As a long time Xiaoyu main, the new inputs for some moves make her easier to use. No more button sliding inputs (like her cross lifting palms and cycle kick). Also her Hypnotist stance is really buffed. Her evasion is still there.

Xiaoyu is as hard to learn as she is hard to beat. Even I, a Xiaoyu main, have no understanding in her moves and combos, yet when I was a kid I managed to kick butts with this beloved girlfriend of Jin Kazama's, just by pressing aimlessly.

i think you did monkey kick (RDS 3+4) incorrectly. i think you accidentally input down, which resulted to RDS d+3+4, which is the spin
