen I export it and print it, its doesn't look great. I'm thinking I can add a PDF to it if I can export by chapter
They still don't work. In epub version the links do not have the interlink (can't click) and so Amazon KDP flags it as a critical error and takes the ebook out from the sale. Just so you know. Almost 2 years, you still can't handle footnotes.
Great news! Been needing a footnote feature for a long time!

So, are you saying you CAN use Atticus for your Kindle books? Sorry, I'm new and trying to quickly learn all this.
No problem. Yes - it makes both ebook and print books for markets like Amazon, B&N, iTunes, etc.

Yes you can.
And what if I want muy footnotes as pop up notes? (in an ebook). Is ir possible?
I want to start promoting Atticus. When will you launch beta affiliates?
Not sure yet. We want more features to come out before we start that. But when we do, we'll send out an email to all owners that that program is a go.
